Check if he is tongue tied. A ligament that holds the tongue to the bottom part of his mouth. He can see a specialist to snip it off.

My dear tell your friend that he needn't not to speak whenever his emotions are toiled with, Maturity reflects the level to which one controls his/her emotions. I can easily guess u're in ur teenage. See young fella, insensitively sane people see suicide the way u see it. There's a state of mind that predisposes people to becoming suicidal. If u were imprisoned in one of the detention camps in North Korea, and got served cockroach soup for breakfast, even your guarding angel would advice u to commit suicide. So u see, always put urslf in people's shoes b4 making certain remarks.

I was a one time stammerer while growing up mine was really bad dat I had to throw my head bak and forth before I culd speak, every sentence I tried to make was always broken thereby making my speech uninteresting and discouraged my listeners, it came to a point no one wanted to listen to me anymore but I was not discouraged, my family stood by me and encouraged me greatly especially my eldest sister, I began to talk less and mingle less. However with prayers and anger managment I was able to overcome it, I discovered as I was growing older stammering reduced untill now I speak very fluently without anyone knowing I once had that as a social problem.

If your friend has a good voice, encourage him to start singing. That's going to help him. Stammerers are great people but their temper no be here.

What! Show him a deaf and dumb, if he doesn't appreciate his ability to speak a little and hear clearly then he has a bigger problem that is not stammering.
