@LadyG A friend forgot to update is profile and the previous DS160 number was on it now he can't change it and interview is tomorrow and also the call centers are closed. Do you think they can do something about his predicament even though his interview time is 10:30am tomorrow.

@seyewest Absolutely no idea.
BUT when I applied I forgot to add my middle name. During the interview, the nice vo said she was going to 'open' my application and I went out to edit my form.
So I guess your friend can indicate that his ds 160 isn't the current one and hope he's allowed time /opportunity to rectify it
Btw, all these your 'friends' u be agent?

To GOD be glorify. I got it by God's favor n this thread is really helpful.
no travel history(i've bin to Ghana, Senegal though but that's just like someone wey travel go nasarawa n lafia respectively jwo), i'm a single young man. i never thought i could get it. i was planning SA or Dubai for my xmas holiday, My inner mind told me try US now. i laugh within my self, this bobo no dey cease to amaze me sha, e no dey like start with small something. That's me though, I always love to go the best things in life, I don't like settling for less. so one faithful morning i ask a colleague at work how i can go about US visit visa maybe he knows any trusted travel agency around, he said i can do it my self that i shouldn't try giving my money to any agent, he told me go to GTB. Good one, of their BM is a good friend, i called him, & he said its just 31500, so cheap. i transferred the money to him and he got it for me, i went to his place later in the night and we filled out all necessary information, and submitted the application. The embassy gave me an appointment for 10th of November, my friend told me they rarely give single guys the visa, because they tend not have a physical home tie. He's married with 2kids, He always travel to the US every xmas with his family. I said he's trying to intimidate me because i'm still a bachelor. I told him i'll break the jinx of not giving single guys, he also told me to go through nairaland travel section, USA VISA THREAD.

so on behalf of the silent readers association i want to say a big thank you to all that have dropped one important comment or the other. big shout out to ladyguinivere and others. you're doing a great job here. may God bless you abundantly IJN.

transcript shortly.

LadyGuinivere:

1. The US and UK are different countries. A refusal to one country Does not mean automatic refusal to other
However, you muust convince the VO that you will return to nigeria if you are Granted visa. Sometimes , they look at previous travel history as a guide.
2. Under no circumstance however should u lie about the Refusals

I need your assistance.
I want to travel with my fiancée on a holiday to the US. Neither of us has travelled out before. I have been looking for a reliable agent until I checked this your thread.
Please how do I go about it?

To get a date of interview 2 days after u pay? I sincerely doubt it unless u be James Bond. Dates wait for nobody

Why don't u just take your time and do everything when u are ready?

Why did you say you were going with your Lithuanian spouse if you answered no when he asked if you were married.

Not sure whether that's why you were refused. But I do know that body language and checks on your form prior to interview matter. Besides if you had a Lithuanian residency card and you were not in the middle of your studies then it may have been approved.

Before I give my opinion, I'd like to remind u, that is exactly what it is, my opinion and nothing more.
I simply think the vo was not just satisified u were Genuine shikena. He was looking for a certain Bang! to sway him in your favour.
He checked if u could speak the language (to weigh your true relationship with wifey). And what u came up with was something u can generally learn in the market when u go shopping. 'Hello, do u speak English?' Isn't exactly something ud have picked up from a lovey dovey marriage.
2.No kids. Nothing to bring u back to Lithunian
I assume u got married after u went for your msc? Who's to say u won't divorce aunty Lithunia and Marry sisi US?
Finally I always say be sure to know how your 'inviter' entered us mae e no use em reggae spoil your blues. How did ur cousin gain Status?
Have u considered applying with madam? What else do u have as a tie to lithuan apart from msc and madam? Any investments? Jointly owned property? Cos I belive the vo wasn't just satisfied u had any ties that couldn't be severred in the kain lithuan.
Sorry for d denial and apologies if any of my Observations were offensive

Thanks for your response, spouse in this sense i think means "to marry" as it was listed on the list of who are you travelling with? in DS-160 form together with husband, wife and some other stuffs. also, i am presently in the 3rd quarter of my MSc prog, i wonder why the refusal anyways.
I answered all questions with smiles and he was also smiling back and nodding his head in affirmation to most of my responses.
Still never know why dem refuse me sha oooo smiley

So what do you think i need put in place before applying again?

^^^@hopy really don't like the phrase 'put in place' cos it seems like one will manufacture what dosent exist.
I suggest u and madam go on a vacation together before your next application and consider learning the language jor cheesy
Something personal like ' your food tasted lovely' .
VOs are trained to infer. Every question is intended to elicit an info which if they ask u directly ud give a favourable answer.
For egs to check how close of a marriage u have, he asked if u could speak the language.Even though u don't speak the language 100 percent, both of must have a middle ground at least. That's Why I said the choice of what u said was wrong.
Convince the vo your marriage isn't a sham and ur A step closer to success.

U know the cool thing about reapplication? If ur details are true, u most likely fill d same details.Consistency helps.
Let me give u an example. I applied the ist time. Was denied. Was asked If I had any properties then. I said yes. A piece of land in abuja.
Next time I applied, I got the visa.No mention of the land. Used visa and renewed. Husband goes to apply like 4years later. They ask him ' do u have any land?' He says yes, in abuja. And the vo nods and smiles. And that's the last question before pick up your visa.
When people say the vo typed and typed, what do people think they are typing? Every thing u said is being documented and kept as record. The VO already has his descion in his mind.
