Let me first commend CharlyG1 and other posters here for this inspiring thread. Thank you for your love, patience and commitment towards helping God's people with this thread. I had ignored this thread since it was started because I thought it's the usual demon demon childish excitement of baby Christians. But I found that it isn't having read through about 5 pages and have seen your commitment to the Word of faith.

I will share my own experiences by God's grace but before that, please let me attempt to correct some misunderstanding here using God's Word:

1. SPIRITUAL WARFARE:
EPH 6:12- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This subject has been misunderstood by many Christians due to inaccurate understanding of the Word. It is important that we establish here that the christian is not in a fight to defeat the devil or demons for they have already been defeated. They were defeated and publicly disgraced by Jesus and every demon of hell knows that. So to begin to deal with this subject, it must be from the standpoint of us as victors over Satan and his cohorts.

SO WHAT THEN IS THIS "WRESTLING"? YOU MAY ASK?

2Cor 10:4-5 - " For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

That's it!
-Pulling down strongholds: these are contrary mindsets, theories and philosophies.
-Casting down imaginations, every high thing...
- Subduing every thought, wrong emotions etc. that they may conform to Christ (The Word).
Of course many of these thoughts, ideas, philosophy's and mindsets originate from Satan.

THIS IS TRUE SPIRITUAL WARFARE. This is where the battle is toughest!

With one word you can cast out a devil that comes into your house or room. All you need is to be conscious of your position and authority in Christ. I cast out devils a lot so I can tell you. Sometimes i may not even call the name Jesus. . . GET OUT!! .. and they flee.

What many Christians including Hollywood and Nollywood film makers are excited about is just like using bazooka or rocket launcher to kill fly. This is what these demons want... that we make them appear more powerful than they really are.

I remember Pastor Chris told a story years ago of how a demon appeared in his room. He began to say, "in the. . ." and the demon took off! . . . didn't wait for him to finish the sentence.

In spiritual warfare as you'd find in Eph 6:12, you'd need to put on the whole armour using the Word and praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit.

Spiritual warfare, involves watching and insisting on THE WORD dominating YOUR MIND and THOUGHTS instead of THE WORLD or THE FLESH.

I have been involved in missions work at Christ Embassy so I know what it is to take a territory out of the hands of demonic principalities and introduce the light of God, insisting that the Word of God takes root in the hearts and minds of men, and righteousness dominates the land and even the atmosphere. It is not a day's job... This is warfare!

As for those spirits that some Christians are scared of, see what the Bible says about Jesus' victory over Satan in hell for our sake:

KJV-
Col 2:15-"And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

AMP-
Col 2:15- " [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]."

So you see ... It was a public disgrace. And when you stand in the name of Jesus, it is Him (not you) demons see and flee.

Ehen. . . for those of you who are engaging evil spirits and you are still asking stupid questions: whether every christian should speak in tongues?... Okay, you will soon know.

2. DELIVERANCE MINISTRY:
I will not delve much into this as there is no reason to, except of course the posters who mention the term can show me where such was mentioned in the bible.

All Christians are supposed to cast out devils. I have not read of a special ministry for such in the bible. SEE: EPH 4:11

Don't get me wrong, I believed all the testimonies of revelation and discernment gifts I read here (I will share a few of mine too) and i am not trying to be critical here, but I insist, Deliverance Ministry no dey Bible.

Many young ministers have left on their own to start "deliverance ministries" because they thought they had a gift. Stay in the church where God has planted you; humble yourself and be a blessing there. You are not called into the 5-fold ministry (SEE: Eph4:11) simply because you have a gift.

Do not seek to climb the pulpit or struggle microphone with the pastor. If you are given work to do in the house of God, do it with all humility and joyfulness. If you are asked to clean the seats or toilet do it faithfully and watch God promote you Himself.

Also, the Spirit will have me warn here that God is against those who "peep" (as magicians or wizards do).

Isaiah 8:19 19 - "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that PEEP, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?"

God reveals things to His children. So don't force yourself.

3. DELIVERANCE FOR CHRISTIANS??

Let's not even go there. . .
Deliverance from who? Receive Christ and His eternal life, study the Word and you will find that there is no rope tying you from anywhere.

Don't forget, I said I cast out devils.

And by the way, Gal 5:22 isn't referring to the fruit of the Holy Spirit but the fruit of the spirit (recreated or born again human spirit). The Holy Spirit does not bear fruits. We are the ones expected to bear fruits. Jesus said, " I am the vine, you are the branches" John 15:5. The fruits are seen on the branches.

The dilemma of claiming Noah's genes were pure is simple; if his wife's were pure, then Noah was not the only human with pure genes. And if his wife had impure genes, then sparing her was counterproductive and a sick joke on all the impure genes destroyed.

The 'solution' to this quagmire is to claim that her impure genes were somewhat 'recessive'. So in he entire world only one man had 'pure' genes while the other had 'recessive' impure genes?

I believe in a lot of absurd things but I have some minimal reverence for the Word of Truth to entertain such arguments and attempt to propagate them

Whereas if you had taken to read more than the five pages you said you read you would have seen everything you said was already covered.

I thought we had stopped the arguments. I wonder where all these arguments will lead us.

Nobody wins an argument. No one knows all. Why don't we skip all these arguments and move on to the main thing that brought us together.



So instead of wasting time arguing now, i'll rather be in a relaxing mode, maybe watch sponge-bob cartoon, and wait till God drops a message in my heart to share or till the arguments are over.

