For undergraduates, the trend we have observed on this thread is that VOs prefer to see an account balance of at least N9m-N10m. But there are exceptions: @AverageNed in Part 9 got his TRV for undergraduate studies even though his father's account balance was about N3.25m or so, but his approval is unusual given that the statement balance was even less than his program's annual expenses.

@thesoj
Greetings to you.
humm pls i recently applied for may 2016 @simon fraser last december,
i got an offer,so just 2 week ago,i applied for my visa..
but am kinda worried,
i heard a sponsor account should not be less than 6million..
but given the situation i discovered my pman was always having like 10 million in his account ,then nextweek it remains 7million,again another week a sum of 13million was credited of which i don't know where it came from,
But
before i applied his account balance was 3million + ,
his monthly salary is 650k+.

should i be concerned?
am running as an undergraduate

Huzzie:

To get Msc in Accounting or finance requires GMAT, that is the starting point. During my quest to avoid GMAT I found my current school (Brock)
https://brocku.ca/business/future/graduate/maccdegrees/imacc and
UNBC http://www.unbc.ca/commerce. (master of business administration with specialization in accounting, finance etc)
Brock is in Ontario and is expensive while Unbc is in British Columbia and is extremely cheap. The challenge with UNBC is that the competition is very high because domestic and international students pay the same fee(used to be about $1700/semester for 5semesters), I know this because I applied there twice and a friend( also a nairalander) graduated from the Master of biz administration (specialization in finance) last year . But note that, starting from last year Nigerians applying to UNBC are required to write English Proficiency test. You could also check university of Saskatchewan, I think they have a good program
http://www.usask.ca/programs/colleges-schools/grad-studies/programs/accounting.php.
Tell your wife to start thinking of writing GMAT grin because this might be your meal ticket to cheap schools.

Hope this was helpful.
Cheers.

Thank you

thesoj you are very smart guy. I remember seeing a couple of your posts one time and your insight is tremendous. But I forgot your username so couldn't check you again. But seein this post I'm 99% sure you're the guy that mentioned nigerians always looking for the path of least resistance. That has resonated within me for a while.
Thanks. Yes, it was me.

I'm a firm believer in Christ but I'm sorry to say I believe this world would be a better place with more of your kind of athiest and less of some "Christians". Perhaps sometime we can have a chat and discuss your concepts of christianity and atheism. Maybe one of us may have some misconceptions...
Ok. Send me a PM if you'd like.

Good evening guys, nice to be here. Pls how long does the students permit processing time take and whats the total cost. How can I impressively establish a tie for the benefit of the cic visa officer. I got admission for PGD. Is it safe enough to get a students visa with? How much do I need in my account and my sponsor's account. Can I pay part of the school fees first, does it increase my chance of getting the visa?
Thank you so much.

Thanks , it's not stated there I've checked bfir that's why I came here to ask.

I copied the information below from the same website. Maybe you didnt check well.

"Do I need to submit an English Proficiency Test?

If the medium of instruction during your undergraduate education was a language other than English, you will need to submit an English Proficiency Test that meets our minimum requirement. This should be met prior to applying and must be met before an application is reviewed.

If your post-secondary education was in a country whose official language is not English but the medium of instruction was English, you will be required to submit proof such as an English medium letter issued directly by the institution

If you have not completed two or more years, full-time, at a Canadian university or a university at which English was the primary language of instruction, or have not completed a graduate degree at a university where English was the primary language of instruction, you will be required to provide certification of English language proficiency through one of the accepted examinations listed below. Scores are valid for two years from the test date"

Thank you. But this is my second time of deferring O. Since last year.

You should have apply for thesis courses if u know you know say "Pepe" no dey na. Anyway next options if I were you is to:
A) pray and seek financial help from family and friends ( Expect story like "no shishi" and more).
B) Restrategies to apply to courses with enough funding (Might have to wait another year for your dream to be a reality).

#Gurus might have a better option.
#Wish you the best

Advise to others that want to apply to schools. Don't just apply to schools, check school fees and funding available. Be truthful to yourself but have faith. Shalom!

Thank you so much.

Processing duration= +/-2months, processing cost = budget #80 - 100k,
Tie = Assets like house, shares, bonds, job, Almighty marriage that works well when you partner isn't going with you from onset, etc
PGD for Visa. = Tricky but possible. Need more conviction with SOP
Account = add CAD 13,000 to your school fees and minus it from the account balance. The remaining must be good enough to take care of your or your sponsors dependant.
Paying part of School fees = at your risk. Better not if it isn't a condition from your school.

Note: all above is based on my reading on and off this thread. Am yet to apply for a visa. In short, awaiting admission decision sef. So, be cautioned. Shalom!

it obvious u need to increase the amount of money in your account and not 1k to 2 increment. someone on this thread paid the 75CDN and the equivalent amount in naira is over 16k so u moving the money to GTBANK won't solve anything. I hope u understand what I mean.

(1) processing time varys, as of this week it increased from 9 weeks to 10 weeks for Nigeria and Ghana. Application fee at the VFS is N37, 530. Other expenses maybe incurred like notor ising ur docs before submission, plus ur TP grin
(2) establishing a tie differs from each individual. Am afraid u av to really think abt wat tie relates to ur own case. For instance if u are currently employed e could act as one bt nt necessarily
(3) ganing admission for a pgd doesnt matter. Wat matter is justifying y u want to study a pdg most especially if u already av a qualification higher dan a pgd
(4) u could pay part of ur fees especially if its ur schools policy in order to secure a sit but, it doesnt guarantee dat u will get a viisa
(5) sholud be in ur sponsors account shld be enough to cover ur expenses, tuition during ur proposed stay and at leaste enough to remain for ur sponsor especially if ur sponsor has other dependants
