The NAF or defense HQ never lied or gave false information to the public about a missing jet. you can not come to conclusion on a missing personnel/aircraft untill there is concrete evidence or yet confirmed.
A NAF HELO once crash in an enemy territory and there bodies where not found at the crash site. for days the crew could not be declared MIA or KIA. Several days later the pilot and the flight engineer made it back to safety days later. Experience as thought us not be hasty in given information or situational awareness on an operation that goes wrong.
