Others, such as Adama Traore and Victor Osimhen, have shone at youth level, but remain on the peripheries of first-team football. W hat can they achieve in the coming 12 months? And what of a player such as Rivaldo Coetzee, who is a regular first-team performer in the PSL—and a first-choice international for one of the continent's biggest nations—but is still only a teenager!? enomakos: There is absolutely nothing wrong in inviting him for trials. He is nt yet a senior international. Even some nt well established senior internationals go for trials too. They may have only seen him at the U17 WC and they would physically want to see him perform. It is normal for U17 players to go for trials. It is now left to Osimhen to prove his worth. BTW u peeps overrate these our young players a lot. 1 Like |

Yes, I’m Going To Arsenal, But No Rush Says Nigeria Starlet As He Confirms England Trip Young Nigeria starlet Victor Osimhen says he will take his time when it comes to deciding upon his future, despite a visit to Arsenal being booked in. He turns 17 on 29th December and finished as the top scorer at the Under-17 World Cup earlier this year, something which aroused interest from a number of big European clubs. Osimhen has already had a trip to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg as he plots his next move, with Arsenal also on his list. The starlet, who bagged ten goals in the World Cup, wants to gain a clear understanding of what would await him at each club, in advance of when he can sign a contract with a European side, something which can only take place once he turns 18 years old. Osimhen told the BBC: "The trip to Wolfsburg was interesting and I'll be visiting Arsenal too, but I am not in a rush. "I know I cannot sign a contract with any club right now, but the trip to Germany and hopefully to England gives me a great opportunity to see things clearly. "It is important not to get carried away and luckily I have my family and managers to guide me through every step when the time comes", he added. The 16-year-old has already represented Nigeria at Under-23 level, a sign his talent is beyond his years, while he has also been nominated for the 2015 Confederation of African Football Youth Player of the Year award. www.insidefutbol.com/2015/12/25/yes-im-going-to-arsenal-but-no-rush-says-nigeria-starlet/260126/ 1 Like |

Icon4s: I hope you enjoyed Your Fish. Before I could bring my fork to choppulate with you and your family, I heard it has finished. Chai. An Arsenal trial is necessary because the club has to access him in training and sees how he responds to their pattern of coaching and play. 1 Like |

Icon4s: When u score 10 goals in 7 and then go on to help ur country qualify for the Olympics there is no need of trials. This seems like a ploy to lower his value and i am hoping he refuses to participate in such. |

TheGoodJoe: Lol!I left some for peeps like hu didnt show up on time yesterday. You are on pt bro. Every club has it's own pattern of training and coaching including playing philosophy. This is nt an issue of whether Osimhen is good enough or nt. We all know hu is a fantastic player. Arsenal needs to know if he can fit into their playing pattern and philosophy by inviting him for trials. 1 Like |

Icon4s:You are thinking in the best interest of the club while forgetting about Osimhen. Yes plenty have failed but that doesn't lessen any of his value. This isn't some kid arsenal heard about through scouts, the whole world has seen what he is about, right now he should have the upper hand because they want him. Wolfsburg didnt put him on trial and they already offered first team action. Also there is the possibility of getting injured something that has happened to our boys in the past, he should not even touch a ball this is a negotiation. The question is what can Arsenal offer him that Wolfsburg can't. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:39pm On Dec 26, 2015 |
BascoVanVeli: It is as simple as working with the man who turned a seventeen years old Nicholas Anelka into the best young attacker in the world. Arsenal study players for a long time. Arsenal will not show interest if their scouts have not spotted star quality in the kid. Arsene Wenger has a history of doing good jobs with young attackers. Like Van Persie and Adebayor. Osimhen is good. He has the raw talents. I say he goes for the trial. Arsenal plays a refreshing brand of football that gives the attackers chances to shine. They have a history of making stars out of youngsters like Nasri, Fabregas, Clichy etc. Let them watch him and tag him a star. Remember, Nacho chose to become a Cityzen despite no promise of first team football. He worked his way to the top. Osimhen should go there and blow their minds. He will pass the trial and that can get him first team football as a Gunner. Which is huge. |

TheGoodJoe: What will he show them that they have not seen already? Arsenal is just one team, yes they have some success stories but that doesn't exactly predict a bright future he could just as well go to Liverpool and be successful. This argument might not even be warranted cuz i am sure the editor of the article made a mistake players like Osimhen don't go on tryouts, Iheanacho didn't and Awoniyi didn't. This is for unknown players coming from academies or older players coming back from big injuries. |

Who are the 3 overaged players you would like to see on the plane to Rio next year? Mine are Ighalo, Carl Ikeme and Oshaniwa. An attack comprising the likes of Moses Simon, Osimhen, Iheanacho, Ighalo, and Awoniyi would be special! 1 Like |
