Tutorial continues...... After the 12 seconds in the sun, remove the paper artwork from the surface of the mesh and use water to wash off the surface were you removed the paper. Wash the surface of the mesh with water and small foam very well until you feel yourtransfer was successful and the text has appeared very well. photo below.... 1 Like

Please note!... as you are pouring the water on that surface were you removed the paper, you are gradually using the foam to hit that area softly so all the layers covering the texts will be leaving to give way for those texts to appear well. the quicker it washes off depends on how long the mesh was it in the sun for transfer.. 1 Like

After the mesh must have dried, use paper to cover the edges, surfaces of the sides of the mesh.Note:- The use of the paper for the coverings is to prevent stains and spreading of paints on cloths when the major printing starts. photo below... 1 Like 1 Share

Now the main printing on clothes starts..... Major printing on t-shirts starts. Take your mesh and place it on a plain white paper for test print first. pour screen printing ink on the part of the paper that we place dat the side of the mesh. So we do test print.Use your squeegee to spread the ink on the mesh (e.g like someone pushing the ink). After that, raise the mesh and yayyyyy, you have printed. photo below..... 1 Like 1 Share

Then after the paper testing, repeat the procedure on the t-shirt you want to print and you go realize say you don print for shirt. (this case we use the black ink to print) .Note:-You can use the mesh art work to print thousands, millions on t-shirts. (I printed the “Farewell mama” on 108 T-shirts with the constructed artwork on the mesh)

Re: Tutorial : how To Start The Business Of Printing On T-shirts by Chizin(m): 10:41am On Nov 04, 2015 |
LOUIS6:Let me help op answer this: firstly, he has mentioned the materials on the first page of this tutorials. 1. Mesh, 2. Emulsion and sensitizer, 3. Sqeegee, 4. Kerosine, 5. Ink, 6. Water and foam. And you can get majority of them at where they sale Art materials. And for the T.shirt, your client may bring them or you buy for them. You can get quality t.shirts at major markets where clothes are being sold. If you are in Anambra state, you can quality t.shirts at Concord Line in market Onitsha. And for how much to charge per t.shirt, it depends on the quantity of the job, some times I chage N50 per from 1 pic to 100 pics and so on. Hope I tried. 1 Like |

Mouth wide open. You're doing great bro. My questions: 1. Do you place your printed work in front or back of the mess while transferring the image? 2. Can you by pass using papers to fill the empty space on the mess by filling then with emulsion? 3. Can you use one mess for different works? 4. The materials, which market/shop can I easy get them? 5. While printing, do I have to put anything in between the t-shirt to avoid passage of paint to the other side of the shirt? 6. Can I print a work with two or more colors? 7. Can I have your contact, I'll like to know you more. Thanks a million times. "more grace" 2 Likes |

2ndking:Thank you.. for 1... You turn the printed work facing down and place it on the mesh. 2..... "A big no" that system won't work 3... yes you can but must have mastered the work so well that it will work for you. but to an extent and less confusion, one work for a mesh is better. 4..... to get the materials, go to art shop and you will find them. if I may ask, why are you based? 5.... you will only use paper to cover the other part of your mesh apart from the transfered work. I believe you saw the picture I uploaded on how I used paper to cover some parts of the mesh. you don't need to put paper in between the T-shirt ( I don't know if this have answered your question) 6..... Yes you can print with 2 and more colours 7..... send me a pm |

2ndking:As a beginer, you have to put something like ply wood or flat plastic to prevent the ink passing through to the front. |

Well, having considered to go fully into this line of business with hope to possibly make it a career (God willing), i offically made enquiries from a well established art and printing firm today and this was the cost of what to present before i can begin the training. 1) Tuition Fees = N50,000 2) Two crates of Malt drink 3) One crate of mineral 4) Two bottles of wine 5) Workshop fee = N5000 Approximately, the cost is about N80,000 if you add all together. The duration, the man said is 3yrs which i think i consider two long. Pls guys, what do you all think about the above estimation? Is it ok? Note: This man (the MD) is so financially successful in this business. Having all kinds of machines used in the business. Some i learnt cost over N6m. He has built a storey building which i know courtesy of this his business and others i may not know and has Masters in Visual Art. |

Re: Tutorial : how To Start The Business Of Printing On T-shirts by onismate: 12:31am On Nov 05, 2015 |
2ndking:. well there are many places they sell the materials in onitsha, after all when I was doing the work in Asaba, my Oga visits Onitsha to buy the materials when we started until we discovered were they sell them in Asaba.. 5..… it seem you are yet to understand this one.. the paint will not stain the clothes because as the texts have transferred to the mesh, they only have holes that the paint would only pass through. I don't know if you are currently with on this work, maybe we talk on phone for few directions. 6...... learn this particular one first which is called single impression before moving to double impression (multiple colours) |

permanentgrace:No body can take decision for you. The man who thought I and my Oga this business is also rich. I remembered what he always tells me, that am young and I could do better since am a graduate. That he won't teach me everything. The little he will teach me I should take it and go online often to learn it. I could remember he only thought me once and I kept on practicing even with my mistakes, I often visit YouTube alot and download videos which helped me to improve. So if that offer the man is giving you, you think you can benefit greatly from it, you can take a shot at it. I didn't pay to learn it, my Oga facilitated everything while I was walking for him. And I am also learning more too. 2 Likes |

well done Op. I never knew that one can actually make use of kerosene during exposure/transfer process because I always make use of coconut oil. Well, for the amount you can charge per t shirt, I belief my bosses have answered that but I'll also like to add this, the amount you charge as well depends on the type of paint you use. Example, we have opique paint, seritex etc. Opique lasts longer on your material even after several washes than seritex and of course more expensive. Lastly, Retarder/ thinner is another material u must get, you know just to wash your mesh after printing. Nice one Op. 3 Likes 1 Share |
