JackBizzle: Why would you ever let your identity be defined by your color? WHY? Did you chose the skin color you were born in? An identity is what we became as a result of our choices and experiences. It is not defined by others, but by ourselves. If a person calls you n!gger in the negative sense, the person is just demonstrating his own identity, not yours. If a buddy wld call you playful n!gger you would never interpret it that way, would you? So its you who defines rather you see it as an attack on your identity or not. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Tufanja: So racism is not experienced? A black man and a white man do not have different experiences in society? Can one escape the identity of his or her skin colour without being ignorant? Please, think before you type |

JackBizzle:Lol. You are not fair yourself. How do I compare something that doesn't exist with one that exists on the context of existence and not including nonexistence? Yes I said Muslim suffer more but where? In this world. To be frank with you, I've never seen an atheist in Nigeria. Maybe it's a reflection of the cowardice they so much claim to be against. |

urahara:I reside in the north and I'm yet to see an atheist and I'm serious. North Central precisely. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 8:16am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle:Lol. I don't know that yet. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 8:22am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: You are not an atheist. You have not seen any atheist in Nigeria. You have no atheist friends. Yet, you deem yourself experienced and knowledgeable enough to claim that atheists hardly face discrimination in Nigeria? ================================================= Here is what you said, please back it up; Reyginus: You made that statement in reply to this- JackBizzle: So, man up and back up your claims! |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 8:24am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: Who is foolish enough to be stating openly that he is an atheist in the North? Bala tried it and ended up being locked in an asylum |

DeathStroke007: There is no 'who', but rather 'how' it happens. That is the question to ask. We know chemically how it happens and scientists are working on being able to do this in a lab. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 8:43am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle:Lol. My nigger. You mentioned two issues. One doesn't amount to discrimination but intolerance while the other is neither intolerance nor discrimination. Telling you that I'm a humanist and your mood changing doesn't amount to discrimination in the sense we are discussing here. If you put me in an asylum if I see through your intent and it's good I'd only worry about your ignorance. Before we term a thing so, with respect to this conversation, it must be in tandem with the society's institution. You ask what religion I follow and I say 'Muslim' but you get angry and start showing the silent treatment and I call it discrimination. It happens for all ideas and faith and it's called intolerance and not really discrimination in the sense you are trying to make it appear. Though discrimination take root in intolerance. Interview? It is not also discrimination. It is simply defining your working team. An atheist will not employ a Christian to work on an experiment that tries to show the nonexistence of God because their values and understanding of the concept are misaligned. It is not discrimination and also not intolerance. It's simply assembling a team you can work with. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 8:46am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Tufanja:I understand you now if this is what you are trying to say. It's different from what we are saying here. We are talking about institutionalized discrimination solely aimed at a group irrespective of what they think of themselves or how they see it |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 8:49am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle:Lol. But then you had to add, 'even in naija'. That's not a main clause. I was responding to the main clause. Atheists suffer a lot of discriminations, Yes but in Naija, where? What are they denied here? |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 8:51am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle:Lol. The north is not really as violent as some of you think. There are more churches and Christian fellows around than there are Moslems in the north central. |

Reyginus: A government job should be open to all people whether christian, pagan, muslim or atheist. I was talking about government job. Also, see how Seun, an atheist is employing both christians and muslims |

JackBizzle:Where in this country is an atheist denied a Government Job? Where? |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 9:03am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: I wanted to make a long argument but your comment in bold just stopped me. Sir, without being insulting, are you dense? So you wouldnt question how someone legally put you in an asylum when you are normal. You wouldnt worry about your human rights and that of your family/children?? Seriously? ?? ========================================== Is my boss allowed to call me a "fool" at work, if I tell him that I am an atheist after he asks me about my religion? Is my boss allowed to take me to an asylum for my atheism? Since you feel it is right for people to believe that atheist need help.. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 9:09am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: CAC consitently rejected my friends registration for a company name- all of them either had "humanist" or "atheist" in it. A government owned financial company rejected an atheist relative- the interview was fine until it came to religion. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by Nobody: 9:17am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle:Lolol. This boy! Let's use an example. A man all his life has never gone overseas. He doesn't know there exists a another race, the Caucasians, in the world. The astrologers and astronomers around told him they are hundred percent they are the only existent race. He honestly agrees and thinks so. He has a son, a prodigal, who left the land and wandered for two decades around our globe and finally returns home. Then he begins to tell a story of another people with different skin colour and traditions. He repeats the story to anyone he meets. The family, facing a new doctrine that violates their idea of the 'real' world take the action of isolating the boy. In all honesty, the astrologers a and astronomers can't be wrong and their son has caught a crazy flu. They honestly believe this to be true. If you are that boy with who will your prayer lie, Jack, yourself or your family? Who will you show pity? Be honest. |

JackBizzle:He should have reported the issue to the ministry of labour and productivity. What happened was simply a hate-filled staff acting outside the orders of the system. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by italo: 9:21am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle: The post clearly shows where I answered his question earlier. You're just making false allegations as a distraction from your present discourse. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by onetrack(m): 9:28am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: Any evidence for this? |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by italo: 9:28am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle: Do you have proof of this? No. So it's probably false. And even if it were true, are you implying that Muslims don't do same to Christians...and vice versa? and that Atheist don't discriminate against Christians? Even here on Seun's nairaland, Christians are heavily discriminated against. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 9:32am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Reyginus: A good person would ask for proof. In this day and age, we have the internet. The first time I met an atheist as a christian, I was irritated but I didnt want to put him in an asylum or beat the devil out of him. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 9:37am On Jan 28, 2016 |
italo: You never answered the question. You lied in the post so as to dodge. Also, throughout that page in the thread, you dodged and danced around questions. Both I and Wiegraff called you out on it https://www.nairaland.com/1410754/faith-doubt-religious-faith-extreme/13#17972853 https://www.nairaland.com/1410754/faith-doubt-religious-faith-extreme/13#17971608 |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 9:43am On Jan 28, 2016 |
italo: The CAC discrimination was done to Leo Igwe (A popular Nigerian humanist) as well. So there you have it. As for you claiming that I'm implying that Muslims don't discriminate against christians and vice versa, I would just tell you that you are throwing strawmen about. Learn how to argue. Here is my earlier post on this issue, on this very thread JackBizzle: |

onetrack: you absolutely do not understand the pic messages |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by italo: 10:15am On Jan 28, 2016 |
JackBizzle: Where is the proof that Leo Igwe was discriminated against by the CAC? JackBizzle: I never "claimed" such. I only asked a question. You don't know the difference between a claim and a question? "Are you tired?" is different from "you are tired." The reason I asked is that I was unsure if that's your view. You don't know this basic rudiments of English and you want to teach me how to argue? Hahaha. Anyway, you have no concrete evidence that Atheists are discriminated against more than religious groups...even though that's not the main point of the debate. |
Re: Atheism Is Frustrating. by JackBizzle: 10:26am On Jan 28, 2016 |
italo: Leo Igwe stated it in a humanist meeting in Nigeria but I doubt it is on video. You can as well try to register an atheist company. As for you claiming that I have no concrete evidence that atheist are discriminated against more than other religious groups. I can only laugh. I want to ask you, where is our argument based? Only in Nigeria or also the rest of the world? I'm asking this because, there are numerous studies and figures that depict the discrimination atheists face in the US/UK. Nigeria has no atheist organisation and so, we are left with personal stories. And there are lots of personal stories right here on nairaland where atheists have bitterly complained about religious intolerance in Nigeria. You just want to be like kingebukasblog and deny deny deny! |
