This kind of scenario commonly occurs when a lady gets pregnant out of wedlock.

Basically, such girls are sent to the village few weeks into their pregnancy, especially when the pregnancy isn't physically obvious.

This is mostly done out of shame and embarrassment on the part of the girl's parents and family. The parents actually don't want people to know that their daughter is pregnant, or draw unnecessary attention to her, so they send her "into hiding", somewher most people that know them won't find out about their daughter's sad case.
