There is a reason that Ajimobi got re-elected(a feat which had never happened before) and it is not because he spent 4 years doing nothing. He is one of the governors who are less and less interested in getting into media hype and thibgs like that.

Yes in every place, there is room for improvement but Ajimobi has done well to improve way Onto state looks and he had a lot of capital projects too.

It is never late to set policies and this night just be a continuation o policy already set

Ajimobi would not have won if the opposition was united, say it was just him against Ladoja, he would have lost squarely. Presently, Ajimobi is failing and failing bad, that man has done nothing in terms of education and all the things we praised him for initially like the environment and infrastructural development have completely slowed down or retrogressed in some cases. For me, the man is a failure.

Ajimobi got elected for two main reasons which are unconnected to his mediocre performance:
1. His challengers were not necessarily better alternatives. Ladoja was revealed to have secretly returned stolen monies through EFCC and people rightly became disappointed in him. Akala and Folarin are nothing to write home about not to talk of Makinde who was a novice at that level.

2. Popularity of Sai Buhari and his change mantra really helped him and many others like him then.

My major worries are beyond his tenure. They extend to finding a better governor after him.

Makinde will surely do better than him, he was the most articulate during the debates and had some good ideas on developing the state and improving the educational standards.

But here is one of the few things Ajimobi impressed me with.

The buses as well are good initiatives but I notice that fewer and fewer of them remain on the roads.

OnReflection:

Your make a lot of points that are valid Gbawe. But if we ignore some of intemperate language used, so do others.

As one of the defenders of the commonwealth on these boards, I certainly stand by my earlier appraisal of Ogbeni.

I was one of ogbeni Aregbe's greatest supporters, to begin with.
But if you ask me for an appraisal of his efforts in the area of public administration, today, it is without equivocation that I would locate him as one of the least effectual leaders in the South West. While I can cite numerous examples of what informs my current view, let me draw on two that do not focus unduly on the state's current financial crises.

(1) Osun state has made the least effort to enshrine a framework of e-government.
- Budgets are hardly ever made public.
- Policy documents are scant
In sum, fiscal transparency is none existent

(2) The implementation of Opon Imo, an initiative which has proved to be both unsustainable and unfit for purpose, was a total sham.
- While we heralded this feat with great aplomb at the time, the truth is; no comphenesive trial was ever carried out.
- Difficult questions which might have helped to address stakeholder concern were fobbed off, in search of "a first" for Osun.
- When the state's chapter of the opposition party (PDP) questioned the involvement of Kabiru Aregbesola in this scheme, a telling response (copied in below) was provided by the governor

Source: http://www.osundefender.org/?p=113070

Please pay close attention to the statement I highlighted and tell me your sensibilities aren't offended by the lame attempt to rationalise nepotism.

P.S - I have deliberately limited my criticism to these two examples because I think Ogbeni is beleaguered enough as it is, at the moment.
You are right on point bro...
I was in Osun state during the electioneering process that ushered in Aregbe for the second time and I was privileged to interact closely with the big wigs in both PDP and APC. I must admit that PDP shot itself in the foot by fielding the wrong candidate, if the party had given Adeleke/Oke the ticket Aregbe would have lost. The financial problems in the state didn't just start now, it actually started mid way in the first term, the governor had to borrow heavily to mask it, make the state appear okay and also fund a very expensive second term campaign. Majority of Osun people knew this but had no choice than to vote him because he was the ''better option''.
It's becoming worse now because loan repayment is hitting the state hard leaving legions of abandoned projects with no hope of completion.
I pity the person that will take over from Aregbe though...

After so many un-completed projects....
And ajimobi rigged the election... So Ajimobi doing things in the state I can't see it happen.... Because Ajimobi I know is not of everyone... Don't stay in Ibadan and talk of Ajimobi alone go to other part of the state you will hear story wey you no go fit talk.. Of him again

Fam, can you now see why I can't stand a lot of Yoruba folks? I keep saying Yoruba folks are most diabolical and two-faced folks ever. This thread is getting clearer now. Apart from the outsiders, the enemies within are now showing who they're. Gbawe's post has shed a lot of light on the politics they played behind the scene. The real mastermind of what went are starting to show their true colours. The snakes, jakes, and chameleons. And I've lost the little respect I've for the Gbawe guy.

Must everyone agree this guy's sycophancy and are we getting paid for posting like you do? His opinions are paid for and our opinions are based wanting the best for Yorubas and Yorubaland. If you don't like what's happening on the thread - you can create ya own thread and celebrate whoever/the-mediocrity/non-achievement you want to celebrate. Is that too much to do? Why go behind the scene and use ya influence/resources to put a gag order on what other folks are doing? What type of idiocy is that on an online forum where folks are allowed to create their own threads freely without interference? Why force ya will on this one?

The average black man is cursed and the crab in bucket mentality is the reason why we're at the bottom of the totem pole of everything. That's why I always talk about enemies within and this thread exemplified it. Just go back in history from slavery, to colonisation, to post-colonisation, to post-slavery, to the dark periods of African civil wars era, to today - the bane of the black man has always been the enemies within. The bastards of a party. Even Yorubaland should never have been colonised cos a united Yorubaland would've repelled the colonial army. And the same thing that happened on this thread, is the same reason why Yorubaland was colonised and why we're stuck in Nigeria today.

I was going to leave this thread but what I just saw from Gbawe and the others broke my heart. This thread has to die. If we can't use the thread - they won't be able to use it as well.

I dare anyone to delete/block this post and I shall spam the next 25 pages of this thread with the same post. Try me.

Also, keep banning "nobody" cos I'm going to be ghosting all through. Suckers.

according to some folks here, bastards are Yoruba culture, so what are you complaining about?

This is shymex, right?

Adebayo “The Beast” Akinfenwa (UK)
recently visited the Guinness World
Records headquarters in London
where he was presented with an
official certificate for his title Strongest
player in the FIFA videogame series
and challenged to some exciting
record attempts.
The record was based upon the FIFA
videogame titles FIFA 12 (strength
rating 97), FIFA 13 (99), FIFA 14 (97)
and FIFA 16 (98), accruing an average
strength rating of 97.6. In the most
recent iteration, experts had graded
Akinfenwa’s strength stats at 98 out of
99, two more than Dinamo Moskva’s
Christopher Samba.
Commenting on his award, the
professional footballer who plays for
AFC Wimbledon said: “People talk
about size, but my stats speak for
themselves…There aint nobody
stronger than me out there!”
Editor of the Guinness World Records
Gamer’s Edition, Stephen Daultrey
said: “Very few footballers repeatedly
top-score in FIFA ratings unless
they're Messi or Ronaldo, so it’s
fantastic that a lower-league English
player has been recognised by
experts as the highest-strength player
on four occasions. Akinfenwa has
become a real cult star off the back of
his presence in FIFA. With his
unconventional footballing physique
and playing style, it’s very likely that
Akinfenwa is the strongest pound-for-
pound pro currently in the game –
just as FIFA repeatedly claims."
While he was in the office, The Beast
attempted the title Fastest time to
score against a computer on FIFA 16,
though despite several tries fell short
of the 33.06 minimum record to beat.
Adebayo gamely took up the call to
attempt some classic records with
LEGO® and Mr Potato Head.
His dexterity skills were put to the test
with the tallest Lego® structure built
in thirty seconds achieving a
respectable 21, just 7 blocks short of
the record title. Ade also made a
valiant effort to achieve the fastest
time to assemble Mr Potato Head.
Ade Akinfenwa’s FIFA record will
appear in the Guinness World Records
