Your stupidity know no bounds . Here you are trying to seem to make sense like your common sense nonsense senator. If a level 12 officer earns 100k after deductions then his real salary is not less than 115k. If you have uncles or even father that connive with store keepers to steal materials not every teacher does. Gone are those days you refer to ,teachers in government employ are paid well commesurate with what they do. A man works for 6hrs 5day week and earn 100k with other benefits like leave allowance, bonus on exam supervision, bonus on ecam marking and above all extra lessons and you think that is not good enough? When people work 8hrs 6day for far less.
Ode!!!! so after about 9/12 years of teaching, a teacher goes home with 100k and u say that is enough? If that is enough why do they (the teachers) almost kill themselves to be members of welfare commintee Why do they buy stuffs from store keeper at fraction the actaul price and resell to students for profit, who brought those things in the first place U want to give nasco biscuit to such a person sell. u no even get sense at all

Did u understand the post u just quoted? The problem we are having in this country is FG taking upon their self an unnecessary burden the economy cannot bear. In case you don't know, an annual budget vote to just the US defence is about 2 times our entire annual budget more than our current GDP, i.e the aggregate of all economy activities going on in this country.

US' economy is large enough to sustain any socialist programme unlike Nigeria. Again, US can never abandon a critical national priorities to fund an unnecessary socialist programme just like is obtainable in Nigeria. Do u know that, that 500bn will fix over 70% of all federal roads in Nigeria? Do you now that 500bn will upgrade our 37 federal universities to world class? Do u knw that money if invested in border defence will make us have the strongest border in Africa? Do you know that money will fix our power problem forever? Do you know when judiciously invested in the 16 federal teaching hospitals, Nigeria will boast one of the best health sector in Africa and it will eliminate forex flight from this country as a result of health tourism? Do you 500bn can upgrade our prisons to world class correctional centres? US can never sacrifice any of this just to give N10 Nasco biscuits to her pupils.

Teacher's salary and ordinary biscuit for school children are separate issues and you don't have to take biscuits away from school children to help teachers.

He can sit on the senate floor to address issues facing Nigerians just like his colleagues in the senate instead of acting like a coward on twitter and he doesn't have to be a presidential adviser to argue in favor of our teachers on the senate floor.

And going by your logic, if he's not a presidential adviser, why is he advising and crying over federal policies?

Makes no sense..

Cause it affects an average Nigerian child and even though his children may not have attended Nigerian schools he knows those who attended and secondly scroll up you would see my own submission.

secondly it should be a thing of joy that you have a senator who keeps us up to date and creates awareness atleast through him I heard about this policy we need to be able to hold our senators accountable and how can we do that when we can't even drive on the same lane with them so the fact that he is on Twitter gives us the opportunity to hold him accountable just like we do on twitter also he isnt representing Nigeria in the senate he is representing his constituency and so whatever he does at N/A is relative to people from his constituency

Illiterate senator talking rubbish and thinking he's making common sense. He just goes about criticising everything just for the sake of criticising.

Primary education and paying schools teachers is strictly the responsibilities of state and local governments. Federal government is only supporting the efforts of the state government with the feeding program by ensuring school children are properly fed before classes. Students will never learn well when they are hungry so, there is nothing bad in federal governments plan.

Paying teachers promptly is good but not the major solution to the problem in the education sector. Most of the primary school teachers in rural states are not even qualified to teach and like the saying goes, 'you can't give what you don't have'. We saw the reactions of teachers in Ekiti and Edo state when the government wanted to administer competency test on them, they revolted and even voted out the Fayemi government in Ekiti and Edo state had to cancel the plan. What we should do now is for states to sieve the list of their teachers, sack the poor ones, invest massively in training the good ones and bring in fresh graduates just like the federal government is proposing with its plan to employ 500,000 teachers.
Ee pain you?

Dangote can pay 1 million teachers conveniently, does it mean 1m teacher's should be looking up to him for their salaries...u guyz need to stop this ur bias actions,,stop following party actions instead defend what is right now for the future of tomorrow...

Our Education systems are collapsing yet the govt aren't finding solutions... I was expecting a statement from u such aa why can't the FG forget the nasco biscuit for now and instead increase the salary or welfare of teacher's!

I still don't understand why teachers aint the best paid in the world.

Look in the mirror, you are an example of buscuit illeterate. Someone who knows nothing yet posts so much nonsense.

It is your poor education and lack of understanding that makes you a biscuit illeterate. You don't know the role of a Senator. You don't even understand the difference between the levels of government (federal and state) and the difference between the arms of government on the federal level.

You are just a zombie tout who had been poorly educated by a system which had abandoned him, who blindly defends the indefensible.

You can't even see how this system would breed corruption. Half of the kids won't even get their biscuit! The teachers would sell them!

Yet you say are against corruption? My friend educate yourself about how to stop corruption. It is through developing systems and structure, not by giving out un-checked freebies to unmonitored poorly paid workers.

Has he move a motion in the house to look into the welfare of teachers, since he suggested they need to pay teachers well, I am waiting for him to stand in that and move a motion to support state to increase the teacher welfare, it might not be salary there are incentives that could come apart from salary, until then I wouldn't take him seriously.

Now, them say na only 1m extremely poor people them one pay 5k. We know say the region where extremely poor people dey na North.

So Buhari wan share 5k for 1m northerners then share #10 biscuit for school children with N500 billion.

PS: Before you quote me for being tribalistic, we know if it was left to northerners alone, Buhari for lose for the fourth time. APC supporters in SS/SE don't count, all of us follow dey share the 5% tag. Plus, every region have their Judases.

Mr "common sense" don open mouth again oooo. B4 we start arguing if what he said makes sense or not, I want to disagree with the statement that teachers are not well paid as someone said. Go to Lagos state n c d kind of cars these teachers drive to school, then tell me if a poor man drives such. I'm serving in Nasarawa n I can boldly tell u that teachers r being paid very very well.... Infact in my PPA, I have teachers earning 150k n above n our principal earns about 300k per month... Aside payments for marking WAEC N NECO n invigilation n science teachers that teach in private schools also; new teachers (B.Sc) earn between 60-70 depending on subject (science teachers earn more) n HND earn 50k for starters....... Note this z Nasarawa where students r compelled to come to school through free education n d main teaching z done by corpers n student teachers (TP)................. Bottom line of this jargon I wrote z, he might b right to criticise d sharing of biscuits to the students but shouldn't hide under d shadow of 'because of poor teachers salary' cos d reward of teachers starts here on earth in Nigeria........ #EXCEPT U R TALKING OF OYO OR ONE OF THOSE BACKWARD STATES#

You are right and i am happy you acknowledge the situation in Oyo state is different. My question now is; What made Oyo situation different? The governor is only good at blaming the teachers in his state for poor performance of Oyo state students in external exams like WAEC,NECO. He has recently extended the closing hours from 2pm to 4pm yet you refused to pay their salaries as at when due. There will always be poor performance until teachers welfare are taken into consideration.
