You are saying for sure that oil boom in Nigeria lasted for five years and that since the exploration of oil in the country for over 40 years now, the revenue from oil and the economy on ground b4 Goodluck Jonathan was commensurate, and that Goodluck Jonathan didn't add a dint to our economy to move it forward?
FOR SURE?

It is me that suppose to kick your balls for your comment. Madam Oby and his group saved Nigeria from shame. GEJ never believed some girls were missing despite the fact that the raiding was written bold everywhere. So if not OBY and her BBOG what do you think Malala of GEJ great granddaughter age will be saying. I be die hard APC and I won't abuse the woman for saying the truth and everything should not be looking from opposition angle. PMB need to get it right and that is all.

please how did madam oby ezekwesili save Nigeria from shame? And why did her BBOG campaign suddenly went cold after GEJ lost the elections

Wailers can be so f**king irritating. Who is to be blamed for our current economic woes, GEJ( in charge for 5 years of oil boom) or PMB ( inherited a messed up economy as price of oil crash)? If the once acclaimed biggest economy in Africa can crash within few months, then something is definitely wrong with NOI & GEJ.

Well for the records, the oil bloom yielded its dividends. At least we were rated the number one economy in the continent even before south Africa following the rebasing. Foreign Investment was good. In spite of all the acclaimed looting, Nigeria was still Ok and cash flow was still good. Buhari didn't take over any bad economy, just another make believe because of the greed for power. Buhari actually inherited an healthy economy, atleast I could still remember he dashing some states grants in some billions of naira to pay workers because of their governors Ineptitude. When he should order the states to do the needful or face federal consequences.

Moreover, I thought they had their master plan and promised to hit the ground running or maybe the ground got deeper, so they haven't hit it yet not to talk of running. When they aspiring for power, they didn't have a blue print for growth and development Ni? Greedy people and a blind cause is the reason Nigeria hasn't moved forward since May 29 of this year. Putting the cart before the horse by chasing shadows instead on focusing on governance.

Keep supporting a blind and unproactive government blaming the past for their own lack of creativity and management inabilities, instead of constructively criticising them to put them in the right frame of mind to propel growth and development. I pray you don't get old blaming Jonathan while the situation keeps getting worse.

Nigerians should have just allowed Jonathan to finish his course, what he started. As it is, we can't blame him because through some people's lack of foresight and impatience, didn't let him complete his journey even if Nigeria was still going to change from PDP and now some people are rendering all his effort irrelevant and void.

It's simple, garbage in garbage out...

FOR SURE?

Apart from the early 70's when Gowon built most of our infrastructure, the price of oil had never been as high as it was during the Jonathan era when adjusted for inflation. Even babangida's golf war oil windfall prices weren't this high.

Jonathan was the worst president Nigeria has ever had. Madam iweala knew that the price of oil was going to fall as far back as 2012, yet rather than saving money and allowing our currency to appreciate during the good times, Jonathan's administration spent on bogus programs that yielded next to nothing for Nigeria. Pdp's insistence on government having no business with business blinded jonathan from investing directly in power and technology infrastructure.

Obasanjo had a fraction of Jonathan's income, yet Obasanjo grew our external reserves and our excess crude account. Our currency appreciated from 145 Naira to the dollar to 118 Naira to a dollar between 2004 and 2007.

Why do you think all the major politicians decided to support Buhari in the last election? They could see clearly the long term damage Jonathan's actions had already brought upon Nigeria.

Ps. I have given specific facts with numbers. You can use google to research and verify what I have said if you have the free time.

True.
But this is what I think could help.
Permit me to repeat my post on the 'Benue Staff Protest' thread, this morning. This, though over flocked over the years does not just seem to have earned the treatment it deserves:
"...Moreover, all parties must be prepared to make sacrifices, both the political office holders and the civil servants. If they can't get all their salaries, they have to make do with part of it.

However, It is foolish for States Chief Executives to rely on what ever allocation they are given by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Same way, it is also foolishness for the Federal government to continue rely on the revenue from oil.

Over the years, it wasn't enough, is it now that we are 'rescued' by the dwindling oil prices that it will be enough?
Rescued in the sense that the global decline in the value of oil has presented us with a golden opportunity to start looking inwards with a view to developing several other sectors of the economy which have laid fallow, untapped and abandoned over the years.

State governors must rise up 'dakkada' and see to it that in a few years time, they won't depend on Federal Allocation.

Again, this is the reason while some of us think, all natural resources in different states should be controlled by the states that have them, then some percentage of what they generate from there would be paid to the Federal Government.

If Nigeria and indeed, Africa must be self-sufficient, then we must practice true federalism.
With this, one bleached-skin man in the name of Donald Trump or whatever, will not vomit poo about us in a century from now.
