In an interview with Forbes, outspoken former radio DJ & talk show host, Wendy Williams, 50, who has one of daytime’s most successful syndicated talk shows, The Wendy Williams Show, advised women to use their entire 20s to build a career and get married in their 30s.

"My suggestion to women is always…use your entire 20s to work your behind off in your career… And then think about meeting that guy. Cause we’re the ones that lose in marriage. Not men.”
"It is difficult for men to accept really successful career women. Whether it be that we out-earn them or that our name is brighter than theirs. I also feel like marriage and babies stunt a woman’s growth career-wise. Once you get married and have kids, you can’t do all the things that you used to do & maintain this important precious thing that you built as a family.”

after reading this article cool

I can now relax

now. I am going to travel ard the world and enjoy life

the pressure of marrying in ur twenties, makes life too tight for us girls

esp when girls are pursing university and master degrees in a high rate

no breathing space for us

immediately after school, marriage thrown into ur face. .bam!
so depressing!

The most productive years of a woman is in her 20s. A woman should marry in her late twenties and have all her kids by the time she's 30/early 30s

U are right... This marriage thing sef is a whole lot of distraction..
Imagine a woman getting married and the next thing every one is looking forward to is seeing her getting pregnant. Nobody talks about her self development anymore

Igbo girls are known to be the most ambitious women in Nigeria and Africa

no wonder they marry late these days

its not abt bride price being high for their suitors

its just that they are ambitious

my dear, read my write up and read it very well, marriage is never a distraction it can only be a distraction to you when u make poor decisions and have bleak prospects for yourself ..... If you choose to marry and relegate your self-development whose fault is It? African women are so tied to marriage and men and see it as a vital and viable means of financial and emotional liberty.... They have their lives so tied around men , that they fail to see their selves as the sole personality they re suppose to be, that can achieve any heights they choose on sheer hard work , and deligence ;reason why most husband disrespect their wives (that will be a discussion for another time)

Marriage should be a union between two people of like minds, having a common goal , that can help each other in achieving their dreams hands in hands I believe u should have heard the biblical phrase "1 will chase a thousand, 2 shall chase 10,000"

U shouldn't streamline yourself, to when and where u'll marry, that is only bondaging yourself (assuming you happen not to see the right suitor in your supposed self imposed marriageable age, what then befall U? ).....

The time you meet the right person , should be the most appropriate time to tie the knots, DO NOT BONDAGE YOURSELF. ...

more so, u shouldn't be concerned with what people await to see after marriage, u should be more concerned with what your spouse wants to see in you...

All the best

Even though I don't really like this post minding the gender insensitive tendencies it portrays for not including how the object af discuss will affect the masculine gender which I'd been designed by fate to represent , I still feel Wendy's point for our 20's is when we begin to live our exact life in our exact way doing the exact things we want to and are supposed to do. Also, it is the period when we begin to stabilize and mature emotionally ,economically or what have you. So, trying to pull up the marriage tent whence could just mess things up BUT those will be if things are not well planned for (marrying late has its own consequences people). That in bracket is where the fault with this opinion sets in maybe because Wendy wasn't paying attention to how it'll affect the other player, the mAn like I'd said ...

So, my solution is that when it's that me and my better half had reached a consensus before delving into the marriage contract to grow ourselves, stabilize our careers to the desired taste or what have we FIRST before launching into other rites in the marriage institution, Raising kids being a MAJOR the smarter. For we would have successfully dodged several danger experienced by nuptial late comers like emotional depressants as heartbreaks which had forced so many to fall out of love and belief it (love) doesn't even exist . In fact, since two heads are better than one, beating targets will be easier ...
It all boils down to our maturity and the seriousness of purpose of me and her anyway for this theory to play and play good. The perfect prayer will just be that one finds a willing playmate who'd never jilt.

In conclusion, this will be my sharp method to actually counter the adultery sin whilst enjoy sex from when the passion for it is still strong till old age grin grin grin

Anybody, in tune with my opinion? I'd also love to see counterpoints for maybe I'm fallible smiley .

Please stop talking theory, go out there take a sample of married women and ask them how easy it has been since they got married. Now I'm not of the opinion that one should impose on his /her self a marriage age but what I am saying is that it pays to achieve at least 80 % of your objectives in life before getting married as it will afford you enough time to focus on your marriage

I don't need to ask anybody! I'm a living withness, we have achieved far more than being single!!! When ideas come, we put minds together and our two good heads have always been better than 1...

30s don old oh. which man go marry una.

many girls don't realize this until they 26 especially the ones who get hit on all the time and they think its gonna last forever.

it will be hard for a man to settle with a girl in the 30s because there r younger better girls..... moreover any guy doing that has probably had his fair share of young girlfriends he has sampled before settling for u.

this whole feminism and independent woman thing is ruining women at a rapid rate. who said you can't marry and pursue career at the same time? who said you have to give birth immediately. the reason girls r pressured to have kids is because age is not on their side when they get married.

With or without a man, women can build their career. Young Ladies need to wake up and stop being dependent on family or a man.

Marriage is good, but after marriage what next? what happens to your dreams and aspirations?

sadly i was raised to think getting married is my purpose in life, i was taught how to sit properly, eat properly or laugh properly because no man wants to marry a "bad" woman who irritates him with her actions.
I know alot of girls out there have found themselves in my shoes especially after university and the next thing they remind you is to get married as all your mates are doing so and i ask what is the need sending her to school in the first place.

ur dreams and aspirations are still in tact because no good man will curb them. my mum has a large businesses empire now. don't swallow hook line and sinker what Americans tell u think for urself. a word is enough for the wise. if men and women were to play the independent game women will lose because each man will always have an endless supply of women to pick from while the same can't be said for women so its in ur best interest to find a man that will commit to u.

finally feminism and proponents such as Wendy Williams are going against the word of God in Genesis which says thy desire shall be to thy husband.

many outspoken feminists while outwardly appearing fulfilled in their career are inwardly empty and crave the companionship of a man.

don't be deceived.