My Life today, is sustained by the Word of God, that I believe. But how could i have believed it, if I didn't know it?

I remember, along time ago, a marine pastor, whom I never insulted, approached me, because he saw me with Crutches and thought I was vulnerable.
He started telling me how he can just heal me and give me a ring which i can use to command whatever I needed. especially trapping men to get money from them. that was his main focus intact.
lol. The man went on and on abt what he can do. everything he said pointed towards powers from the marine, to buttress his point, he quoted, where Jesus asked his Apostle to go catch a fish and get money out of the fish's mouth to pay their taxes.
The man actually opened his mouth and said, Jesus Christ, The Sun of the Living God was subject to the Marine powers. At this point, I exploded. When I put some scriptures before him, he fled.
Tell me, If I didn't know any better, would that man not ve trapped me, by making me believe that Jesus' power came from the marine world? So many in spiritual churches believe so.

There is need to be cautious when bringing in a house help from the village.
This is a real life experience that happened in my family that almost destroyed our lives. But thank God for His grace.

I was about 7 or 8 yrs old then. I remember we got a house maid from the village. Early in the morning, she was already up for morning duties. She was so agile and hardworking, my parents got to like her.
As time passed by, i grew fond of this our new house maid as a child, i always went to play with her together with my younger brother.

My parents were not born again christians then but they had taught us a very simple prayer b4 we eat. D prayer went like this.. 'Oh Lord bless this food for Christ sake,Amen'..

This very day we were eating beans. I, my brother & the housemaid. We were all together in her room. Then as we were about to eat, I told my brother 'remember mommy&daddy said we should always pray b4 we eat'... The housemaid said it didn't matter, that why should we pray in the first place..
I ignored her. As i was praying with my brother, I cud see her sneering at us with an angry look(sometimes you can still see with the eyes close, its a gift).
We started eating, she was sitting on the bed, then she started dropping food on the ground. When we asked her why she did that, she would say she had friends under the bed who ate the food.
She once told me she flew at night with her so called friends for witchcraft meetings. I thot it was a joke. Somtimes she talked to herself & when asked, she wud say she wasn't alone.

This housemaid gave us so many strange things to eat, things I don't wish to remember. My parents would be fighting all the time, almost on the brink of divorce, my father's business was crumbling all of a sudden, even my mother's too, the house maid wud even insult and fight my mom. Things were falling apart at an alarming rate.
One night i escorted her somwhere & I found myself holding an old woman. I was panting, thot i was lost. While searching for her, I realized she was hurrying home already without me.. I spotted her from a distance & quickly ran back to her..
Sooooo many strange things happened, but to cut the story short.

As God wud have it, one very night. Maybe, for the first time we said a family night prayer. She went to sleep in her room. Few mins later, she rushed out panting, telling my Dad some white looking figure gave her a hot slap.
My dad didn't understand, he told her to go back to sleep. She ran out again saying the same thing gave her a hotter slap. It happened again the third time. She said she would not dare enter the room again. She cudn't sleep that night.
Then my parents were worried & took her to a church for deliverance the next day..
It was discovered that she was a full fledged witch assigned to our family to destroy our lives. And the demon spoke thru her threatning her to not confess Jesus Christ as her Lord.. The demon fought hard. At the end, she confessed Jesus & fainted.

The next day, my parents sent her back to the village sharp sharp.
She died d same week of demonic torment.

This story has been cut short, but i hope it would be an eye opener for someone here to be cautious of whom you bring into your home to look after your kids. God bless you all

Your thread like many has said is the best to have graced Nairaland since inception so I believe people should be allowed to post without being shot down because there is no one or no medium God cannot use to reach out to us. This is like an extension of Sunday School for us just that God is using you CharlyG1 daily to satiate our appetite and yearning to know more about Him and the hope of His calling us...


Like I said earlier, because of this recent debate, I went to consult my Bible again and the revelation I got was that the other time God mentioned similar in the Bible was after He created the earth and pondered on the works of His hands and realised it was "good/perfect"...same way He was unhappy and grieved that the men He created had become full of evil then He remembered Noah a "perfect" man...and from this I was able to deduce that perfection has nothing to do with genetics but rather character...


During the discussion Ccolins raised about Rebecca's books, I was going to chip in that it was wrong to condemn her but I didn't get involved again because I read instances where she also used to condemn other Men of God...God used muafrika to bring Phillipians 1:18 to my remembrance: Phillipians 1:18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice...


Earlier on that 4C2215131 was on this thread insulting me, I could have returned fire for fire because I recently became a Christian and before I gave my life to Christ I have never ever backed down from a fight so this thread would have probably gotten locked...


But I kept quiet and ceased fire because in the midst of the 10000 words he directed my way emptily threatening brimstone and fire on my head was the quote in bold below...And although I wasn't out of line with what I said about these religion section trolls, God still used 4C2215131 despite his "different religious leaning" to pass on this poignant message and remind us all of the need to be on guard at all time because that is one modus operandi of that useless jobless satan (the plunderer and stealer of souls) the accuser of the brethren who is always constantly reminding God of our sins. God also used him to remind me of the hedge of protection around us as Christians...that's why the fight in me died down and if I could I would have reached out through the computer screen to hug 4C221 despite all the stuffs he spilled at me

I once made a mistake of responding to an argument, and I won't make that mistake again.

What we do here helps to build people's faith and give spiritual insight. Do not derail the thread.
