Those guys are comedians really. My wife had to ask what happened as I was laughing really hard on reading those posts.
Funny enough, when the draw was made then, everyone including me tipped Man U as the group winner as many of them even confessed it was one of the easiest group. Please, tell them. Epl is not in decline but is rather the best and the strongest league in the world with world best players playing competitively to paint the league as the most entertaining one. That's what they love to hear.

A shame to Man United is a shame to EPL. 3 la liga teams topped their groups and 1 more may join them today. But when we see the likes of Kiev, Olympiakos, struggling with Chelsea and Arsenal respectively on the final day of group stage, you still will come and quote 2012.

Receive sense.

But a shame to sevilla and valencia who were beaten home and away by epl and russian clubs is not a shame to la liga, right? That is my problem with you, your argument is illogical. If you use one team performance to judge a league as you did in the post i reacted to cos man utd lost out of ucl, then i dont know what to call you. I am not arguing the fact that epl is on a decline with you, using a man utd ouster as you initially did made mince meat of your soccer knowledge.

philfearon:

I hate to say this, but your poor and limited knowledge on Spanish club history and football politics is totally clouding your judgement..

The knowledge of spanish club history and football politics only reside in your brain. When barca was winning matches/trophies with ojoros, nobody stripped them of the laurels, but you guys want us to do same to real madrid, right? That's your headache not FIFA and IFHS who gave real madrid the best club of the century. It's painful to barca fans but that's the fact and what everyone must work with. When pique and etoo turned themselves to goalkeepers stopping balls with their hands, sergio busquets rolling on the ground to get matching orders given to oppponents and barcelona was renamed uefalona, none of you saw it as politics. The fact remains real madrid is the biggest and most successful club of last century, you can't use performances of barcelona in a decade to nullify that of a century. It makes you sound like a dolt.

You don't need to edit my moniker in order to escape my response, thats a low from you. You did that because of your twisting my stand. I reacted to what debroslink said below which was senseless, because based on the decline we are supposed not to see any epl team beating a la liga outfit let alone doing it home and away. Below is how debroslink defined epl declining, did it make sense to you too?using a team ouster to define it. Epl is on a decline but not at a ridiculous level some fools here paint it. Man city showed that by beating sevilla, the madrid and barca slayers home and away. The point here is you dont use one team performance to define it.

Debroslink:

Story for the Devils. From your analogy, Man city will destroy Barca and Madrid right?

When we say EPL is on a decline, we mean the best club in EPL history spent 300m euros, but could not qualify from a group consisting of CSKA, PSV and Wolfsburg. What a shame!

ElDeeVee:
Its easy for you to remove Di Steafano's five UCL but you find it hard to remove your dubious UCL wins in 06,09 and 11. You used 12 men to play against virtually all teams.
In 2005, in a second round match against chelsea, barca coach (Frank Rijkard) was seen coming out of the referee's (Anders Frisk) room during the break.
Result: The referee gave Drogba a red card within 10 mins of restart and the rest is history.

The officiating in 2009 against Chelsea was tagged as one of poorest match officiating in UCL history. We know what happened.

Do you know that in a quarter final match against AC Milan, Barcelona were awarded a penalty when the ball was NOT in play

I can go on and on but melo melo la fe wi

My point too. The hypocrites will not see it your way

Krasid:
Watch out bro.We might be back to the Uefalona era once more. The amount of penalties they are recieving this season is shocking.About 9 so far in the league and 2 in the UCL.

Sergio busquets will soon restart rolling on the ground when not touched. Yeye people.

Or let's see how barca will fare when 8 of their regulars are sidelined by injuries and they face a team like wolfsburg with their munirus and ambalis in action.

You are very funny bruv... You mean i actually wanted to escape your response, hence I twisted your stand? Like really? You have been typing some ludicrously annoying stuffs since yesterday but I just turned a blind eye. Why? Because most of you are never tired of endless arguments albeit you are mostly on the wrong side.

Now, leave aside sentiments and tell me the last time an EPL team got itself into the semi finals of the UCL. That's one. Now tell me, when was the last time more than one EPL teams got as far as the quarters? That's two. Now tell me, if EPL has not been in decline since 2012, how come your fourth spot is at risk if any of you guys fail not to make it to the semis? That's three. After answering the aforementioned, now tell me if really EPL ain't in decline.

Now, debroslink saying EPL has been in decline doesn't mean an EPL team wouldn't win a team from La Liga or the Bundesliga. It is just a general view on how EPL teams have been performing over the last 3 years. So, stop that cheap way of using Sevilla as a reference point since City won them home and away, whereas they won Barca-Madrid. You should know better not to use such as yardstick when comparing sides. Or you wanna tell me because Celta won us 4 goals to 1 then Celta can win the Champions League? Of course by your logic one could deduce that, since they won the defending champions. Not to even mention the fact that, this same City happens to be Barça's bîtch. Abeg, them no dey judge ball like that jare.

