thank you very much. it has been rectified it was a hardware (harddrive) issue indeed. thanks once again
Good to know the problem has been fixed. Sometime hardware issues aren't flagged at device manager or as bsod. I understand your system needs a hardware fix and there is no need requesting for logs for time and convinience. Problems with electronics can be very funny at times.

hi!
i have a problem with my pc. it started today. it's hp with OS windows 8. i switched it on. it started and then became blank. i switched it off and then switched it on again. it brought a message "preparing automatic repair" and later "checking disk errors". after that it brought a message again that my pc can't be automatically repaired and it gave two options "restore" or "shutdown". i chose restore. later on it brought another message that it can't be restored that i should try the "advanced recovery option". it's brought some options "continue to windows 8", "recover from disk" or "shut down". i chose continue to windows 8. it came back to the hp wheel loading screen and then went blank again. please, what can i do about it? anybody to help please.

Try to backup your data by removing the hardisk and connect to any other computer. That is a sign of failing hardisk

Make sure d battery is atleast 40% charged, then removed from the laptop and both should be stored in a cool and damp free place

there is an easier way to do this than removing his hard disk(he might just spoil something else)..his hdd or os is either corrupt..
option 1:
adetwin,u can personally supervise the process of him repairing the os(either he brings it to u possibly or he calls u for an incisive on-phone tutorial)
then his files are intact
option2:
i normally run my hard disk regeneration from usb off linux environment on the same laptop...once its successful, the system would just boot normally

Since your laptop came with win7, i advise you to go back to win7 for all the drives/components to work seamlessly

Where did u move ur .dll File into ?
have u tried step three.??

Step 1 : Download the fresh copy of steam_api.dll from download links in the end of this article .
Step 2 : You must know your windows 7 version (64Bit or 32 Bit ) then open C drive then open Windows then open this folder "SysWOW64 " and put
steam_api.dll If you are using Windows7 64bit. If you are using Windows7 32 bit , paste it on System32 .
Step 3 : You must be sure that you put the missing dll file on this path "C:\Windows\SysWOW64 " in case of 64bit and "C:\Windows\System32 " in case of 32 bit .
Step 4 : A dll general base : Make a backup copy of the original files before replacement .
Step 5 : It will require to Overwrite any existing files .
Step 6 : Reboot your Computer and try to open your game again .

Feed me back on this.
pls mine is saying THE PROCEDURE ENTRY POINT STEAMCONTROLLER COULD NOT BE LOCATED IN THE DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY STEAM_API.DLL

there is no need downgrading back to windows 7.just follow these steps:
1..un-installall the current wifi drivers
2.goto to the manufacturere's website
3.search for the model of ur system there...goto the download drivers page
4..check the operating system box for the windows 8 version u installed..then download all the corresponding wifi drivers there
5..if u cant find windows 8 there....just click on windows7 and download the wifi drivers(be sure u are downloading 32bit for 32bit and 64bit for 64bit)
i just checked for u- "windows 8 is not supported"
6..dowload the windows 7 drivers and install ...in some rare cases,before u install;
i..right click and goto properties
ii..goto compactibility and choose "run this program in compactibility mode for...windows 7"
iii..click ok then install
