D-one Ayekooto

OBASANJO'S LETTERS.....

I'm not a fan of OBJ but one of my prayer
points has always been that may Obasanjo
never write me a letter.
Obasanjo may have done exact or more evil
than whoever he's writting to admonish but
while OBJ always escape repercussions,
whoever he writes to admonish are not always
lucky.....I inquired sometimes to know how a
man who is glaringly not perfect, escapes
nemesis, and still will not stop to bring out
similar faults of others, it was then I discovered
that, indeed "Jacob I love, Esau I hate...."
OBJ's involvement in any issue signifies the
imminent end of that issue. Why did I say so?
OBJ was not too involved in the civil war,
others were fighting but suddenly, OBJ was
drafted to take over the 3rd Marine
Commando, and a war that has been fought for
2.5 years ended few months after. To him
Biafra Soldiers surrendered completely and he
brought them all to Lagos and handed them
over to Gowon!!!! Today, he is viewed as the
man who conquered Biafra.
It wasn't his will really to lead Nigeria but when
Murtala died and he was unanimously selected
by the military. OBJ is the first military head of
state in Nigeria(if not Africa) to handover
powers to the civilian....although, through some
shady elections, he handed over to his
preferred candidate Shehu Shagari.
OBJ didn't spare Shagari when the latter was
soaked in mismanagement of the economy. He
wrote him. A few months after, the military
smashed Shagari government......in 1995, he
secretly wrote to Abacha and described him as
a stone age dictator...he also refused to settle
Abacha rift with Mandela...the letter landed
him in trouble. He was almost killed. But after
his death sentence was converted into prison
terms, he wrote another letter to Abacha titled
NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT.....Where he
said, "I was a head of state yesterday, today,
I'm in jail. You're the head of state today,
tomorrow, your condition may be worse than
mine...".
LOL....Indeed, Abacha's future was worse as he
ended inside the grave!!!
OBJ didn't write himself while in power but
instead wrote his deputy, Atiku Abubakar. Atiku
has become a shadow of his pre-1999 self since
then.
It wasn't clear whether he wrote Yaradua, a
terminally ill former Kastina governor he
imposed on Nigeria....but he came out publicly
and asked him to resign!!!
OBJ is one former ruler who hates
consipiratory diplomacy and boring
protocol.....no former head of state does it
better.
Although, he also imposed the Ineffectual
Buffon(According to the Economist), Jonathan
whose damage to Nigeria no get part two, yet,
when GEJ corruption reached a level that satan
was afraid of Nigeria and even Mobutu in his
grave described Jonathan as corrupt(so I
heard).....OBJ didn't spare his imposed devil,
he wrote him in a letter titled BEFORE IT IS
TOO LATE......But it was actually late before the
letter was written. Jonathan, today, has
become a sorrowful histroy to which many
Nigerians don't know why such evil befell us as
a nation. Jonathan was a monumental
disaster!!!
OBJ's latest letter was written to the Saraki led
NASS. The NASS leadership brought about by
forgery and deceit of other members. The
NASS where the SP was a former robbery
suspect, DSP a forger, SL alleged boko haram
sponsor, minority leader recently attempted to
transfer a huge amount of dollars to a safer
place. What a NASS?
OBJ in his letter, advised them to stop their
corruption and think Nigeria for once.
Their reply too is the usual reply OBJ gets from
every letter he writes to public officers.....in
sults, denials and mockery. Unfortunately,
anyone he writes is always destroyed
thereafter, especially after their expected
reply.
OBJ, Please don't write me....... I don't have
sacrifice money in my house!!!

He's human; he's filled with imperfections. Take it from me, obj is a gift not to only Nigeria , but to the entire Africa.

Love him or hate him, he's the ebora owu.

OBJ was not too involved in the civil war,
others were fighting but suddenly, OBJ was

you see why the chickens don't like him?

OBJ didn't spare Shagari when the latter was

obj's letter-writing prowess has been there for ages.

in 1995, he
secretly wrote to Abacha and described him as

Abacha rift with Mandela...the letter landed

you can't just have it the obj way- you fight him and you go down.

It wasn't clear whether he wrote Yaradua, a
terminally ill former Kastina governor he
imposed on Nigeria.... but he came out publicly
and asked him to resign!!!

OBJ is one former ruler who hates

this is more than a letter.

He defeated or conquered Biafra and he staged the revolution that kicked their adopted son out of power- expect the iPod people to hate him like they are doing. Obj , we love you.

In as much as i have admired some of his virtues especially his relentless patriotism and unrivalled courage, his greatest undoing is his inability to conquer himself.

This is a leader I respect and hold in high esteem. most of the mistakes he made in governance were just because he would like to play along with Nigerians so he can get them to do what he wants which was even almost always in the interest of the Nation.

I really don't understand why people still idolize this man. We all know that majority of Nigeria's problem was created out of his selfish interests, only for him to start writing letters when hi interests were not actualized or when it's obvious his plans have failed an so he writes in order to push blames.

No matter how much you find him on the wrong side , he has this untamed nationalistic belief, I think this is what he has working for him.

He loves Nigeria.

It beats imagination and common sense to understand how OBJ has largely remained very relevant in Nigeria's political terrain despite his own blemish too.

