Shout out to old members of this thread.....Please dont 4get to remind us when this market would bottom out, there are so many juicy stocks out there but I find out that as each month passes by,my money should be able to buy more......Averaging down is not in my books o!!!!!

If you are waiting to know when the market to bottom out, you may wait for ever. It's better you evaluate the stocks on an individual basis and choose the ones that fit your investment profile now. Some results will soon hit the market and there will be no room enough to contain them. Do your due diligence. cool

What do all ya think?

A disgruntled Iran coming in from the cold holds the ace here and is still good for a million more bpd. Iran's response more likely to unravel whatever they agree to. The Gulf jokers and foxy Russia can conveniently freeze all they like. Highly squeezed Venezuela is the only adult in the room right now. Fingers crossed 4 us all.

for the lazy ones like me;

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria on Monday said it was seeking prospective investors to buy Keystone Bank Limited, the last of the three nationalised banks yet to be sold.

This came a year after the corporation had sold Mainstreet Bank Limited to Skye Bank Plc, and Enterprise Bank Limited to Heritage Bank.

The Federal Government had in 2011 nationalised Afribank Plc, Spring Bank Plc and Bank PHB and changed their names to Mainstreet Bank, Enterprise Bank and Keystone Bank, respectively.

AMCON said in a public notice that it had decided to divest its 100 per cent interest in the bank and asked prospective buyers to submit their bids by March 4, 2015

The corporation has appointed Citibank Nigeria and FBN Capital as financial advisers to manage the Keystone Bank sale process.

The bad debt manager has also asked prospective investors to submit bids, showing evidence of credibility and eligibility for the transaction.

Based on audited account as of June last year, Keystone Bank has total assets of N317.6bn ($1.60bn), equity of N18.9bn and a loan portfolio of N98.2bn, according to Reuters report.

By December 31, 2015, the bank had 156 branches across the country with four subsidiaries, two of which are international, AMCON said in the notice.

Sterling Bank Plc told Reuters on Friday it was aiming to buy one or two mid-sized commercial lenders as sharp falls in the value of the naira and increased regulatory pressure were forcing banks to recapitalise.

AMCON was set up in 2010 to absorb non-performing loans in exchange for government bonds, after the Central Bank of Nigeria had injected $4bn to rescue nine banks from collapse

@ megainvest I need your advice please.
Mother bought shares in forte oil(AP) long time ago. She has not been getting the warrants too.
Now I to transfer her shares to my account(Morgancapital). I was asked to go with her to the registrars office.
Do you know the possible documents they will require from us?
I called their office the man answered just asked me to come with her. I was the one asking him if I should come with this or that.
Thank you.

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/02/16/business/dealbook/paragon-offshore-is-latest-of-about-60-oil-firms-to-file-for-bankruptcy.html?_r=0

Yet another oil company has filed for bankruptcy, as the energy industry and its lenders brace for a prolonged slump.

Paragon Offshore, which operates offshore drilling rigs from the Gulf of Mexico to the North Sea, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sunday evening, the latest filing in a painful shakeout buffeting the oil industry.

Over the last 16 months, about 60 oil and gas companies have filed for bankruptcy as commodity prices slide, and that figure is expected to double in the coming months if prices remain low.

All told, analysts say as much as a third of the sprawling oil and gas industry in the United States could be consolidated as a result of the downturn.

I do not know much about the transfer of shares but I will advise you to call Morgan Capital. They will be willing to help and should have all the info you need. Are you based in Lagos?

IMHO, I think the momentum we saw over the last few weeks is so strong because they had 3 different bullish news hitting the stock back to back. ie
* The press release by SEPLAT that indicated strong production growth and very good revenue forecast. This raises hopes for good 2015 FY results and possibility for handsome dividend of over 10%. Truly the stock was seriously undervalued.
* Winning the Case against Britannia U. Those fields are very large and strategic ones. (Believe me!)
* Positive Oil recovery news over the weekend.

However, I think this bull will get weaker from today due to the "oil freeze" news that hit the market yesterday. It will likely pick u again after results are published.