Whether its being exaggerated or not, EPL is on the decline. Anyone who says such ain't exaggerating anything. It is just a fact at this juncture. Just face it bruv and hope your team and other EPL teams brace themselves and improve. Hyping your league and all wouldn't help a bit.

But if it makes you happy, you can keep hyping your league while we keep winning the trophies.cheesy

At least they have got themselves some goals this season. What has Hazard gotten this season? Even against the worst team ever in Bournemouth, he couldn't do shiit. Abeg leave matter for mathias.

Don't divert issues to hazard's or chelsea's. We are not talking about hazard. We are talking about man utd team that had his 8 major players sidelined by injuries not playing yesternight against a wolfsburg team. If barca loses 8 regular players how will they fare? Only sergio roberto was not playing , homesteady was crying all over the thread. address that bro.

Remember, you didn't answer my questions. Anywayz, what is wrong with what debroslink said?

Are you telling me Man Utd had their injuries at the beginning of this season's UCL campaign? C'mon fear God na! Haba!

Day 1 did they have 8 people injured?
Day 2 did they?
How about day 3?
Day 4?
And day 5?

So because they had 8 people missing in day 6 then they weren't supposed to qualify. How about prior?

Abeg, no dey expose yourself jare. I no sabi all these kinda arguments sef wey person go see truth no go gree talk am.

no mind them,8players ke?.....who are the 8players make them name them then we will talk.
Were those eight players injured when psv beat them in the first leg or other matches before the last game? When we played madrid they said without Messi we will be lucky if we even get a goal. These Epl fans knows how to twist everything to suit their shallow reasoning!
Man city beat sevilla home and away, does anyone come here shouting how porto beat chelsea or olympiakos and zagreb beat arsenal! If Man city didnt beat sevilla then Epl needs to stop coming to Europe.

Though man utd has other problems but there are moments you need majority of your materials available to achieve your goals at the last minute no matter how badly you started. We have seen it before in soccer world where a team started badly but came out stronger in competition. A more solid defence yesterday by man utd would have seen them topping the table this morning. If you like behave as if it's not the truth, wolfsburg yesterday was beatable if you watched the match very well. Inclusion of schneiderlin, shaw, rojo, valencia , herrera, jones would have been helpful to them. All wolfsburg 3 goals were largely caused by inexperienced defending. Just imagine your team without mascherano, buscuit, alba, alves, rakitic and pique in a crucial fixture. You know how it will be. So forget all these day 1 day 2 nonsense, man utd was 2nd before yesterday's match

Alright. What happened prior to this last fixture? The thing is, excuses like this are unacceptable from a club like Man utd to a large extent.

A top EPL side like Man Utd can't qualify from a group consisting of Wolfsburg and PSV prior to the final group fixture is nothing short of disappointing. Accept this or not, but it's the truth.

Frankly, EPL teams are not that great, at least not like you guys paint them to be. If you would attribute Man utd's struggles to injury, what would you attribute Chelsea's struggles to? Not talking BPL here, but referring exclusively to the UCL. And what would you attribute Arsenal's struggles to? Before you start saying injury, they were complete prior to today's fixture and did nothing noteworthy aside from beating Bayern at home. Should Arsenal not be fighting it out with Bayern at the top of the table? What business do they have with struggling for a qualifying spot?

Let me see what you will attribute to Arsenal and Chelsea since you used injury as the cover for Man utd.

Zenit are just surprising this time around. Although I still believe they will surrender when they meet the men.cheesy No one needs to talk about Atletico, cause they are a top side. They will give any of the top dogs much trouble if it were to happen in the latter stages.

I honestly think only 3 teams can drop Atletico off at this time. Barça, Bayern (not so much though) and Madrid. Of course if they would meet Madrid later on, it would be a very close game. Yet, I would tip Madrid ahead of them.

you are absolutely right. Barcelona don't always get the easiest team in Round of 16.... It's time for Mother Luck to favour us. PSV will be a tasty meal.. And have you also noticed the quality of opposition teams face heavily determines who finish top scorer? My 'sentimental' mind says that's the reason why CR7 has been topping the charts in recent years.

Alright. What happened prior to this last fixture?

A bit busy now but lemme chip in this, before this last fixture man utd was having Valencia, Shaw , Herrera, Jones , rojo all injured and man utd as 2nd on the log was in qualifying position. Those are facts. In fact what happened prior to yesterday is irrelevant, Chelsea was on the verge of being bundled out by Napoli in 2012 only to bring the magic wand in the 2nd leg against all odds. If some barca fans could be crying for sergi Roberto after a draw with Valencia, don't blame man utd fans if they do same for their injured players. I ain't a man utd fan but that's the truth. I didn't want man it'd to qualify though
