To the post... U av a good point. I believe d 5k won't solve d needs of our youths. But politicians should be rational with their campaign promises. Why make a promise they can't fulfill?

See some of the promises. Madam, APC promised to pay this to 25 million first year. Thereafter, provide 3 million jobs, thereby reducing the number to 22m. Thereafter, keep reducing until all are employed. N5k is the least of their promises to the very poor. They are already in arrears by N25000 for 25million.

Instead of defending the APC, prevail on Osinbajo to commence payment. We should begin to hold politicians to their promises. As a Pastor Osinbajo should rise to the occasion. It would be a big disgrace to RCCG if Osinbajo reneges on this promise.

Others promises awaiting fulfilment are:

N7,500 to all un employed discharged Youth Corpers
Free meal for all school children
Free education for all
Educational grant to all tertiary institution students

This is not the issue, Y do nt you guys see the truth and say it 4 once,This money is to help towards one who is jobless and help them on simple things in life, ie T fare for Interviews, ofcos it wont feed you or pay your rent, its a sum of money to alleviate some simple stress.The Uk have waht they call Job seekers allowance, the USA have theirs so those the rest of teh western world.We may not be rich but if a potential leader promises it and got into power and try to dodge this responsibilities.Let them explain why they said and and cannot do the needful, for all its worth.they should do their research B4 promising.

The 5k thing even to the poorest amongst us won't solve the problem. There is abject poverty in the land, a land of plenty. Anyway, Nigerian youths seem to be waking up from years of deceit... Again, use common sense. Firstly, the govt has not denied the promise to the poorest. Secondly, the govt never said within the first year of its administration. Lastly, the govt doesn't have to fulfil that promise if it realizes it cannot meet up. Not all campaign promises are fulfilled. No where in d world has it ever happened that all campaign promises are fulfilled. So, if this one will go unfulfilled, I no go mind as far as the core promises are delivered.

Go ask APC whether they were drunk when making careless statement. You are right about it but how will the government go about if when the system is totally corrupt. The N5,000 stipend is wasted effort if they should go ahead because it wouldn't get to the right persons.
Constant power supply would go along way to reduce unemployment in Nigeria because more skills acquired require the use of power supply.

Let's look at it from another perspective, the APC promised 3 million jobs but up till now, I can boldly say that over 20,000 people have lost their jobs since May 29, so how do you expect Nigerians to hope on a directionless government that may not even successfully create up to 40,000 jobs throughout it's four years rule?

The point im actually making is that, in the APC manifesto the promised us both jobs and 5k. Even if they provide 1million jobs today, tomorrow people will still be clamoring for jobs. Unemployment is a big problem even in the best of societies. I'm not saying they shouldn't make efforts towards curbing unemployment. All I'm saying is If they cant provide 5k, why do you think they'd provide jobs?

You don't think APC and FG owe Nigerians an apology for lying to them about everything?... do you know the hardship APC put us through during the electioneering process because they wanted to make a point? They hoarded fuel, infiltrated PHCN, politicized BH and blew corruption outta proportion. Now they wanna manage the monsters they created and has lost grip of control. What happened to "I can't remember when I powered my gen" speeches. Why do I get the feeling that so far Buhari has only been consolidating on the transformation agenda of Gej? Look the economy was bad, how is it now after 5months, are you aware of how many pple who has lost jobs for the past 5months, so it's clear they have no clue as to how to create those 700k instant jobs kid!. 5000naira was a campaign promise, so we have no right to demand for that too? If you can't grab the whole cow, just try and cut the tail!

This is total rubbish? What's your business with what 5k can do for us? 5 is very important to us. It's the promise that got most of us to vote for Buhari. He shouldn't turn away now

Come see comments on twitter! I was just laughing at the office. During the campaigns, I had supported and canvassed for a debate between all contestants were issues like these will be debated and put on a stress test to see how it will fare. But the APC guys here rebuffed every move, fiercely resisting it.

I even did a rough estimate of the cost of just spending 5k on millions of Nigerians and questioned the rationality or justification for a big huge white elephant project considering our revenue generation and the operating environment.

I did a note about the ignorance and 'play play' attitude of Nigerians. I understand we're a very sociable set of folks but there must be limits especially when it involves our future. But we were not interested except for the craze and rave of the moment.

Well, I believe many are beginning to inform themselves the proper way and asking questions too. I believe next time, we won't take such rubbissh campaign nonsence again.

APC wanting to give 5k is like the stories about tortoise and his escapades that never existed.

If govt decides to sponsor you into apprenticeship, after graduation, how will you get the funds to establish yourself?You will still need money to start it.I have done couple of apprentices and graduated.Getting the money to start the job is hell.So it's not about skill acquisition alone bro.

What database do you need? Just use INEC PVC database. Better still commence registration with PVC for all those not employed
