You won't have to be "here again", if you took some time out to read the thread again. Use the search tool and type in "certification", "certify" or "notarization" and read all you can on it.
There are rules certification must follow and I don't know if you state high court's procedures are in line with those rules, so its hard to say. For your documents, certify what your school asked you to, even if its your great grandfather's birth certificate.

I did tho. I searched but none mentioned of state court. Thanks. I'll v to search more.

Omo iya!...The high court in Akure can certify your documents but seal no go dey am...and from what I yaf seen seal is needed if u r sending to uniassist and some particular schools. not all tho. Once you certify at the high court, look for a notary public like a lawyer to help you apply the seal...10k was collected in my own case after much begging for three sets of document. but you can take the free shortcut of the German embassy in lag...my 2cowries

Well, not necessarily... That's why sometimes it's better to mail an institution directly than asking questions (that have been answered a million times) here. My documents certifications were accepted by uniassist without any seal...

Thanks Williams... you right. saw ur earlier post on this same issue where u said one should mail the school directly. I still think that's the best idea but if u r in doubt as to what the school wants then one better get the standard certification I.e. stamp with seal, "certified true copy " thingy or you go to the German embassy to certify them there.

You are talking about the one at NEPA road right? What is wrong with them ? No be their money dem won collect? Next time, just look for a print out of where the school or uni-assist talk about the seal, print it and go with it. I will go there one of these days again. Cause they have the seal; though they will collect extra 50 naira for the red seal

There is a way you can do it to minimise cost just as embassy will staple the whole documents together , sign and seal it once with necessary stamps.

Yeah that's right and uniassist has accepted many like that too, l believe the uniassist rule for seal is there because some schools under uniassist insists on it, otherwise uniassist do accept without seal, best option then is to mail the school.
I use myself as an example, a school l was to apply to wrote on their website that the transcript must be official, but this would have Cost me more, and certainly delay me beyond the deadline,. So l had to mail the school explaining the circumstances, l hammered on the delay aspect and got a reply that l can apply with my non official transcript. So in summary you can always commune with your course co-ord.

No spectacular procedure. Just apply to uni-assist the normal way. When they have finished with the processing, they will send you a soft copy of the VPD while the original will be sent to your home address here in Nigeria. You will also apply online on the school website, print out the confimation and sign it.After this, you will certify another set of document(the documents you used to apply for the course via uni-assist ), add your CV in German format , include the confirmation print out and also a statement of purpose depending on your course. You will package everything including the VPD soft copy and send it to the school address in Hamburg. When you apply online on the school website, you will be given a username and password you can always use to track your application. I hope this help. Shalom

Do it in Akure High Court and send it to Uni-assit, no need of notary public.
I did mine in Akure High Court.

Morning Pals. On this issue of funding blocked account, if you have friends in Benin Republic or in Ghana, pls contact them to help enquire from the banks, esp ECObank over there about the exchange rate over there and exactly how this transfer can be achieved.
We need to know if they're using the normal exchange rate or get us acquainted with which rate they use. This info would help us all. Thanks.

Nigeria: Forex Sales for School, Medical Fees Not Banned - CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has debunked the reports, mostly by online media, that it had stopped the sale of dollars for foreign school fees.

The apex bank, however, explained that it would henceforth prioritise sales to sectors that are more productive in generating employment and adding value to the Nigerian economy.

Banks' managing directors had last Friday revealed that payment of foreign school fees alone gulped 15 per cent of the total foreign exchange supply, far more than the amount that goes to the importation of raw materials.

A source at the Central Bank told LEADERSHIP yesterday that some of the journalists who covered the Bankers' Committee Meeting last Friday had misconstrued what the banks' chiefs had said to mean a stoppage to the sale of foreign exchange for the payment of school fees.

He assured that the apex bank had no immediate intention of banning the sale of foreign exchange to those schooling abroad, but stressed that the top priority was to ensure that forex went to those that would add value to the local economy.

Frivolous demand for foreign exchange had depleted the naira's value to new lows.

The external reserves continued to decline, reaching almost a 12-year low as it crossed the $29 billion mark to a 30-day moving average of $28.931 billion as at Friday January 7, 2016. This brings the total decline of the reserves from the beginning of December 2015 to 3.17 per cent decline.

The reserves which was at $29.880 billion as at December 1, 2015 had dropped by 2.7 per cent within the month to $29.069 the last day of last year before a further shed of $138.668 million dollars between December 31, 2015 and January 7, 2016.

Having hovered around $30 billion since September last year, the reserves began a steady decline in December, coming down to $29 billion which it maintained throughout the month before it hit $28 on January 4, 2016 - the latest figure given by the CBN.

The external reserves had depreciated by 14.1 per cent last year, having fallen from $34.46 billion by December 31, 2014 to $29.069 billion by December 31, 2015, according to figures given by the CBN on its website, covering barely four months of imports.

A source within the CBN explained that the decline was due to the fact that the level of inflow accrued into the reserves was slower than the level of outflow during the 30-day period.

According to Olubunmi Asaolu of FBN Quest Research, the dropping level of the reserves may be a result of falling oil prices at the international market.

Chief executive of Cowry Assets, Johnson Chukwu, explained that the drop in the foreign reserve may not be unconnected with the negotiation of letters of credit established for the importation of PMS, which were funded from the N413billion allocated to the payment of petrol subsidy in the recently approved supplementary budget.

Chukwu noted that "if the reserve falls below a certain threshold, the country may not be able to meet its foreign currency obligations. This could trigger loss of confidence by the country's trade partners who may insist on cash collateral/cover before establishing letters of credit for Nigeria's importers."

The most cumbersome part of this is that, the banks are the one pushing for it and not CBN. This will make it more difficult. If CBN says they are not banning this thing and the banks keep telling us no forex story, what can we do?
