There are many reasons i dislike Igbos, one of them is the fact that Ikwerres were made to watch while Igbos built houses on Ikwerre ancestral lands excluding us from owning anything in PH.

The reality is that only a serious push can get us back our lands...But we can never forget the part played by Igbos.
Your comments keep contradicting you. Why would owners of a land be stopped by immigrants from building their houses. I have busted you many times on this forum. But the SE Igbos who cannot differentiate between an imposter and a true Ikwerre keeps giving you relevance. You're not Ikwerre, never was and will never be one. Your past misdeeds are stored here, even where you were busted. So I advice you thread softly before I open up your can of worms again. Lol! Our Igboid brothers are so funny eh! That's why I will never give up on a United Igbo land.

Looking at HopeAthand accusation of Igbos dubiously acquiring all lands in PH to Ikwerre detriment in the old Eastern region reminded me of something.

I had this Etche Friend I met online in an online forum. I was eager to know the sentiments driving the Etches away from SE and Igbo tag then, that was in 2011, so decided I needed to hear from an Etche man.

For months of online interactions, this young man refused to tell me why he hates being called Igbo. He kept telling me that Igbos are greedy, thieves, wicked, land grabbers, oyel thieves, ritualists, etc. You know the kind of thing you normally hear from your normal Igbophobic Nigerians.

It wasn't until months later, in one of his happy days, that he told me the truth.

He told me that he knows that Etche is Igbo, but that he will never admit being Igbo, that he will never forget Ndiigbo for what we did to his Etche people.

He said that we built no road in Etche, that the one that pains him most is that we didn't do much to promote education in their area, that we left their fathers to become poor illiterate farmers, while the rest of us were busy going to school, he said that we cornered all the free Education slots in the East to ourselves and forgot that they were our brothers, and that as a result of that, they are a bit educationally backward today, compared to us.

To him, crude oil was God's answer to their prayers, and that they won't share it with us.

To say I was dumbfounded will be an understatement, all my attempt to explain things to him fell on deaf ears.
With time, I got the feeling that he was brought up and indoctrinated with those sentiments by his folks, and he holds them as sacrosanct truth, nothing on earth will change his feelings, he was impervious to reasoning, he was totally irredeemable.

Why should we leave them alone?

So that you can give away their lands like you did with Bakassi without being challenged?

So that you can kill dem mama and dem papa and make dem people orphans, like you did in Odi?

So that you can turn their lands desolate like you did in Ogoniland with crude oil spills?

So that you can continue building more cities like Abuja in your desolate deserts while their Yenegoa remain a village town?

So that you can build more mainland bridges while East- West road remain a death trap?

Lol! You wish.

Now crawl back to your Islamic Sharia republic of Arewa-Oduanistan.
in short, you do not like how everyone is benefiting from the oil, you wan kukuma annex south south so only you enjoy the oyel... Choi, *in truckpusher's voice*, na long throat and greed go kill ibo people. cheesy

So can we also say that Gwari people were made to watch while Igbos built house on their Abuja ancestral lands.

So because the Gwaris couldn't afford the money to acquire lands from the FCT government, the Igbos that have the money to acquire lands in Abuja and build houses on Gwari lands should not do so.

They should wait for the majority of Gwari people who are currently poor to become buoyant enough to compete favourably with Igbos for Gwari lands.

Failure of Ndiigbo in Abuja to do as above should be enough justification for the next generation of Gwari people to accuse the Igbos of being greedy and of conniving with the FCT government to defraud Gwari people of their ancestral lands, and to develop a rabid case of Igbophobia.

This is exactly the mentality HopeAthand was exhibiting.

You can write whatever to make the situation look simple...But 1931 isnt 1991.

We know Igbos and their tendency to cheat and malign people..The Yoruba are having a field day arguing Lagos ownership with Igbos..in the ER, Igbos were lords and used all means necessary and available to covet whichever land and resources of minorities that was of any interest to them.

The port and adjoining areas were very prime to them and how can they own all those areas if not by coveting them..how can you come from Nsukka, Nnewi, Njikoka and Ekwulobia to own properties in 1920s in Ikwerreland if not through covetous means as a result of the power vested on you as majority..Rubbish

Again, Another trash coming from you.

If Ndiigbo acquired lands from PH because they were the lords of the ER like you want us to believe. How come they now also hold a substantial part of Abuja real estate, even when they are not in control of Abuja, and this is in this modern era.

Common sense demands that if Igbos had a huge chunk of PH real estate, strictly out of their control of the ER, then they shouldn't be able to have the same effect, in places like Abuja, where they have no control whatsoever.

Nobody invested any Nsukka or Ekwulobia man with powers, they simply worked harder when your ancestors werent. And so they had the cash to acquire property, your ancestors couldn't.

Not every body in Nsukka or Ekwulobia had enough money to acquire lands in PH, only the hard working rich ones amongst then and they were all self made.

