I pray for those who have been WAILING ceaselessly on nairaland; That the encounter MisMyColi have will be your portion! That your mourning/wailing shall be turned to Joy! That every bitterness, negativities and pessimism will disappear from your heart! Receive the sight & sounds of the progressives! Let your eyes see good about the present administration, your ears hear good news and your heart understand the working of the government.! Receive the capacity to comprehend the fact that every power that be is ordained by the Lord! Patient shall be your virtue! You will no longer celebrate impunity and corrupt practices anymore! Nigeria will work for your good. I pray for MisMyColi that your repentance will be permanent not only off nairaland but also on nairaland and that you shall win soul for this present administration! We need actions and not prayers. If prayers works for this country, do you not know that Nigeria would have been the best country in the world? Our leaders need to get their acts together and we the followers need to unite and seek for justice, equity, good governance, etc. Although we do not deserve good leadership, judging by how evil and bigoted most of us are, it's never too late to demand for the dividends of democracy. My advise is for us to put our differences behind us, unite and then put the heat on our leaders. Till then, personal prayers will work best. |

omenka: Omenka. I have never cursed any Nigerian President, past, present or future. Even where I have subtly done so, I try to retrace and keep a clean slate, even apologising where necessary. Can the same be said of you? I understand the principle that "an office you do not respect, you can never occupy". I might decide to keep wailing from tomorrow till thy kingdom come. Today, however, I have decided to do things differently. The first three days of every month are ominous/auspicous. Not everyone needs to understand the import of what I've done here. And that's fine by me. |

MizMyColi:I like ur testimony, it's inspiring. I also have the believe that impossible is nothing, just time will make it possible, and I also like the part where u started praying, there was a time I read ur post about your belief in Nature or so, it left a slight impression in my heart that this is an atheist in the making, MizMyColi:I like ur testimony, it's inspiring. But I am impressed you believe in a higher power. Besides I can wait to see the new u after your workout session, remember you are my one Nairalanders crush. MizMyColi: Woman, whenever i look @ these great nations of the world, i knew they didnt get there by relying on God almighty to sought out their issues. I'm not saying u shudnt pray and have faith in God to make Nigeria a better place, but truthfully, is that the way out? Have we not been praying for all these years? |

Iykopee: Well, like I said, people pray for different reasons. I'm not the kind who prays so that God can wield a magic wand and make all our problems go away. No. Prayer has a way of changing my attitude to things. Matter of fact, I don't pray always. But when I do, it usually counts for something. I understand your angle, but one thing you should ask yourself is that, during the time of those corporate prayers, what was the state of mind of those who prayed? Some of them harboured bitterness and unforgiveness. Others were praying and had intentions of going to do worse things tomorrow. My prayers today deepened my understanding that true change starts with me. It helped me totally forgive two of my good friends who happen to be NLers. I was able to see the good in them again. It has helped not to harbour evil thoughts against the persons who are deliberately seeking to anger me on this thread. If that's not a miracle what celebrating, I wonder what is. There's power in prayer, when done rightly. I believe that much. 2 Likes |
