Ehen, my turn now for the felicitations. Congrats bro! So now you're gonna be doing all those analyses of train 7 and what not for real! Don't worry, we're right behind you. Okay guys, this dude waited a whole year before he was contacted. Granted, that is far more likely to normally happen in the case of experienced hires than gts, and I'm not saying either case is fair or not or anything (cause I dunno what's going on in there) but imagine constantly checking your mail for a year in anticipation. Let's try and borrow a leaf even if it's a tiny one (of course no one would reasonably expect ours to be close to that long). Of course it's a tad easy for me to say because I'm employed but you're very wrong if you think the anticipation isn't killing me too. forkadict: |

CHM11: Thanks so much bro. The smile ehn, na die o. Even in my sleep sef. If I want to roll over, na wit smile lol. You really cant blame me tho cos this thing has met 2 of my most prominent needs in life. The first is that the struggle to break into the oil and gas industry has persisted for over a decade and now it has come. The second reason is that it has come in the form of deliverance from the hands of my oppressors at work. I wish you the very best as well. 1 Like |

NLNG wins CIPM best practices award By Editor on October 22, 2015 6:08 am The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has rated Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG)as one of the top three companies with the best HR practice in Nigeria. At a ceremony at CIPM’s Annual Conference on October 14, 2015 in Abuja, CIPM awarded NLNG with the Human Resources (HR) Best Practice Awards, after a rigorous process of assessments and surveys by the professional bodyfrom a list of 20 companies. This milestone reinforces the fact that NLNG maintains the very highest standards in all its HR principles and practices.Ours is a nexus of HR policies that exemplifies global best practices which can only be paralleled by few in Nigeria. The policies meet organisational needs as well as take cognisance of personal development of each staff. NLNG is an employer of choice and we are very proud of this.” The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management flagged the Annual HR Best Practice Awards in 2012 to positively transform, develop a sustain professional excellence in the human resources profession through identification and recognition of organisations with consistent track record of world class HR practice. incredu: Pardon me for breaking down your post into bits. I don't want to leave anything out probably because your post stirred my sensibilities. (1) Bros, it is not even negotiable. I gast do am. If you had the faintest idea of what these mofos have made me go thru, you will not wish such ill treatment on your worst enemies. (2) I beg to differ. Ok, lemme give you a sneak peak into what Ive been thru. My sincere apologies to those who may think I am whining. My broda, I work for a miserable, sadistic company in the manufacturing industry. Please note that it NEVER crossed my mind for a second while I was in school that I would work in a manufacturing company for even a day. For me it was either OIL AND GAS or OIL AND GAS. there was no other option. But as fate would have it, and after spending over 2 years in the labour market, I had to settle for this company in 2006 while still continuing my hustle for the oil and gas job on the side. This company is a multinational for your info with operating units in West and east Africa, Europe and Asia. You will not believe that I have never been sent to any other OU outside naija for even a day either for training, secondments or in any other official capacity. meanwhile almost everybody that I know has been out multiple times. In fact, many colleagues were enrolled in a Diploma programme with a university in the UK that will have them spend 1 week in every 6 weeks in the UK and this arrangement would last for 3 years or so. But Forkadict does not deserve this. Some others were even sent on secondments where they will spend anywhere from weeks to months overseas. again, Forkadict does not deserve this according to those mofos. Even local training sef, I recall a few years that I attended only one locally organised training session in those years and those training courses were compulsory for all staff otherwise, I could have gone for 2 straight years without attending a single training course. Now lets talk promotion. Prior to 2013, I felt I was denied a promotion. But rather than wait for my direct boss to do that, I decided to apply for an internal vacancy that was a step higher at the time. My boss kicked against it citing reasons that the team needs me and that opportunities abound in my current role. To cut a long story short, the transfer was denied and he ended up not promoting me till this very moment. I could cite a few more instances but lets just stop here. (3) I will most def leave with my dignity intact but I want the 'painment' to be maximally felt. (4) Some other place, some other time. some other people, perhaps. But with these mofos at this time, omo na lie o. Phew! Pardon me folks, I didn't mean to bore anyone. But still on still sha, #NaGodWin. 4 Likes |

When you have mouths to feed, your managerial knack and frugality would be second to none. May you never come into this industry on the wrong rung of the ladder. Are you screeming 120k is small? My hommie takes 30k per month. He flies to about three offshore fields per week plus office work days. The same chopper will carry the 30k earner and the 2.5mill per month dude under same bad weather and equal risk. Dont say different job function till you are into the system. When some of you out there screem for oil and gas industry job I laugh. Some will say, any how the job be just give me so far say na oil industry. Lol....may you not come in from the wrong cardinal route. If you have been praying for oil and gas job, please begin hence forth to be specific on the type of job you want from God. Dont pray amiss. The route to luxury is permanent staff, chikena! Else you may be fluctuating up and down the wage rates like a raft floating on a denser sima. I have been on a job with salary of 650k, now on 120k, now heading to a place where I will have a positive graph of experience versus remuneration. Oluwa I thank you. Going to give NLNG my bestest. My booth is red in color and I will hang it at finima, bonny till Saudi aramaco comes calling with that their colombian offer. DivineU: 1 Like |

Heart2heart: I feel you bro. But I may not likely resume till January. Reason is because I don't expect any substantive offer till sometime next month. Best case possible. I will need at least 2 weeks for my exit and clearance from my present sheethole. I will also like to rest for at least one week. We are already looking at 1st December as a likely resumption date. But maguy, who resumes at a new company in December #DesperadoTinz |

forkadict: I really know what you mean by this. That moment when they start begging you to give them 2 extra weeks before your resignation becomes effective. Your response would be a resounding NO!!! Also, when you eventually resign and stop work with them, it then happens that at some point they get stuck on some processes and have no option than to call you for guidance. That's the time to "post" them like you are The Post Master General. Any organization that does not value its staff and treats them unfairly deserves such treatment. Congrats Forkadict. |