IBB, AbdulSalami and even PMB don't have the kind of influence this man has in Nigerian politics.

This man is overrated by the yorubas.he claimed to have won the civil war and everyone believed him before gen.isama came and exposed all his lies.if he was a fearless man he wouldn't have yielded to the pressure mounted on him by the northerners in 1979,he should have stood his ground like IBB.he tried to mess up with abacha, abacha threw him and his cohorts into prison without wasting time.he tried to create a third term for himself but the senates frustrated him.if he tries rubbish with pmb,pmb will personally deal with him without hesitation.a man who has ruled for 11years without achieving any tangible thing for his people.

No...you got me wrong maybe. PMB love for Nigeria is unmatched by any Nigerian leader , both past or present. We have to make some facts available to people for them to know obj is a nationalist, considering his antecedents(maybe corruption under his watch), but that doesn't take away the fact-he's a nationalist.

In Nigeria, after God, fear "the Genie of Owu".

He knows this country inside-out.

He single handedly checkmated the northerners and change the rule of the game forever.

Hated to be loved by the Yorubas.

He has the record of being the president that has achieved more in the history of Nigeria.

Mark it, the days of Senate Leadership are numbered.

Lol @OBJ's letters. But their after effects actually possess historical accuracy.
I like this.

OBJ is actually a cat with more than nine lives. He has emerged unscathed from tight situations that would have claimed the lives of many men.

Captured and rescued at the point of death in Congo

Miraculously survived the Nzeogwu Coup de tat purge- he was Nzeogwu's flatmate and possible confidant.

Was wounded during the Biafran War

Survived the Dimka Coup

Survived Abacha's Tyranny

Didn't get caught in the Aso Rock Jinx

Went in and out of Boko Haram's stronghold

Car accidents, peace keeping missions etc.

Don't get this twisted. I'm not a fan of Ebora Owu but he is definitely a force to reckon with. Politically and otherwise.

OBJ is a hypocritical two faced human being, however in the interest of the nation, I must say his letters always have so much importance, they are always forceful and brings the consciousness of the whole nation to the issues he has addressed. I believe he also has this uncanny ability to know when things are gonna crumble for the recievers of his letters, his letters are just a necessary push to accelerate that inevitability.

Tinubu understands how futile it will be to face obj as an individual, he simply took on the fg legally without taking things personal, and let the media do the rest for him by turning lagos residents to his favor which helped him increase his revenue generation and created a sustainable state.
Read Obj's My Watch, there was a place he acknowledged tinubu's prowess, although not against him, but against the afenifere leaders, by giving them choice houses in victoria island which is far to the state house, thus avoiding unwanted lobbying from the elders and relegating them to where they rightly belong.

Obj is a true definition of a leader : does not see himself beneath anyone, immune to critisms and fearless.

Obj is timeless. He understands that our lives begin to end the moment we remain silent about things that matter.

Bullshyte. !

Says who?

1. Buhari committed treason in 1983 by overthrowing a Democratic government of Nigeria. There is no statute of limitations on treason . Therefore, Buhari bis still a treason suspect at large.
Yes, what a great patriot! wink

2. He has never apologized nor submitted himself for justice.
A great patriot indeed!

3. Buhari, with nothing but pure tribal sentiments, cancelled the Lagos Metroline project in 1983, even at the economic loss of $500m .
Great patriot he is! Huh?

4. Since he was overthrown in 1985, Buhari has never dedicated himself to the service of Nigeria, at least in recompense for leading Nigeria into the path of the locusts years of Babangida and Abacha.
He had done zilch, except to nursing the ambition to rule Nigeria ( his supposed birthright).
What a patriot! Huh?

5. During the dark days of Abacha, Buhari never uttered a word of criticism against the corruption and brutality of Abacha, whom he graciously served as PTF chairman.
What a patriot! Huh?

6. Prior to the last one, Buhari had lost 2 presidential elections, each without ever conceding defeat or congratulating the winner.
What a patriot! Huh? wink

7. During GEJ tenure in office, Buhari never attended council of State meetings nor honoured invitations to ASO Rock.
What a patriot! huh ?

8. Buhari once said, as expected of a great patriot, that the onslaught against Boko Haram was an attack on the north.

9. Last, but not the least is that Buhari once ran for presidential nominations as a " Northern Candidate ".
Have we forgotten that brazen act of patriotism?

Yes indeed, PMB is one hell of a patriot. wink

Anyway, until baba's generation allows a new order to emerge, we ain't ready to evolve beyond what they have been recycling. They are all guilty as charged in public opinion including baba himself. Small time baba will write buhari : IT IS TOO LATE!

Very silly statement.
The Yoruba tribe is the only tribe that does not revere or respect Obj.
You guys are too simple minded about Yorubas.
Obasanjo repeatedly lost his own ward in Abeokuta as President. Afenifere used to describe him as a man "made of very inferior materials ".
Core Yorubas have never forgiven him for denying Awolowo the Presidency. Fela Kuti, Afenifere, OPC, major Yoruba Obas, Ganiyu Fawehinmi , Tinubu and major state governments in the Yoruba area are amongst those who have opposed Obasanjo and won.
Even in his own family , Obj met and endured opposition from his wives and children.

If you don't understand complex things and complex people then keep quiet instead of simplifying. This is not spare parts selling.
