I'm talking from experience. I've witnessed one of the extortion scheme of the Nigerian immigration officers go wrong when they try to seize the American passport of a lady in front of me at MMIA. Immediately a US Embassy official stationed there saw it, he stepped in and told them to return the passport to them before anything is discussed at all. He stated there and then that it is illegal to do that no matter what.

I'm not saying it's legal. That's coz the official knew it was a valid passport. If it wasn't valid or he didn't know it was valid he won't be running mouth

he is right. even here in UAE u cant seize american passport, cant even touch american let alone the passport. dele is making big mouth with that
