we would have certainly bought an elite striker to replace him since then. fergie had completed the legwork already. all moyes needed to do was get lewandowski or muller & then sell rooney to the highest bidder.

however, moyes first lapped up the novelty of replacing SAF for the first 2 months. he didn't even make any move to improve the squad. the only player he got that season was fellaini & it was a panic buy after we missed getting herrera.