[b] "The Igbo philosophy seems to be “money maketh a man” and the Igbo man is prepared to sink to any level or scale the
highest mountain to get money…No job is too menial for the Igbo man
...I think there are two main reasons why “the Igbo are everywhere.”
First, as I have stated, the Igbos will go to any length in search of money and since they are more willing than any other
tribe to do any type of work, no matter how menial, they are ready and cheap source of labour everywhere.
Another reason for their migration… is terribly overpopulated by its 12 million or so inhabitants, so that the Igbo is
constantly on the move in serch of a place to stand in.
While I admire the Igbos for their energy and industry, their insatiable desire for money makes me sick.
…I have stated elsewhere in this narrative that the Igbo does not believe that any kindness can be gratuitous and would
doubt your sincerity if you were prepared to do any favour for him without demanding or accepting a consideration.
As a matter of fact the Igbo man makes the offer before he begins to ask for the help he seeks. This remarks should,
however, not be taken to mean that there are no honest people among them.
There certainly are, but by and large, the average Igbo man seeks gain from whatever he does.
…One common charge against the Igbo is that if you give them an inch they will demand (and quite often take) a mile.
An Igbo man in search of residential accommodation is prepared to pay rent for even your kitchen store. Within a week of
his moving in, about half a dozen “brothers” come to “visit” him; within a fortnight more of them arrive. He then pleads
with you to allow them temporary accommodation in the house but soon they have become permanent and taken every
available space in your house.
There would be nothing wrong with this if they remained as tenant. But the sad part of it is that before the owner knows
what is happening these tenants are dangling money before his eyes for the purchase of the house itself or the adjoining
land.
The money comes to hand quite easily either through concerted efforts or some wealthy “brothers” or the tribal union,
and overnight the owner of the house becomes a tenant on his own land.
In like manner, they have surreptitiously ousted “nationals” of the other regions from their market stalls, from their
shops, from the rubber plantations and other forms of human endeavour. One may say, it is the stupidity of the other
people.
Is it any wonder then that some other regions in the federation entertain fear of possible Igbo domination?
IT IS TO BE HOPED THAT THEY DO NOT BECOME LIKE THE JEWS , objects of castigation and contempt for their industry
and adventurous spirit".

Even the Igbophobic Oba Bini, acknowledged the fact that Ndiigbo are not the type to take things from people by force. Expansionism, exploitation, Empire building are not the traits of an Igbo man.

The Igbo man pays for all he acquires, he doesn't take things he didn't pay for.

Your lies simply has no root.

Those Ikwerre towns that became part of PH urban were given central Igbo names to promote "pan Igboism", it wasn't out of spite or desire to subjugate any one.
And it's not like some Ikwerre towns don't naturally use "Umu" instead of "Rumu", Enugwu was registered as Enugu, no one cares about about the removal of "W" letter in Enugu, why must Ikwerres die just because of removal of "R" letter from some towns? How does that equate to Igbo people renaming the town?

Enugu metropolis has a part of it called "Obiagu" in central by Ndiigbo in Enugu, but in native Enugu tongue, that should have been written and pronounced as "Obiegu". But in the spirit of United Igbo spirit, you don't see Enugu people complaining that Igbo people renamed that part of their town.

Chai, why are you Igboids so sensitive, Why?

"But not to worry, we have our houses back(though not all), and have renamed our towns, so no need to fuss about it"

To the best of knowledge, Ikwerres were never the direct beneficiaries of abandoned property saga, it was an Ijaw affair.

As a matter of fact, Ikwerres lost out in the abandonment property saga more than Ndiigbo, as the property Ndiigbo lost to Ijaw usurpers were actually Ikwerre lands we bought from Ikwerre natives. And since Ijaws have come to occupy those areas, they have also started exerting claim to the lands the property stands on. Lands that were previously Ikwerreland.

So, you see, if you are an impostor, and your mission is to maintain a rift between Ndiigbo and Ikwerres with that quote, then you obviously failed your mission. grin

Pazienza;
Bro, do you have any link to this supreme court judgement on Opobo and jajas.

Yes Pazienza. But first of all, the effort to obliterate any thing Igbo is habitual with my Ijaw brothers.

King Jaja, for himself and on behalf of his lineage, clearly ESTABLISHED a dynasty in Opobo. So said Justice Niki Toby of the Supreme court of Nigeria in 2003 in his ruling.

Jaja on his establishment of Opobo, had 14 families in his entourage. They now constitute sections of Opobo town. These families were rather his vassals. In 1869, he clearly spelt out in the so called "Minima agreement" with these vassals that his new estate - Opobo - and its rulership must remain within his lineage.

So it happened that after the death of King Douglas Jaja 1980, the Ijaws wanted the throne! Apparently to better manipulate the place of king Jaja in Opobo history. Some of the members of these largely Ijaw families concocted a story that the current King was not the true son of his father and therefore should not succeed him. And in addition, claimed the "Minima Agreement" of 1869 vested the power to select the king of Opobo amongst them the 14 families and to which they had selected some one outside the Jajas.

Anyway, Opobo WILL continue to be the Crimea of Igboland, so long as the Jajas continues to Identify with AMAIGBO, as they have always been doing. Opobo na small matter.
