One thing have come to realise about this people is that they actually talk before they thing, thereby leaving a huge dirt from hypocrisy. 2 Likes |

@all, relax, breathe and ..... exhale. It's all wrong. Whether it's Arabic or Hausa it is wrong. The NA is the Nigerian Army not the Northern Army ((unless we're missing the subliminal message). For those comparing it to Latin, countries with European heritage are free and proud to use it as it is a reflection of their past glory after all. That Africans use it, is just another thing we copy without context or thought. Unless particular squadrons have mottos in Yoruba, Igbo, Ibibio, etc, having a motto based on the language from a particular part of the country or Arabia is wrong and divisive. It should be based on the agreed lingua franca. (see I'm doing it too) . The problem is bigger. Africans need a reset. Just wait for the Jesus/Allah brigade to come and complete the comedy show and you'll see what I mean about how lost we are. |

oloriooko: The phrase LINGUA FRANCA is indicative of an OFFICIALLY accepted language. OFFICIALLY here represents THE LAW. Therefore, it is constitutional. Therefore it is in the CONSTITUTION. Prior to 1914, there is no proof of the language being constitutionalised. It merely eased communication at the time. Don't make assumptions. |

The logo is Arabic so wat? Has it stopped any religion or tribe from becoming COAS. If u put Latin there fine they'll be happy even though it is not our official language too. When will u stop being threatened. Get an open mind. 2 Likes |

Nnabugwu8590:English Language also contain Arabic and Persian words. The motto of UI and UNILORIN are pure Latin.can we also ask Nigerian authorities to change it to English since we don't speak Latin in Nigeria.Latin is linked to the roman catholic church. 1 Like |

tmotmo: I will agree with you on this. However the
following should also be implemented alongside with
your suggestion: (1) Removal of all Crescent and/or
Cross signs in all public Hospitals, Schools and other
Government Buildings and Document (2) Declaration
of Sundays and Fridays and not Saturdays and
Sundays as weekly resting days. This could show that
the Country is not been Christianized as the present
Saturday and Sunday weekend do not allow non-
Christian to have full benefit of dedicated worshipping
on other days. Example of this is the Friday Service by
the Muslims and other days that might be for
traditional worshippers. Alternatively, maybe we should
scrap this weekend stuff/ religious related holidays
and do like they do in developed countries, and
workers get paid on the basis of hours worked for. I
can bet it, we might be a more productive Nation. NB:
Please don’t hide your response on the basis of "this
what our colonial masters handed over to us".
Remember, that colonial were not here alone, they
came with the CRUSADERS otherwise called
MISSIONARIES. 2 Likes |

jamst2: Likewise it is not a language literately spoken in Nigeria, however it holds rank as one of the ancient languages of the human race. We could have used Latin and the result would be same. |

The moslems on here are just trying to be evasive and mischievous with the question, why do you think so many of them were enraged when the Arabic inscriptions were taken off the centenary 100naira notes, some even vowed never to accept the money, assuming those inscriptions were meant for those that couldn't read back then like you folks are claiming, now might just be the right time to take them off. |
