Are they taking panadol for another man's headache? Or is it the "voice of Jacob and hands of Esau?" Two lawyers, who are subscribers to MTN, have filed a legal suit against the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) as first respondent and MTN Nigeria as second respondent, over the N1.04 trillion fine imposed on MTN by NCC on SIM card deactivation. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/n1-04trn-fine-nigerian-lawyers-challenge-ncc-in-court/225034/ lalasticlala, dominique 4 Likes 4 Shares |

This case makes a lot of sense provided the various subscribers will benefit from all those cash NCC has been collecting since time immemorial. I beg let the suing continue. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Until the court rules that they do not have locus standi to challenge NCC in the matter of fines as they are neither the board of MTN nor have a controlling interest in the company. As for asking them about the fines they have collected in the past, they should petition the EFCC. 17 Likes |

If the reverse was the case, would SA lawyers challenge their national regulatory body? I weak for this our country. If the fine is legally right, let them pay it and have peace of mind, after all, they made that money from Nigerians. 22 Likes 1 Share |
