Doubledouble: Hey Mama. Had asked after you in the pregnancy thread much earlier after I observed you'd been away for so long. How are you and your LOs doing? Good to have you back. About the combination of breastfeeding and formula without water, it also works for my 2 months+2wks old twins. They don't take water and are not constipated. I actually attempted to give them on 2 occasions. The girl rejected it and threw up the little that managed to pass through her throat while she was crying. The boy took but I didn't give after those 2 attempts and observed it didn't affect them negatively. Like you said observation is the key. I could never have tried excluding water with my 3 older kids back then. Recipe for constipation big time! Depends on what works for each baby. |

soonest: Cc: pelupelu. My twins are just a little over 2 months old. This is my observation. Girl was the leading twin and weighed less than the boy at birth. Initially wasn't eating much but now eats more than her brother. They currently weigh exactly the same. The boy started lifting his head, following movement, staring at faces, reacting to sound, making sounds and smiling before his sister. She caught up shortly after for all this within one week. They both surprisingly hold their heads up steady for their ages. Also heard girls are faster and my older daughter achieved all milestones(except teething) at a far earlier age than her brothers did at their time. It isnt working like that for my twins for now. Who knows, the pattern might change later. It's probably too early for me to assume that the boy would always be ahead in terms of milestones. Not sure of exactly what area or milestone you feel your boy is lagging behind in and for how long. Could you be a bit more specific? |

Pelupelu: OK sis..we were asked to keep coming for blood tests..they kept checking his biliribum level and PCV..my sis I didn't enjoy it at all..I always cried..they kept puncturing him and yet no treatment..they said the level wasn't high enough to treat him with their light..so was asked to breast feed and put him out in sun..relatives kept insisting I gv antibiotics but it took a week before I agreed..when I did..it cleared up in 6days..but according to his paed..if baby wasn't sucking and active then its high..luckily he is very active..at 2wks I went bk for tests to check the level and it had cleared totally..I didn't tell paed that I gave drugs o ..for their mind breast milk and sun did d magic..not dat it wouldnt have o..but it may tk a longer time So as per your son..I think he's fine..just like a mama said up there..boys and girls reach their milestones at different times..but if you're worried then see a paed My son now at 6wks can follow me and his pa with his gaze..his head is firm..not fully though.he always wants to stand but I don't allow him |

lizzy22: Your baby is fine o..the paved said some babies lose 35% of their weight in the first month..then gain 1/2 to 1kg every month afterwards..mine over lost..that's where the worry is.funny thing he feels heavy but scale says otherwise..the paed had to follow me bk to the nurses' station to re-weigh cos she couldn't believe the weight given to her..its all good anyways..may God mk motherhood easy on us al |
