. May be I will support Mourinho over Guardiola. At least someone who knows the league already has an advantage, particularly when recruiting players.

How did Mourinho knowledge of the league help in Chelsea or when he was recruiting Debruyne, Salah, Cuadrado, falcao, Pedro, Baba Rahman, Papy Djiboloji etc

He flopped at Roma cos of Totti. Benched his ass and he lost the dressing room

Not really ...although it played a part in his abysmal performance at Roma. I believe that the likes of Mauricio Poechettino, Ronald Koeman and Brendan Rodgers are better managers than Enrique. My opinion ooo

Moyes failed to adapt at Manchester United! The job and it's expectations are too much for his ability and capability. He's only good for a Mid-Table Club! He's gonna turn us to another "Liverpool" if he's still in charge!

I knew Moyes was a joke the minute he started saying crappie that a team that won the league by over 10 points should strive to be like Man Shitty.

The job was way bigger than him..... Getting the job was already an achievement to the slowpoke, he didn't need to win trophies or prove shiit to anyone.

Those blaming Emenalo are just looking to shelve the blame onto someone else.

Mourinho in his first term even before Emenalo didnt have a good record with transfers Bhoularouz, Kezman, Maniche, Jarosik, SWP were those Emenalo buys too?

His last gig at Chelsea he bought many players that ended up being flops e.g Debruyne, Salah, Cuadrado, falcao, Pedro, Baba Rahman, Papy Djiboloji

Out of how many buys? Even the LvG you are complaining about also had some good buys like Martial. Some of the guys that did well were already bought before Mou e.g Cech and Robben. And how was ferreira a beast? He is just there, not a hit, not a flop.

Ferriera was a hit...Mr. reliable.

Calvalho one of d best CB to ever grace the EPL, his reading of the game and his sliding tackles were out of this world.

Ballack.... you know better grin

Dr. DD.... as a Man U fan... I had a love-hate feeling towards him....dude destroyed United on countless occasions. I will never forget d commentator screaming Drogbaaaaaaaaaaaaa in the FA Cup final.

Ferreira was just there. At a time, His right back role was even rotated with Belleti, Bhoularouz, Geremi even Essien played Right Back

You mentioned few hits Out of how many buys? Let me remind you of Thiago, Alex, Kezman, Jarosik, SWP, DelHorno, Lass, Rajkovic, Maniche, Cashley, Bhoularouz, Mikel, Kalou, Hilario, Sahar, Shevchenko, Ben Haim, Pizzaro, Malouda, Sidwell, Those are the ones I can remember now.

So 5 hits and like 20 flops means he was good in the transfer market?

I just read that there was no training because Gaal traveled to Netherlands. So Woodward decided to give a talk to the senior players in his absence.

I suppose it's not related to sack.
what is the Glazers and Ed waiting for to serve him the damn letter.. at least that would save him from the British journalists.

Mikel has started how many games since he got to Chelsea? Is that a hit?

malouda was left out of the CL squad and shipped out unceremonously to join the U21 after few seasons . Same with Alex who was a monumental flop who only played because Carvalho got injured

The only hits were Drogba, Essien, Cashley Ballack and Carvalho

Mikel has started 171 games in the EPL for Chelsea...an average of 17 games per season.... not bad.

Lol..u have removed Cashley from d list of flops...good

Malouda and Alex were just there....they were not flops.

17 games per season where teams play almost 50 games a season(38 league + 6 CL group stages + at least 4 in makes CL quarters, + carling cup games, + FA cup games) that means Mikel started less than half of Chelsea games in his 10yrs stay maybe about one third of games. if that isnt a flop then whats a flop

Malouda that was dropped from the CL squad and sent to U21 is not a flop? So what would make a player a flop if being demoted to U21 is not enough

Alex sef same thing, he only played when Carvalho or others were injured.

17 games per season out of 38 in the EPL sir. That is 50%.

Everyone cannot play at the same time. He was brought in as a cover for d starting CBs.

Bros na wa for you o....Malouda as a winger played 149 EPL games for Chelsea in 5 seasons and scored 35 goals. 228 games in total and scored 45 goals in 5 seasons. He was moving towards the twilight of his career when he became a nonentity in the Chelsea squad during the 2012/13 season. MALOUDA was a good acquisition for someone Chelsea paid around 13 million pounds for....

LvG has nothing more to offer United. He's done his best obviously, the board now has to ensure they devise a means to ensure the club don't miss out of the UCL for next season.

Perhaps sacking the man will be a start.

17 games a season is poor very poor

Because Chelsea plays about50 games a season. (38league + 10-13 CL) + 6-8 FA cup + 4Carling) 17 is about one-third of that.

Alex was a star defender when he was at PSV he single handedly eliminated Arsenal the year before and was turned into a bench player. Thats a transfer flop

Malouda mates are still playing till now. out of those 5 seasons He spent 1 fully with U21 I dont see how thats a hit

Mourinho won the league last season, just the second season of his return. Mistakes aren't ruled out. Even SAF recruited Obertan, Tosic.

But you have a point.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 7:37pm On Jan 25, 2016
I think the main reason the trigger hasnt been pulled on LvG is Woodward. I think Woody's position is also under threat because he also has a lot to answer for. Transfer and recruitment of the coach who has failed and has to be sacked must also reflect very badly on Woodward. So if LvG is sacked, I imagine Woodward would be atleast moved away from the Chief Exec postion to a different role probably to the commercial side since he's still very important in that role of helping the club make ridiculous amounts of money.

Some journos think they are keeping LvG on as they think top 4 isnt yet out of reach and would rather wait till the summer to make a change.
Giggs is an issue, I dont think they know how to handle him because surely he is part of the regime that is failing. Can they trust him with the reins even till the summer? Gill coming out to say Giggs should go and get experience away from the club as a number 1 is very telling.

To me, It seems the Board definitely do NOT want Mourinho as he is an obvious no brainer to replace LvG. Problem is, if they dont go for Mourinho, Pep is by all account agreed City ( Just not signed till either Bayern or City are out of CL) Who else is really available to achieve what is expected?

I don't think Woodward is under any threat whatsoever. His role is clearly defined in the club. He's got no business with the day to day running of the playing staff & has absolutely no tussle with the managers so far.
He had improved in his negotiating skills, bringing in players requested by the manager. The club still prosper financially as well. He's got his angle well covered, what more is he supposed to do?

He's sitting there as the head perhaps inexperienced in actual pitch-related activities, but there are a couple of ex-internationals & managers also involved in choosing team managers & overall footballing decisions. Nobody can blame Ed for LvG's underachievement. He has given his full co-operation so far.

I agree that Giggs may actually be the bottle-neck. He's been part of both coaching crew since SAF & the rational decision if LvG will be relieved of his duties; is for him to leave as well.

Paramount on the board agendas right now, is making the UCL places. Failure to do so will stagnate plans for the next season both in player recruitment & manager lure.

Let's hope they take the best decision @ the end of the day.

I think we both disagree on this point. Ed can share the blame in his failure to land players in Moyes era. Also, LvG was his man. He took LvG to the board and said this is the man. He has also overseen unparalleled expenditure in 2.5 years which has left us with a broken squad. Surely he must take some blame for that too? The Glazers handed him to the keys to the club and said he should manage things and this is where we are now.

Bring Ancelotti & Jose Moanrinho to Everton, Espanyol or Florentina & tell me what they would achieve given 10 years of being in-charge of any of those teams
