The elders should chill nerves with ogogoro joor.provided the project was completed by Wike lead govt.unlike what happened in Enugu when chimaroke was the governor and built permanent site for ESUT up to 95 per cent but Sullivan chime abandoned the site.pls let's be progressive in our thought. 1 Like |

This is what leads to abandoned project syndrome. It shouldn't matter who conceptualized, who started or who completed a project. Governance should be a continuum. The rush to take credit for projects often leads to unhealthy competitions. |

I got to Uyo and Calaber this yuletide and was amazed by the turn of events. Calabar had gone down, the legacy of Duke has not been sustained with same momemtum but akpabio literally developed his state. Uyo and environs were just a mere village. Having known Uyo prior Akpabio days I cringed that the guy did that in 8 yrs. Now I wonder what other leaders of the country could have done if they were not possessed by that extractive diesea of greed, corruption and hatred or lack of pride of their people and nation. My state is horror despite being an oil producer and Rivers is terrible given the resource potential there. Akpabio work makes Fashola's job in Lagos a play in the sand 2 Likes |

Atleast WIKE didn't abandon the project. We should learn to appreciate people. Very few Governors will continue a project started by previous administration. 2 Likes |

Re: Elders Fault Wike On Road, Bridge by MadCow1: 11:57am On Jan 02, 2016 |
preciousjun: There was nothing abandoned about that bridge. It was fully built and finished by Amaechi. It was not open because some small section of work was still ongoing on Abuloma axis as Amaechi was considering redoing the roundabout and expanding Odili road and woji roads. Let's be honest in our doings. Fhuck Wike. 1 Like |

drshrewd: Wike can only tAke credit for 1 road in Rivers State for now and it's the road inside GRA that runs from pepperoni to woji road. That road was built by Julius Berger and I must say its shameful to behold after seeing Amaechis road standard of covered drainages and streetlights. 1 Like |

LAFOCUZY: Cool down small sir. Lagos is not Uyo. Fashola outclassed Akpabio pound for pound in terms of projects and the terrain in which they were executed. Ask for Calabar, the moment they lost their oil wells to both Cameroon and Akwa Ibom, they were fhucked for life. I visited middle of last year and could not believe it was the same Calabar I served in. Ask for Port Harcourt, Wike has not done any road worthy of mentioning. Almost all the roads are Amaechi roads and they were never abandoned at any stage of Amaechis tenure. 1 Like |

Re: Elders Fault Wike On Road, Bridge by MadCow1: 12:07pm On Jan 02, 2016 |
christconscious: Wike did not complete the bridge. If it's the Trans Woji bridge, fine, but not that Abuloma - woji bridge. And it was not an abandoned project at any point. Amaechi finished the bridge but didn't open it for use because it was only phase 1 of a much larger project. |
Re: Elders Fault Wike On Road, Bridge by MadCow1: 12:09pm On Jan 02, 2016 |
cckris: No. It will however reduce pressure on the Slaughter bridge, especially now that they are about to put finishing touches to the slaughter bridge. |

gare:those people mentioned are not woji elders rather apc members. I'm from woji community nd i knw each one of them. Lawrence chuku is a former caretaker committee chairman of obio/akpor under amaechi administration. silly politics from this apc swines, instead of being happy about this all important project, you are here playing partisan politics. |

gare: Do you know the story of Woji to Artillery? Do you know that Woji people (sponsored by Wike and some Chiefs of Woji) frustrated all moves by Amaechi to dualise Woji road? Do you know they even took Amaechi to Court? Do you know that Amaechi had finished marking some areas for demolition and even started the demolition before his tenure expired? I am sorry for Woji people. They will be the biggest losers because Wike can't fix that road anymore. Rivers State no longer has that kind of money. And he can't afford to pay them the fraudulent compensation they were demanding from Amaechi especially when the structures are illegal. Wike is the demon behind why Woji road and Elelenwo road was not dualised by Amaechi. Know the truth now. 1 Like |

nattyhero: Bros go to bed, you are spewing dust. What's the cost of building a road in Uyo versus Port Harcourt? Do you know how much Rivers State and Lagos State governments pay in compensation for demolition for every road they build? Even then, Amaechi still outclassed Apkabio. Apkabio can only really boast of roads, Amaechi touched all sectors. Not a single school built by Akpabio can compare to the least school built by Amaechi. What about hospitals and health centres, Akpabio has only one flagship hospital to his name, Amaechi started work on his flagship hospital as well but didn't finish, but he has top class health centres in all Rivers State local government areas that Akwa Ibom does not have. Don't even try to compare bros, Akpabio no near Amaechi at all. Even with all the roads built by him, Uyo is still nowhere near Port HRcourt 4 Likes 1 Share |

Amaechi came and had projects unfinished by his predecessors abandoned. This news should be disregarded provided lawrence Chuku name is among the elders. He was deputy to Wike as lga chairman. He had expected Wike to make him the chairman but Wike favoured zoning against the will of Lawrence. Right from then he became a sworn enemy of Wike. |

MadCow1: Not so fast speak on what you know and if u don't know take pains to find out, that project was started by the Omehia administration, the bridge was abandoned by Amaechi after a while his anger was that the contractor was an Omehia guy, why don't u ask urself why it took 8 good years for that small bridge to be completed? And why didn't he complete the akpajo axis? What was rivers state allocations for those good oil boom days? I live in Woji and I know Wike is doing great, as we speak a road Amaechi abandoned for 8 years Wike is working on it. If Amaechi needed the glory for the Woji bridge he should have completed it in 8 years, abeg carry ur broom Comot for road |
