Fulaman198: I have an interview coming up I'm a bit nervous about so I'm brushing up on a project I've been working on for extra oomph...I still wanted to keep my weekend, tho. I'll tell you all about it, Fula. 1 Like |

Fulaman198: It isn't a job interview. I actually like my job, lol. In fact, if I can just get into the program, I'd be happy to stay on their payroll throughout for extra cushioning - they're phenomenallyy flexible. I'm usually amply confident with interviews, but its for my Masters, and they have a limited # of spots open. I've shadowed extensively with doctors and PAs, and it seems a sizeable portion of the PAs I've come across didn't get into their programs on first attempt. That makes me nervous af despite the fact that my grades, etc, are almost impeccable. I've managed to build, rather significantly, considering, on my research thesis (even though it technically isn't due for another two years), and I'm flirting with idea of presenting my progress in a portfolio for a little extra oomph, but I've been getting mixed feedback on the idea. I'll def tell you more. I know I keep saying that, but its been rough and I've been having issues with my acc e-mail for NL. I appreciate your vote of confidence, Fula 3 Likes |

EnlightenedSoul: Loll no problem miss . Don't be afraid to do your masters at a different school, you are exceptionally bright, therefore, I believe in all honesty that you will succeed and even exceed your own expectations for yourself. Don't be bummed out if the school says no (even though I think they will accept you into their programme.) Remember, there are plenty of schools who I'm sure would be more than obliged to accept you into their programme. 1 Like |

Fulaman198: Gosh, I hope so. I'm not completely devoid of confidence, but I can't help it when I get the jitters, lol. No, it has to be this program. If I don't get in, I'll flip a switch for awhile and reapply next time 'round. 1 Like |

Fulaman198: That's the typical human cop out for mediocrity. |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Fulaman198(m): 8:45am On Nov 06, 2015 |
EnlightenedSoul: I'm a perfectionist, and I can tell you it's not a cop out for mediocrity. Every single day, I dream about becoming Superman, Goku, etc. etc. Someone whom is without peer in physical prowess and book smarts. Often, my friends remind me that "I'm only human". I still have a long way in life and I still want to achieve a Ph.D. before the age of 35. So I'm very ambitious by nature, but there are times I make mistakes. However, I learn from them. 1 Like |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Nobody: 9:37am On Nov 06, 2015 |
Fulaman198: Being a perfectionist myself, I understand you. But generally speaking, it really is a disturbingly common cop out for mediocrity. People habitually use the lines "We all have flaws", "I'm only human", and "No one's perfect" as a way to justify their ills and dwell in a state of disarray, damaged in life and shytty in outlook. They often tend to resign and confine themselves to their imperfections. It's good to have friends that'll bring you down to earth when you over extend yourself at times, but beware the enemy of progress - it wears that same we-all-have-flaws mask, and it outnumbers. If there's no one that is the epitome of perfection, there are many who come pretty darn close. And by no accident. Best of luck with your ambitions, of course. I know you'll get there 2 Likes |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Fulaman198(m): 5:21pm On Nov 06, 2015 |
EnlightenedSoul: Thank you sweetheart, I appreciate the fact that you never settle for less than perfect. I will accomplish my ambitions, I will not be satisfied if I don't. I want to play a significant role in Nigeria's rise to success as well. Tbh (to be honest), I think that those excuses and statements are quite annoying. I never tell my friends that because I don't want to offend them. But I just can't sit back and watch my life mould itself into something I did not envision it to be. I want to become great (but I have to also remain modest at the same time as I move into the realm of greatness). To me, I don't see boulders, I only see what's in the skies which equates to nothing but infinity. I believe that no matter whom you are, you must reach for the stars. Don't allow anything (or anyone) to hold you back from your cherished ambitions and dreams. Like other Nigerians tell me an engineer/scientist, "the way you make your bed so shall you lie on it". I agree with their statement. If I make my bed rough for myself, I won't aspire to such great heights. Walah we must always remember that we were all placed on this world for a reason. What do you think the reason you are here is? Mine is to follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest African leaders of all time, Sankara, Mandela, Ghaddafi, etc etc. I want to modernise and make Nigeria and other African nations a symbol of power and prosperity. When the Western world mentions the African continent, they will see it as a force to be reckoned with. The will see it in the same light as they see Asian nations. The dreams will never end. Even if people want me to lower my standards, it won't happen. I'll simply smile and thank them for their advice, but in reality I will still follow my own path. In closing, tiddo yo d'addo (which in Fulfulde means you must suffer or experience some form of hardship to succeed.) 1 Like |

Re: I Am Still Alive by Nobody: 5:36pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
Puntite: Uff. Direct contradiction @ bold, ya doqon . The second motion I can def agree with, and thank "god" a sizeable number of us don't actually believe in it, and thus haven't been subjected to that backward bullshyt. Wisqkaan waaxxid iyo xayawaanyaahhow baas eh, dhaqankaagge so-called "quruxda bhadaan" la wareeg ee waliiibo waass(!) while you're at it. But yaaba og inaa adnaa guuskhaaga la dhiiraay so of course you'd agree, because waxaad waassii karrtid abaa iska yarr! - sorry. |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Puntite: 6:02pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
EnlightenedSoul: Believe in it? There is nothing wrong with Fircooni Gudnis. Its aestheticly pleasing and healthy hygenic nothing wrong with it. Its our beautiful culture that serves us free from Aids that befalls much of FUFU Africa. If its backward why do they do the same in europe? and encourage it? Hundreds of girls aged 14 or under are having 'designer vagina' surgery on the NHS http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2236675/Hundreds-girls-aged-14-having-designer-vagina-surgery-NHS.html Kintirka haanoolato was a sarcastic remark btw. Yes i have circumzized guus just look you have circumsized kintir. Dont see your point. Too much baruur iyo hilib isnt good nor good to look at. |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Nobody: 6:28pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
Puntite: I think you heard me the first time. Do not align my person with your ills, BS, and backward gheeljeeree thinking, warya. Aadi hadaa laguu dhiiraay guuskhaga, iga ralaayahow on behalf of the freaks that did that to you, but anii ha igu dharin! I'm no victim, and not all of us believe in that shyt! |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Puntite: 6:42pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
EnlightenedSoul: its not a matter of hearing you, since you never based any fact. You probably one of those westernized Xalimos who hear propaganda that Fircooni Gudnis is barbaric and backwards, while the same gaalos you worship are having the procedure done on their young girls. Women who have Fircooni gudnis are not mutilated victims or suvivors. Get your Facts right!! |
Re: I Am Still Alive by Nobody: 6:51pm On Nov 12, 2015 |
Puntite: It has nothing whatsoever to do with westernization - there are sizeable groups of people who simply don't practice that barbaric throwaway of fircoonic civilization going back to the time itself, or generations at least. The parallels you're trying to throw together are idi.otic and laughable at best. Speak for your dhiiraan guuus, yes, but not your nonexistent vagina, danyeeryahow. |
