This is what a brother narrated to me about his experience with the Nigerian Army. I will try to cut out some details. Don’t mind if I don’t tell the story as organized as he told me.
It happened in the Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna where soldiers have been stationed to fight cattle rustlers.
On 29th Dec 2015, he and five of his colleagues who had gone to a part of the town to work went out as early as 6:30 am to get breakfast before they resumed their menial job for the day. The house they rented was close to a market. On their way to get food from the market, there was news that soldiers had surrounded the area probably in search of some trouble makers. They thus made a u-turn back to their rented quarters as advised by people of the town. Minutes later, they started hearing gunshots and an elder of in the place told the six (6) of them (all Christians) to join the other villagers at the mosque so that if death comes, they die together. The area is actually predominantly muslim. After a while, soldiers came in to meet them at the mosque. It appeared the gunshots came from their fights with the rustlers, some of which were still within sight. The soldiers then separated the women and children from the men.
He told me that he witnessed a soldiers death when he stepped few metres from where the others were gathered. He was shot dead. In total, 2 soldiers were killed while 3 others were kidnapped. The soldiers also lost some of their cars. After several hours of staying around the mosque without food, the oga came around with two hilux vehicles and ordered some of his men to call out eight men. My brother and one of his colleaques were called out alongside six other men. They thought that was succor. He tot, at last, he will be driven to safety. They were ordered into the vehicles and they moved several kilometers of untarred road. At that time, it was already abt 7pm. They got to a small town and the soldiers argued among themselves. It appeared they were seeking for a secluded area. They moved on until they got to a bush where they parked and ordered them out.
They requested their identities and asked them of their phones. After collecting their phones, they told them that they’ve lost 2 soldiers and 3 had been kidnapped. Hence, all eight of them will be “wasted”. My brother kept pleading as the others. He told them he is a stranger but for where? All pleas fell on deaf ears. He said the soldiers had already drank all kinds of tramol and co which they had looted from a shop. He said he noticed there was only one Hausa soldier there; the rest being Southerners. He said the oga and one other guy insisting they should be killed were Yoruba. Finally, they were told to drop on their knees and say their last prayers. “Christians, say your prayer, Muslims say yours too” they ordered. When they all got on their knees, still pleading, he heard the soldiers cork their gun and then the shots came. He simply jumped further into the bush with torns injuring him but he cared less. He could only see with an eye as blood was dripping from the other; courtesy a blow he received from the soldiers. While he ran, he could hear the oga telling the shooter “No let am escape”. He said the place was dark and they probably could not site him in time. He said if they had a torch in their hand at that moment, he would probably be gone. But I think it’s just the mercies of God that saved him; it was simply not his time. The corpse of his other colleaque was later picked-up two days later. The muslims had already rushed to bury the remaining six. He said people who inquired abt the incidence from d soldiers claimed they brazenly admitted that they killed them but one escaped.
He was mad and wondered how he could go about seeking justice. It’s unfortunate we are in a zoo and though the guy tried to seek justice, it was gonna cost him money he didn’t have. Unfortunately, I also don’t knw what to do. Wetin I fit do sef? undecided This is probably how soldiers kill innocent people and come back to tell us they killed 100 bokoharam members. He appeared to have let the matter go.
This 2016, No premature death will meet U and Me. Amen!!!

The north remain the most peaceful area to stay. Keep North East crisis infested states aside. Bigot, attend to the topic.

This is just one reason i changed my mind about joining the army. The evil they do against innocent harmless citizens ehh. I didnt wanna partake. This is how they will return and say Christians were part of Bokoharam fighters. Nigerian army really needs reorientation. cry
