Well, like I said, people pray for different reasons.

I'm not the kind who prays so that God can wield a magic wand and make all our problems go away.
No.

Prayer has a way of changing my attitude to things.
Matter of fact, I don't pray always.
But when I do, it usually counts for something.

I understand your angle, but one thing you should ask yourself is that, during the time of those corporate prayers, what was the state of mind of those who prayed?

Some of them harboured bitterness and unforgiveness.
Others were praying and had intentions of going to do worse things tomorrow.

My prayers today deepened my understanding that true change starts with me.
It helped me totally forgive two of my good friends who happen to be NLers. I was able to see the good in them again.
It has helped not to harbour evil thoughts against the persons who are deliberately seeking to anger me on this thread.

If that's not a miracle what celebrating, I wonder what is. There's power in prayer, when done rightly. I believe that much.

Pray that God help you reduce the excess fat blocking your brain and making u look like an amoeba

MizMyColi:
Good Morning Everyone

I had finished my workout sessions and decided to try out the new earpiece my little Sis "dashed" me, and a Christian song by Frank Edwards was in play.
I thought to seize the opportunity to pray for my loved one who was going through tumultuous times, and before I knew it, I started praying passionately for Nigeria. I prayed for the president! I was in tears.
Those who know my political antecedents here would understand that I am more an anti-Buharist and even more anti-APC....

But this morning, none of that mattered. I was led by something higher to drop all forms of bitterness, and complaining, and reservations; for the love of dear country, for the love of humanity.

Muslims, Christians, Budhists, Atheists, Igbo, Yoruba, PDP, APC, Partyless Opposition, SS, Northerner....No matter who and what you are. Today, I enjoin us‎ to take a little time from our busy schedule and say a word of prayer for our Nigeria and for the leadership of this country. Today, it dawned on me, that it doesn't matter what has been done or undone, every day presents a chance to chart a new course in our history, in our lives.

Let today, the 1st day of November, 2015 start a movement of healing that would sweeps across the fabric of this nation.

Let every structure of negativity and bitterness and unforgiveness that so seeks to continually divide us‎ be pulled down.

Today, irrespective of our religious, political and tribal affiliation, we declare that it is well with Nigeria.
We declare that it is well with our president and every arm of leadership of this nation.

Our Divine Creator will save, Our Divine Creator will deliver.

God bless us all.‎
Amen.

May ALLAH the Almighty Creator bless you, your siblings and the entire Citizens of Nigeria Home and Aboard.
ALLAH renew our Bond,Love and our conviction to succeed as a nation Called Nigeria.
ALLAH make us fulfill our Goals, achievement and the goals of our Founding Fathers.
Bless our founding father were they are and make there soul Rest in piece.
Bless our current leaders and give them the fortitude to do the right thing irrespective of party Affiliation. Give them the heart to feel the poor masses and give them the strenght to lead us through the right path.
Ameen Ameen.

Mizmycoli, You just renewed my love for country Nigeria. Therfore am renewing my Pledge again.
I PLEDGE TO NIGERIA MY COUNTRY. TO FAITHFULL, LOYAL AND HONEST. TO SERVE NIGERIA WITH ALL MY STRENGTH. TO DEFEND HER UNITY, AND UPHOLD HER HONOUR AND GLORY. SO HELP ME GOD.

GOD Bless Nigeria and everyplace else .

Indeed. And let me ask; to which God did you direct your prayers since you once told us you don't have a religion You once announced proudly you were once a Christian, then became an atheist, then xyz. I'm just wondering where you belong right now.

There are millions of deities world over.
I believe that there's a creator of all life and forms.
Most religions and dieties we see are just the humans' way of understanding this being.

A lot has happened since my active days in the religion section.

I'm not sure I have a label yet.

The God I prayed to is the same one Christians pray to...Though they grossly misunderstand him/his intentions.

I believe in the Christ too, and his in dwelling presence in all things, and all flesh.

This has always been my stand.

You have done nothing here than create sentimental thread with the hope of making frontpage.
Treat her like a lady and tune out the personal insult. Her intent with this thread is pure and noble. This is a spiritual thread and not a place you carry over beefs to. Learn to enjoy this moment.

I think it is in order to make your peace here.

i was shocked to see such a hypocritical thread coming from the swine. she is just pulling people's legs. she is an irredeemable buhari hater.

Did you ask her out and she turn you down? Your choice of words are uncalled for. Please be matured enough to taste your words before you spill them.

If she's a Buhari Hater, so what? Is Buhari your father or brother or Uncle? He obviously don't and won't know you-at least, not in this world or even a world to come, so take a chilled pill. She's entitled to her opinion and criticism- even if they're destructive. You coming on her thread to insult and spit venoms speaks volume of your inner traits.

I suppose you should channel your frustration elsewhere, maybe at PDP or something more productive and not at someone who has done you no harm.

Omenka.
I have never cursed any Nigerian President, past, present or future. Even where I have subtly done so, I try to retrace and keep a clean slate, even apologising where necessary.

Can the same be said of you?

I understand the principle that "an office you do not respect, you can never occupy".

I might decide to keep wailing from tomorrow till thy kingdom come.
Today, however, I have decided to do things differently. The first three days of every month are ominous/auspicous.

Not everyone needs to understand the import of what I've done here.
And that's fine by me.
Truly, you do a 'quick manoeuvre' each time you find yourself about to derail...you don't 'CAUSE'..but how many times have you ridiculed the name of PMB just to suite your disposition And you feel that isn't personality-demeaning??
You lack the moral rectitude to open this kinda thread..
Thank God you have finally acknowledged that you are more partizan than before...
A nice suggestion for praying for Nigeria..but are you changed from inside? This was how your beloved Master (GEJ) deceived Nigerians...by saying..'My ambition isn't worth the blood of any Nigerian'..but he was running from pillar to post, visiting ALL sort of personalities and spiritual mediums, just for the sake of re-election

Nigeria does not need prayers. We have had enough if that and more than enough of that.

What we need is a nation of people who are willing to be selfless and put the interest of the country before other things.

What we need are people who just look beyond their cubicle to see into the future and are willing to sacrifice their own present.

What we need are people who will respect the law and are willing to be patient and strong.

What we need are people who will not sacrifice national values on the altar of religion and tribal insanity

What we need are humans with human feeling.

We have prayed enough, now it is time to get off our backsides and get to work

Then it should start with us. Me, you and Every Nigerian. Perhaps then you would know GOD has answered our Prayers.

GOD help us All.
GOD Bless Nigeria and everyplace else .

Never hate your enemies. It makes a mess of your sense of reasoning.

You can contain the hate and wait till you get up and close to be able to behead them as you so wish. That's if they are not armed with guns compared to your outdated model of machete.

For a mere written comment of a total stranger to inspire such hate means you need to work on yourself first. You've got to respect peoples opinions regardless of how stupid it sounds to you.

You are treading a dangerous path if you take this mindset to real life.
