Haba, that is not so. I did a name change and they issued me a new passport with different passport number and expiry date.

please how Long did it took for them to process the name change for u.. cause I also Applied for a name change on my passport and this is d 3rd month, and it not done yet

Mine took about 2 months before they asked me to come for the data capturing although it was due to them making a mistake. After that, it took less than 1 week to get it out.

Yes please, I was wondering how many months yours took to come out! And the total amount you spent! A friend who is currently on it, his is taking too long. And he is doing change of name entirely.

YES AS IT IS A LOST CASE AND CAN BE ONLY BE RE-ISSUED IN ABUJA, AGAIN IT WILL BE BETTER IF YOU CAN REMEMBER YOUR PASSPORT NUMBER AS IT WOULD REDUCE EXPENSES FOR YOU.

Please I need some info on change of name for international passport. I renewed my passport in Feb 2014 and will expire in Feb 2019. I got married in January 2015 and I want to do a name change in March. Will the dates still remain the same (Feb 2011-Feb 2019) when I change my name or will the new issue date be March 2015? That is a mistake on their part then, the only time your passport number and expiry change is when renewing. Then again we are talking about Nigeria here, a friend had different experience here.

All depends on your approval and the availability of passport booklets. of recent 32 pages passport have been off and on. The official fee for lost 32 pages is 24,500. It advantage is that you don't have to make double payment like in the case of 64 pages. and time depend on the availability of passport booklets too. But give and take, 2 weeks should do. . .

First meeting someone that understands what to do matters a lot. No offence to any immigration officer here.. wonder how 90% got that job. they don't know anything.
I am not surprise though cos their website is www.that's all.
Secondly you must be ready to travel to Abuja.
Thirdly you must have the international passport you want to change the details. if you don't have it, that will be another case entirely.

Change of data example change of name or date of birth, the official amount that goes into government purse for this purpose is #58,000 Naira, official payment for new passport booklet is #19,500.
This is so you can have an idea of what you should expect when traveling to abuja. other charges now depend on the person doing it and availability of either the 32 pages or 64 pages booklet.
64 pages booklet is double the price of 32 pages.

just had a successful change of data/lost passport. it took one month to process. I want to share this tip so you don't get frustrated while processing it. If when about to start the process you where told #100,000 not the real cost just an example. and you bargained it to #20,000 and the officer agrees, my brothers and sister you must pay that #100,000 or very close to that. cos as he starts the job you will begin to hear stories of how the oga turned down what you offered and mind you, you have already deposited money. other stories how 32 pages not available and you have to add money for 64 pages. how someone that his signature is needed ask for more money.

The decentralisation of this will take effect by August 2016.
I checked Ikoyi immigration office for this info and I was told that after processing in Lagos, my wife has to go to Abuja for capturing. Though I heard the stuff has been decentralised by still on paper and not in practise.

Good morning am a young boy am having a problem with my international passport on changing of name and this was caused by my both parent because I have been living with my father since birth till i graduated from higher institution after graduated my mom told me to come to Lagos and she discuss with me to go to outside the country and study. Then she went with me to the immigration office and she change my name to her father's name but when I inform my father about this and he disagree with her opinion now am back with my father and he is ready to sent me out of the country again to continue my studies but now he told me to change my name on my passport and I just got this passport. I don't know if this E passport can be renewed or there will be name changing pls someone to help me out is this possible to change name because this is bothering my mind
