for instance, the buhari you see today doesn't have a certificate but yet he's doing better than those who claim to be professors. |

Nelsonmilez: What you forget is that those that run those companies mostly graduated with good grades. They earn real money and added perks not some two-year endorsement deals. And stop assuming every entertainer had poor grades in school. Falz did well and you can sense the intelligence in his music. |

Louislewis: I feel ur pains but don't tell me that 100% of the lecturers in ur institution are corrupt. You can't rid the society of corruption but you put in extra effort in other courses to make ur A grade. I am a final year student of History and International Studies in unical...currently on 4.3 but some still fine me worthy of 'C' and 'D'... Make sure ur 'A's are more. Believe it or not, it's only unserious students that grash with 2.2 |

Cekpo34: Don't feel my pain because I am gainfully employed. Not only being employed, but with one of the best silent and well organized engineeering company, that today,as I write this, I am above 250,000 naira per month. I have nothing to gain or lose on what my stand on this topic. I am only telling you, Nigerians, and employersof labour, nothing but the truth. You may have your 1.1, or 1.2 and yet you are not still better of than someone with 3.0 outside the four walls of the academic environment. So many things can lid to poor performance while in school and so many negatives things happen in the academic system of today that promote higher scores that lid majority of our 1.1, 1.2 which within the outside community of academic can not defend it which you and I know, even though, your score may be sincere. Many people have argued using grade for yardstick for employment is to reduced numbers of applicant; yes, it was right, but it is not the best. The only way number of applicants can be reduced justifiably, is to go with the system of "FIRST RECEIVED, FIRST ACKNOWLEDGE" method as applications flow in with a short period of time. With this method, equal opportunity is given to everybody like fastest finger first. |

Louislewis: I get ur point! But not all 2.2 and 3rd class students wer serious with their studies and definitely some pay for their 2.1 too but I refuse to believe that anyone can buy FIRST CLASS (because defending it will always be a problem). I want to let you know that you got that job not on merit but because wer lucky (and through God's grace). Stop encouraging laziness in school simply because you are earning 250k. Another person in the street with 2.2 may not support this ur argument. Thanks! 1 Like |

peleson: Sciences always thinking they are better than arts. Well if you tell me that of a Harvard University student I may believe u but not in Nigerian Universities where professors of physics can't even invent ordinary insecticide. If you think cramming formula makes u better than a historian, we also rot dates! |
