http://www.usadf.gov/mission/ About the organization The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) is a small but effective tool in the U.S. Government’s Foreign Assistance toolkit. USADF is on the frontier of development, working directly with Africans on the ground to combat some of Africa’s most difficult development and foreign policy challenges with programs to increase the U.S. diplomatic and development presence in the hardest to reach areas of extreme poverty. The Agency effectively works with the most vulnerable in communities – having successfully created development models for communities in fragile and post-conflict countries, ethnic and religious minorities, youth, the disabled, and nomadic populations. USADF awards small grants (up to $250,000) for technical assistance and capacity building to grassroots organizations, cooperatives and community enterprises that strengthen local institutions and achieve lasting impact. The grants help organizations create tangible benefits such as increasing or sustaining the number of jobs in a community, improving income levels, and addressing social development needs. The Nigerian who is second in charge as vice Chairman http://www.usadf.gov/leadership/ Dr. John O. Agwunobi, Vice-Chairman Dr. John Agwunobi is the former Senior Vice President and President [/b]of Health & Wellness for Wal-Mart Stores Division, where he oversaw the company’s health and wellness business unit, which includes pharmacies, vision centers, and health care clinics. This is a highly accomplished Igbo man who has seen it all in the USA, as indicated by his bio. He must be in the top 10% of accomplished Nigerians in America But see how nearly all the projects he helped attract to Nigeria are in non-Igbo areas See clearer Tables here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-rkHwIMlI9kNlZaM3hjM2JRZm8/view 2 Likes

For some strange reasons, privileged Igbos feel very comfortable either directly or indirectly helping other Nigerians to prosper while leaving their own Emeka Offor is doing the same thing with his SEOF Okorocha was doing the same with his Rochas Foundation until he became Gov In contrast, you hardly find Yoruba or Hausa-Fulani either investing in Igboland or extending charity work to Igboland. On the flip side, this shows Igbos are indeed a rare, superior breed. But how did Igbos get it so wrong/right in Nigeria? Regardless, God will continue to bless Igbos anywhere they are Together with partners, I am putting together a few things I will be doing in Nigeria soon, but ALL will be in South-East (70%) and South-South (30%). That is my vow. 17 Likes |

Can anyone mention to me one single charity work done by a non Igbo Nigerian in Igboland? I would be happy to see and learn about any. 6 Likes |

I do not want to call Igbos stupid (because that would mean calling myself stupid), but why are some Igbos doing this to themselves? 3 Likes |

Francis5: Meanwhile Dangote would rather invest in Gambia, Tanzania than Igboland where he made so much money. Sorry to say, Igbos are generally silly. Now i understand Y the ones in the East kidnap them, when they come for burial. Igbos should be buried where dey die. 1 Like |
Re: See What This Igbo-American Top Shot Is Attracting To Nigeria by Francis5: 4:38pm On Feb 19, 2016 |
hammerT: What's even the rate of kidnapping in Igboland right now? I mean, how frequently? For a long time now have not heard of kidnapping in Igboland at a rate that is higher than happens in Yorubaland, South South, or even North. Igbos have a serious problem. They have been investing outside Igboland even before kidnapping became an issue in Nigeria. So that is no excuse at all. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Let me just say one thing here since some of you are here. All my major investment are in my village in the East. Not even Enugu, Onitsha or any other city but my village. If any person that calls himself a man cannot understand that simple concept, then they are a child. Secondly, as the politician state, your first duty is to yourself and constituency. Charity begins at home. It is only our daft igbo people that i see trying very hard to please others and displease themselves. Maybe it is the Osu Curse or they need special prayers. 2 Likes |

hammerT: I doubt this has anything to do with Osu. There is no (or hardly any) Osu system in Abia State, yet Abians are not exempt from this stupidity of investing elsewhere 3 Likes |

hammerT: some will claim nearness to raw materials, nearness to population and all that thrash as the reason. But check out Dubai - no raw materials and no large population - yet foreigners, including Nigerians, troop in there to buy and export back to their countries. Igbos have no excuse because they even have the internal population and nothing stops them from taking their finished products to other parts of Nigeria. Dangote has depots in Igboland but no factories. Why must Igbos build factories in Lagos and Kano, etc instead of depots? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Francis5: I see it differently though. I think Igbos have benefited more from the Nigerian Project than any other group. In most States of Nigeria outside the South East, Igbos make up the largest non indigenous population. Invariably, they end up benefiting more from the charities in their host states than other Nigerians that are sprinkled all over. A charity does not have to be situated in Igboland to be of benefit to them. 9 Likes |

business may not begin at home, but charity should begin at home. a man came to my church to explain why igbo should stop going to their village to build houses while they live most of their lives in Lagos and I am like... WTF? I shouldn't build to develop my villa, but keep developing yours?.. if na juju e no work aku run ulo! 1 Like |

bokohalal: Well you see how easily I give you examples of Igbo-owned charities that benefit non Igbos compared to you been unable to do same? Emeka Offor is not even based in Nigeria, yet the HQ of his Foundation (SEOF) is in Abuja and I know he has done a lot for all Nigerians through his SEOF. Remember Kanu Heart Foundation? It is based in Lagos and several Yorubas have been treated in India through it. Rochas Okorocha never lived in Ibadan, but his school there gives free scholarships to Ibadan citizens. I can go on and on. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Francis5: Francis5, my argument has not been faulted by you. Moreover, most people give back to the community that they profited from. Not many other Nigerians are in Igboland to give back to them. It is the other way around. If tomorrow, Good Is Good Motors builds a library in Benin City, you should not begrudge him for that. 8 Likes |

We can all see why we the south south cling to the South East. They are good for the economy. So we the South South stand with the South East. We leave the South West to stand with the North They chose the North let them enjoy the North. 4 Likes |

Francis5: Stop saying Igbo and start saying SE Igbo. You'll NEVER find an anioma that does stupid shits like this. Even if you do, it's one out of a thousand. I can't say the same for you people. I Honestly, I don't know what it takes, before you all start seeing that country as a foreign nation that you should NEVER help. Trying to assist a group that f2king hate you. Wtf? Honestly I think something is wrong with SE Igbo I keep saying it. SE Igbo should start acting like us. Stop helping a group of people that never helped you. I wish, oh how I wish we can cleanse ourselves of all this "one Nigerian" Igbo be it ones in SE and few in anioma and river. 3 Likes |

bokohalal: Neither can you prove definitively that Igbos in SW do benefit from non-Igbo charities in those places. I know for sure that they do not in the North, as everything go to Muslims In the West at least half the charities are for Muslims The other half are for Christian Yorubas. Perhaps a few Igbos (if any) could gain from this one, but not before Yorubas have been satisfied. I only wish you can give me one example. Is that too much to ask for |
