patches689: So when did we buy the one? Are you retarrded? The specific deal which claims we replaced MI-35M for MI-24Vs. I'm telling you that, the finding is completely flawed. If the report claims the 2 MI-24s were bought, how come they are 3? |

patches689: 3 Helos, which are all MI-24Vs are from one deal MI-35M and Mi-17 terminator are from a separate deal The pic isn't related. You're basing an argument on a source, even you, don't trust. |

patches689: Is the army controlling NAF operations? No. Court cases are full of allegations and counter allegations that no one has proved until judge passes judgement. Xinhuanet, China. Nigeria builds regional helicopter maintenance hanger English.news.cn 2016-01-12 02:34:08 LAGOS, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government on Monday said it has completed a massive maintenance hanger for the country's military helicopters and others within the West African countries. Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Abubakar Sadique, disclosed this in Abuja, the nation's capital, during a meeting with governor of central north state of Niger, Abubakar Sani Bello. Sadique said the hanger, which is located in Minna, the capital of Niger State, is aimed to become a regional hub for helicopter maintenance in partnership with the state government and other critical stakeholders. He said the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is doing its possible best to ensure that security is maintained and sustained in the state through the presence of personnel, facilities and formations. "The NAF is looking at the possibility of enhancing our operations in Minna. We have a hanger that we have constructed already, which we hope that it will turn out to be a big maintenance center for helicopters not only for the NAF, but other air forces in West African that operate the same helicopters," he added. "We have completed the hanger. The aim is to make that hanger a maintenance workshop for the helicopters. We are working toward actualizing that not only with other partners but also with the Niger state government as well the Americans," said the NAF chief. On his part, Bello said his administration is looking to partner with the air force in the area of capacity building and security particularly around the Minna Air Port. He also expressed hope that the establishment of the helicopter hanger maintenance center will not only strengthen the security of the state, but will as well boost its economy. http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2016-01/12/c_134999210.htm NAF is to maintain helicopters for the whole West African sub-region, and they have 30 years experience in Alpha Jet, L-39 Albateoss maintenance, F-7 jets are still almost brand new and cheap to maintain . Your claims = Garbage |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 11:54pm On Jan 25, 2016 |
agaugust: You clearly have no experience with maintenance: Regrettably, in spite of these expenditures, the status of NAF fleet remained operationally appalling as only 3 Alpha-Jets, 2 C-130H and one each of Mi-24V and Mi-35P were serviceable as at 28 May 15. And from global security: As of 2009, most of its fleets were grounded and its training institutions were constrained with shortages of technical skills such as instructors and institutional facilities. Lack of funding has been responsible for an inability to preserve aircraft regularly… Aircraft become due for Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) with time, and not by hours flown, because they are most of the time grounded for unserviceability. The reasons for unserviceability are usually traceable to lack of spares occasioned by insufficient funding. 7 Aircraft out of over a hundred operational... only 7 2 Likes |

Henry240: The non-militarisation of the Alpha-Jets made them unsuitable for deployment to the North East and they are currently deployed only for training at NAF Kainji. Strapping a rocket pod onto a hard-point does not mean it is militarized. Our Pilutus PC-9's have hard points... are they now warplanes? 2 Likes |

agaugust: The Committee established that the radars were excessively priced as a complete set of such radars (comprising 6 radars including the Control Centre) goes for Six Million US Dollars ($6m) averagely. The Committee observed that the radars were delivered without the vital component of Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) that distinguishes between own and adversary aircraft, which has significantly degraded the operational capabilities of the NAF in the North East. No IFF means they are effectivly useless for anything other than controlling civilian air-traffic 2 Likes |
