STOP taking we Nigerians for FOOLS please!

So, the account has NO NAME?
So the account was opened by a GHOST?
So the Account officer who opened the account ...did "documentation" for a GHOST, including the picture of the GHOST?
So, the Money-laundering Reporting for that account which will "activate" for funds over #500,000, suddenly became inactive, by itself?
So, the Branch Manager who reviews the CABAL (Customer Accnt Balance printout failed to see such amount?
So the person who initiated the transfer was high on Drugs?
So, the ACCRUING INTEREST ON THAT DEPOSIT WAS PAID TO A GHOST......... and WITHDRAWN BY A GHOST?

Issokay Oooo...........Dearis God but no one should think we are fooled in anyway.

It is this kind of criminality that EFCC should be using to score "cheap point".... by jailing everyone involved ASAP.

as it stands, the holder of the account is unknown, the permanent secretary ia new in office, the bank is not cooperating with the bureau, he listed the names of those he think they ought to know about it, as it stands, a court needs to order first bank to release the details of the account.

Mheeennnn... Unless we go the china way, capital punishment for any corrupt politician, capital punishment for the entire family of the politician. If not that, i dont see Nigeria getting rid of corruption..

If the capital punishment will also affect the family of the culprit. Thats when you'll hear each politician's wife telling their husbands ''pls, dont steal govt money, pls, am not ready to die, look at our beautiful children, they're not ready to die as well. Whatever is your salary, let it be okay for you. Pls, i beg you''

mheeennnn... Capital punishment, where art thou!!
Agree with you 100%!

Until we start tying such thieves to the barrel at bar beach ...and shoot them in the presence of all (as was the case during Muritala and Obasanjo's military regime), we will continue to experience this kind of "traumatic looting"!

How can someone keep peoples money in a fixed account, while the owners are dying of hunger..... after they have worked their azz-off?

This wickedness must come to an end.

President Buhari, you cant just keep quiet over these sort of things..... all in the name of "Democracy and separation of Power".
You are the President and if you dont do something ...or make those that are supposed to "do something" to do their work of be fired, then Sir, YOU ARE COMPLICIT.

END OF STORY!

They need to do a mass arrest of the bank hierarchy, from Branch Manager, to the Accounts officer.

These TWO know the owner of that Account and when tortured, they will "sing".

But l can bet that the top echelon of the bank (Regional heads upwards) have a hand in this.

There is no "ghost" in banking!
Everyone directly and remotely concerned should be jailed........... to serve as a deterrence for would-be looters.

Breaking: Benue reaches agreement with workers to alternate payment of salaries

Benue State Government has reached an agreement with primary school teachers and local government workers to alternate the payment of their salaries for the months of October and November 2015.

A statement by the information officer of the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Andrew Iorkyaa quoted the Adviser to the state Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Titus Zam as saying that the state government has reached an agreement with the state chapters of Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT and the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE to alternate the payment of salaries between teachers and staff of local government councils in view of dwindling allocations from the federation account.

Under the arrangement, the allocation for the month of October will be used for the payment of the salaries of teachers while that of November will be used to pay local government staff thereby resulting into automatic one month areas for both categories of workers by the end of this month.

Nobody talks about the level of corruption in Nigerian banks. Without the help our banks, most of these acts of corruption by government officials will not be possible. Nigerian banks are responsible for escalating corruption in this country. They aid, incubate and protect corrupt financial transactions by government officials.

Some banks have been recently found to be hiding money meant to be paid into the TSA!. If Buhari is serious about the war against corruption he should start withdrawing the license of some banks. Some of them are not even worth to be called a bank.

One of my first posts on Nairaland. The role of banks in corruption and the need for tough anti-laundering laws. Today MTN is being fined for keeping unregistered numbers active while banks get no rap for keeping stolen loot, laundering alibaba treasury and running the accounts and business interests of felons.

When the Enron saga broke it was not only Bernie Madoff that went. The Feds ensured that everyone who knowingly aided and abetted went to jail as well or received hefty fines. No one, I repeat no one went scott free. In Nigeria it is always only the principal that gets the heat. His associates whether individuals, corporates or institutional walk free obviously to regroup and disorganise the system.

It is only in Nigeria you hear, 'but he is only a secretary, he merely lodged oga's cheque....' but he obviously knew what oga was doing and most likely got his crumbs from oga's table. But worst of all the 'ordinary green shrub secretary today will become 'a permanent wild bush secretary tomorrow' and the chance to break the viscious corruption cycle is lost.

It is these things we see and conclude that fighting corruption in Nigeria is a pathetic waste of time if fundamental, structural changes are not made to this country, it people and its principles.

Nigerians are very hypocritical and its our collective insincerity that has prevented our progress. There will be some, as vocal as budgies singing the anti-corruption songs working in these banks and ranting and raving on Nairaland yet, almighty yet they know, they know that they know and know the known.....that, that cheque they are given, that transfer they are initiating, that account they are managing is nothing but stolen funds someone is sweating, crying, bleeding and dying for. Can't they see that in decent climes my white bankers will question almost every lodgement. Can't they read the notices they themselves place that 'they are obliged to report any lodgement above 5 million to the CBN. Are they not criminals as well for not doing that. Shame.
