Very Unlikely! Just paint your building plan approval number on your fence and nobody is going to bother you. Unless there is a "Judas" in your team trying to make extra money...but even at that you should have no major problems.

In as much as it's the same height/floor. ..no need to get another approval.

By law town planning authority don't expect to enter and check ur rooms arrangements or nos of rooms but just need to site at distance.

Na Ijebu dey do me somehow but the footprint of the building is exactly 25 feet by 25 feet and won't break the bank to do it from the get to.

Maybe my very good friend KolaShangOne can avail me his mixer and a specific Engineer to get it done quickly

My Oga.plz if you are thinking of the capping leave it.I was going to do same.there is no cost saving and the floor is liable to fail at different sections and rate like the guy upstairs explained..I already paid a carpenter to do the capping but I took %30 of the money back.I'm doing german flooring with sharp sandfill. U kno wen U cap and raise ur walls U have to fill each room at different times nd height will differ too plus labour will differ.note they have to go wall to wall to manuaver. Might charge you more.

lol i understand your predicament.but its nothing.it do happen,just present your approved plan to the Townplanners if asked.when they ask you,why is the plan different from the structure on ground,tell them alterations are bound to happen.thanks

I don't think its a problem. The same issue happened to me when i processed an approval for a building two years ago. The people deliberately approved a similar yet very different plan for me. I did not know where or how they got the plan they approved, but my observation is that they have plans in their possession and they proceed to use that to make the processing fast. The OGa AT THE TOP knows what's easy for him to quickly sign without having to analyze my fresh new plan. I went back to him to ask why he approved a totally different plan from what was handed to him, and he said " Don't worry my brother, you can change it as long as its still bungalow". That was it.

* Most of them are unqualified, just because you see someone giving tips or pretty pictures or like our master packager who even had the cheek to take photos from another persons site and claimed he did the work. etc doesn't make them suitable to call themselves engineer.

* If I was an engineer that studied for it, I would be very angry as to how a lot of people here on NL especially have come to drag the profession on the floor like a Mop.

* I even engaged one so called engineer here on NL that was no more than a teenager with a keyboard and a phone, I shook my head in pity.

* Before engaging anyone, best to speak to someone like Haji or lawyer who is the moderator and do some research.

* A lot of so called Builders/Engineers on NL are quacks who know that most people that come here on NL especially for building are mostly people in diaspora, an average Nigerian wouldn't come online to start looking for builders or see some pretty pictures and engage a builder on that basis, its a face to face thing (usually you see someone that has done a good job in your area and you enquire about who did it or based on some other recommendation), forget internet. No wonder why one builder here was envious of people in Diaspora as dollar dey rise !!

The right thing to do is to check with them and get a re-approval if required, also helps your peace of mind. I did a reno in Ibadan and it was assessed a major reno (had off the record convo with one of the town planning folks back then); a separate structure could be considered as requiring a re-approval.
The folks do go around, especially to locations where they have given approval to build; just to see if there is a deviation that would enable them chop.
Cost of re-approval will be smaller than "using church mind" if they show up.
