I bin no dey like table Herrera matter for here because it seemed as if nobody saw any limitations in his ability. I have never really been impressed with him but because of the "love" wey hin get for here, I started looking for his "greatness" by force. angry

Unfortunately, I still dey find those "qualities" that make him a "top-player" undecided

He is a decent passer of the ball but his passing can be careless at times and he is just average or above average at most things he does. This guy couldn't have taken Js park's shirt. His otondo team mates are making him look better than he is. Like I once said at his age he has 0 Spanish caps, it is not a fluke.

Another weak point is Blind who is so good with the ball but a defensive liability of the highest order. He is too slow at Lb against most wingers
He is too weak at CB against most strikers.
If I push comes to shove I would play Schneiderlin and Blind in midfield as a double pivot because I do not want Blind anywhere in my defence .

Most times one does not closely study players until the come to one's team
An example is Valencia and his dead left foot, another is Anderson and his inability to shoot with his instep.
Mata has zero pace, zero power and close to zero dribbling ability, his right foot his zero and he can't shield the ball.
He is good at padding his stats but he is not a major factor.

Please tell them bro.

If we still wanna be struggling to get into top 4 then we can stick with HERRERA, MATA and FELLAINI. These players in our midfield bring average performances.. Of course once in a while they will do so well but they will disappear for another five matches.

But....

The day we decide to fight for Titles and be the Champion of England again , we will go out there and sign better players with better qualities... Players that will create chances and man that midfield. We are lacking so much in that midfield and am sure we all agree that most of our problems is centered around that midfield. No creativity.. no speed.. no....

Funny that some here call Herrera average. The guy is a bloody good midfielder when used in a more advanced pyramid position.Moreso,Van Gaal's restrictive kind of football is negating players from playing to their strengths.Having no National team cap doesn't mean a player is not good enough.U av to look at d context of d country he is representing. As at 2013,David Silva,Isco,Mata,Javi Martinez,Fabregas,Carzola were all regulars on the Spanish National team because Xavi,Iniesta and Busquets reigned supreme.Dt doesn't mean they are average. As it stands,De Gea who is on current form the best GK in the worlf still has to contend with Casillas who is the media darling.Casillas will probably be first choice at next euros.Think abt that.Lets bring this closer home.Odion Ighalo was playing very well in d Championships yet Didn't av a Nigeria National cap until recently.Caps and appearances don't tell d whole story.

He performances havent been good enough for a top club targetting major honors....

As a matter of fact, he hasn't been better than Mata...

1. The DDG analogy doesn't cut it here cos there can only be one goalie between the sticks & we are all aware of the kinda influence casillas commands in spain..

2. We cannot turn a blind eye to Herrera's uncapped status when the likes of Bruno, Mitolo, Alex vidal and other "unknown" midfielders were recently capped by the same spanish team.

For him not to even be considered good enough for a friendly match shows how "highly" the manager thinks of him.

Blind, Mata, Carrick and Fellaini should not be on the pitch against this Liverpool side. Don't know yet how to match their speed and pace.
