Onuokwu: I was referring to d cost of the Poly facial when I said 5700.. I added the cost per sqm + transport +labour + tentative cost per sqm of roof beam and divided by perimeter of 120m.. I now asked how much in-situ will cost (not precast) and hr said 4000 per sqm. I was a little bit confused too because the Ploy facial is supposed to be cheaper than In-situ as Abdulwastecx said earlier.. @Segcymoor The owner is obviously trying to reduce cost..Laterite that quantity is not up to 16k.. Must be an Ijebu man.. (Apologies to Ijebu men here) |

brabus:lol..don't blame suppliers atimes. Most builders are not ready to pay the price. It's a good thing you got your own truck but you will still have to buy from US or you now maintain an account at the quarry? I laugh whenever i see suppliers quote 150k for 3/4 or half inch 30 tons granite to lagos. How can 150k service such? lol |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by abdulwastecx(m): 12:15pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
KolaShangOne: The cost of around 3600- 4000 is for "PRECAST" fascia |

KolaShangOne: secrete beams are not structurally sound to have either as an added support or replace beam. The effective depth of such beam will be too small for a slab of 150mm. if one is not ready to do rib slab or waffle slab such beam should never be introduce.... |

jam04: DISHONESTY....... IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER! I think it is more dignifying to tell you client/Builder that 30Tons cost x-y amount. Not a penny less, take it or leave it. Not to DEFRAUD them by giving them 23Ton, ......when they paid for 30Ton, you agreed to supply 30Ton and they were expecting 30Ton. Some Nigerians and their criminal mind ehn? Lastpage! 5 Likes |

jam04: Way to go to blame the victim. The builders are not at fault. The entity at fault are the theiving suppliers, pure and simple. No one deserves to be cheated. |

mufutau55: It's not a life contract. But the suppliers' association still have a way of extorting money from you o especially when they know you're not using them. There are couple of times they delay our truck from entering sites because we are not registered member of supplier association and we need to pay some dues. |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Nobody: 5:22pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
mufutau55: Nope. I've recently learned that vital lesson and I'm more the wiser now. But an atheist supplier has more value now |

erico2k2: 30 tonne granite to Port harcourt will most probably be bought from Abia State along Enugu express road...you should pay between N125,000 - N150,000.00 for that though i am not a supplier o. I am just estimating based on prices in the East. 1 Like |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by jam04(m): 6:44pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
mufutau55: Granite price is never stable, it fluctuates according to market forces so also is transport. I notice most builders don't know there are different prices for stones, the cheapest been stone dust. Suppliers rip them off by giving them uniform prices for all stones. The first method to beat your supplier to his game is to know the stone size you want. Don't just ask a broad base price. Stone dust presently is 500 per ton 3/4 is 1500 5/8 is 1600 Half inch is 2200 Transport depends on tonnage and location. 10tons to lekki is 35,000, 20tons to lekki is 55,000 and 30tons to lekki is 60,000. This excludes toll charges ooo. Toll charge from ogun state to lekki for 30tons is 5000 while for 10 tons is 3500. This also excludes omonile settlement and area boys, in some locations they collect as high as 5k or 10k per trip and some just 1 or 2k. This price never get company margin inside oooo. This breakdown is what I give a potential client or builder and the smart ones see beyond the figures and go for it. The breakdown I gave above should give you a rough estimate of what your order will be BUT it depends on current market price and condition. I repeat again for emphasis NO truck presently used by haulage companies can carry 30tons complete as we all fear for our tires and suspension due to bad nature of road, traffic and weather condition. The only location we do make such trip( 30tons) is Agbara for those that re-sell and they pay HUGE and movement is timed. A honest supplier will be open to you about this Ciao 4 Likes |

Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by jam04(m): 7:18pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
EgunMogaji: You might get a cheaper transport quote in ibadan considering that Elebu is close to the quarry. Stones prices in ibadan is way much higher than Ogun state. 1 Like |

jam04:Thanks for sharing this. How much do they charge for transport to Agbara? 10, 20 and 30 tons. |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by jam04(m): 8:40pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
Dieumerci: If i am charging you to agbara it will be as follows: 10tons.......28k 20tons........45k 30tons.......54k These prices excludes omonile/area boys or community charges. The client is in the best position to know what these guys collect since it is his/her area |
