I am Igbo
I am NOT pro Biafra
This is because I believe the Igbos are better in a united Nigeria. Even though the south East are homogeneous people with close language and culture which qualifies us as a country, geographical and economic factors does not favour this position.
But the right to self determination is a fundamental human right and shouldn't be denied anyone. Protests and marches are markings of democracy the world over.

This is why I blame the unit of 7 soldiers stationed at the onitsha end of the niger bridge for the chaos that visited onitsha these past two days. In recent weeks, there has been uneasy calm around the eastern states following the detention and trial of Nnamdi Kanu. There has been peaceful marches and demonstrations on every day he has appeared in court. So it was on tuesday the 1st, a group of IPOB members numbering more than 100 were on a march to asaba. They were stopped at the bridge head by these soldiers who refused them passage. The soldiers barricaded the road and demand they move back or be shot at, the men rather than move decided to block the entire Road until they were granted access. Things happened quickly from there and within 40mins there were more than 1000 men at the site demonstrating. When the soldiers realized they were outnumbered and told them to continue, the IPOB group decided to lay seine on the road and block all traffic. This went till the early hours of wednesday before they were dislodged by JTF with the resultant death and the very violent protests of the day.
If the first team of soldiers had exercised restraint and allowed a peaceful demonstration to go on, the resultant violence and chaos would have been avoided.

To my brothers, we would definitely lose more in a war of burning goods and properties of other tribes in our location. Protests against the detention of Nnamdi Kanu and peaceful marches in support of Biafra are constitutional rights but they should not trample on other people s right. In my opinion, I think what we need most at this time is Integration in mainstream Nigeria politics. This we can achieve by building alliances with other tribes and regions. When we achieve this feat having empowered ourselves politically and economically, we can now determine which way to go.

God bless us all

Your Nigerian Government has killed not less than 6 Biafran protesters started after Kanu was arrested, before the mayhem in Onitsha today. How many times did you call your Government to other for killing peaceful unarmed protesters? IPOB are not carrying guns but your Nigerian police that can use rubber bullets, tear gas and other non lethal means as is used in civilised countries decided to use live ammunition on unarmed civilians. And you are online talking rubbish

I am actually blaming agents of government for letting the crisis degenerate to this level. IPOB has a right to assemble and protest peacefully and the authorities have to ensure security.
All I am saying is, for every destroyed maiguard kiosk that is worth less than 20,000, there are hundreds of businesses with millions up north that are at risk.
We just have to tread carefully.

^^^Don't mind the guy bros!

I can't understand how a full-blooded Igbo can reason like these people walahi! Besides the lawless murderous bloodthirsty Nigerian state, i think these people are another big problem in our match to freedom!

I said to myself 'here's another one' when the fool started talking of building bridges with the same despicable animals that wish us dead and who have conspired (right from the uncivil war to date) to politically, economically and socially marginalize us out of pure ethno-religious inspired bigotry! I guess the fool has seen how his buhari and apc have been building bridges with Ndigbo!?

Any Igbo, after seeing the way this evil party and their president have treated Ndigbo, yet still says we should warm up to them is one naive and gullible Igbo we can do without!

So funny,, every year igbos are planning way forward in Nigeria , igbos are planning how to integrate into Nigerian politics, igbos want to build burned bridges to other ethnics, for over 50years now igbos are still planning way forward in Nigeria. For how long can they continue to plan way forward in a country that never wanted nor like your progression. As for those biafrans that keep sitting on the fence forming intellectuals and am a property owner why ur region for years has been going through depression, my word to you Not to worry, your contribution to the struggle atleast you will be used as a collateral damage for the struggle.
