20. The Rock was cast in the films thanks to a Facebook comment. Dwayne Johnson’s character, Agent Hobbs, was originally supposed to be played by a much older actor, but when director Justin Lin and Diesel saw a Facebook comment talking about how cool it would be to see The Rock go toe-to-toe with Diesel, the two couldn’t resist. They re-worked the part and offered it immediately to the wrestler/actor.

21. Paul started his small screen career as a toddler, when he starred in a commercial for Pampers in the 1970’s.

Paul was a natural actor and started working in television in 1985 at the age of 11, appearing in “Highway to Heaven”, “Touched by an Angel”, “Throb” and others before moving on to the big screen.

24. Paul had a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

When Paul was tragically killed, he was already a brown belt at the Paragon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in California, under instructor Ricardo ‘Franjinha’ Miller. Following Walker’s death, Miller decided to honor Paul by posthumously bequeathing the actor his black belt at a memorial held by his family.

25. Paul was known for having a huge heart and always helped people in any way he could.


Paul was involved in helping many victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and started a charity organization called ‘Reach Out Worldwide‘ which still assists areas affected by natural disasters around the world. Once he was in a jewelry store one day when he noticed a young U.S. military veteran with his fiance shopping for a wedding ring. Paul went to the manager and said “Put that girl’s ring on my tab.”

26. Unfortunately the second victim of the fatal crash, Roger Rodas, did not get as much world-wide attention as Paul.


Roger Rodas was a friend, racing competitor, and co-owner with Paul at a car customization business called “Always Evolving”. Roger was also Paul’s financial advisor, and they performed a lot of charity work together. In fact, they were on their way to a fund raiser event for “Reach Out Worldwide” when they had the accident.

27. Vin Diesel named is daughter “Pauline” in memory of his co-star, friend and brother.
