Udiboy:I gave my own understanding of what could constitutes strong ties about 4-5 pages back. Please read back. Its been a dog day for me. Whether they aply as a group or differently, I seriously don't think it makes any difference. Each person is analysed individually. There's this transcript of a dad, son and nephew. Dad got. His son and nephew didn't? Get the picture? They can go together since the plan is to travel together. To show transparency. Your parents' visas also dosent add or take away any advantage. Same story I told above. A student may use that as a tie. If someone is a 1st class final year medical student, if I were the vo I would seriously hold that in his favour. Though the ratio of student and successful visa transcript has not been high. The only advice that is popping into my head now is, if your siblings in school are doing well academically, they should finy to squeeze it in the ds 160. I don't know of the section for job function is active in a student's application. That's a good place to put in his/her GPA, which year, course and of course carry supporting docx. U made me rack my brain with the headake wen dey worry me Btw how did u immigrate? Legally or klegically? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Udiboy(f): 7:35pm On Mar 01, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere: Hahaaaa@ klegically! That's so ochi Eze. I did migrate legally. Hubby is a citizen and living here so I had to leave my beloved Naija to join him here. Theres no 1st class/2nd class thing in pharmacy/Medicine. I will go back and check for the ties essay you wrote. Biko , drop anymore useful Info when your head cools. Thanks 3 Likes |

Udiboy: WOW... your sisters look good to go, with such courses and in final year. 1) Going with the passport is no big deal, all they need do is state it in the DS160 that they're traveling with their parents (Don't worry, the DS160 form has a space for that question) and on the interview day, they go with the passport. If the VO ask them for Passport/prove then they can present it. 2) Ties are relative, for some people, Good Job, Marriage, Properties etc, Please endeavor to read past thread-posts as all of these have been dealt with in the past, (ESPECIALLY THE PART 1 OF THIS THREAD) https://www.nairaland.com/608780/usa-visit-visa/102 Danke! |

Beniyoha01: @ Danke, You be better person. Thank you for the insight. I will look at the 1st part of the thread as indicated. Na 2 girls and 2 boys. One boy dey post NYSC and the other na Engineer for construction company for Bayelsa. Is there a place to fill post NYSC? Biko epp me ! Last question : They are in the East and can go to either Lagos or Abuja for the interview. Where would you recommend they go if they were your siblings? Thank you |

Udiboy:Yes I know that. Ist class in the sense of, are they doing well in school? A good GPA? To bring them out of the box so the vo dosent just zone out once he hears 'I'm a student' |

Udiboy: *Sincerely, the post NYSC brother of yours without a job is a red flag, but him fit do try-your-luck-sha. *The Engineer, looks good-to-go... *There's no place for post NYSC, he could only state that himself at the interview... As it is, HE'S JOBLESS, Chikena! Lastly, all US embassies have same human beings manning them with same training using same immigration laws... If dem like make dem go US embassy for Sambisa forest, na the same ooooo.... |

Good morning house, thank you all for the help. I need you to assist me understand what I got wrong. I applied for B1/B2 visa last year December but I was denied. I have reapplied and I went for my interview today, I was also denied. I just don't understand why I was denid again. After I was denied in December, I then travelled to UAE before going for my interview but I submitted my application January. My transcript goes: Me: Good morning CO: Passport please, flips through my passport about 3 times. I have been to Ghana, Togo, Benin, Kenya, UAE CO: why are you going to America? Me: I'm going for vacation CO: Typing........ CO: He asked me the same question again Me: I'm going on vacation to visit my family friend. CO: Types again.... CO: Sorry.... Denied under 214(b) Next move was the exit. When I got out, I was smiling and I never felt bad. People who saw me taught I was granted. I cannon keel myself. What should I do before I reapply. I'm in my 20s married and have a good job. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Teed89: You just summed it with the actual problem.... *How could you be going on vacation without your family? *How could your re-application be so soon? (The standard is 90 Days after refusal) *You did not even state what you applied for in the 1st time in December, that could also be a factor... Did you use an agent? *Lastly, you asked what you should do before you reapply... This is desperation, must you reapply? just so you don't just continually gift your cash out to the consulate. Give it some time and also ensure to improve your ties and your reason for travel. I'm also of the Opinion that the VO spotted ur lie/intent.... HOW COULD YOU JUST BE BACK FROM ONE VACATION (UAE) AND YOU ARE ALREADY PLANNING ANOTHER (US)? All in the space of 2 months. Please Answer, if you be VO wetin you go do? 4 Likes |

@Teed 1. Allow a SIGNIFICANT change to occur in your life before reapplying. Dubai in my opinion isn't. One month difference? Bros it shows u have nothing sweeting u in Nigeria sotay na apply apply u dey 2.Visit a 'better'country ist 3. Know what you are going to do in the US |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 1:18pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
Teed89: I see nothing wrong in re applying immediately but for you to do that it must be for something important e.g Medical reason,Training, seminar etc not Tourism... Secondly I think your friend got into the U.S illegally and you may end up doing the same thing. Thirdly Your travel history is okay and you said you're married? Do you have kids? Why you wan go enjoy U.S alone during winter without taking your wife and kids along? it's red flag in my own opinion... Next time give it some time maybe December or January and keep traveling out with your family. Have a great day bro. 3 Likes |

Emmmm this opinion about vacationing without family... I see nothing in it o! I applied without hubby for vacation. Around winter sef and it wasn't an issue... Can we remember the person that said' I Want to go and see snow ooo' Ties trumps purpose anytime 2 Likes |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Beniyoha01(m): 2:21pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere: No one is saying it's an issue.... (There are always exemptions based on proven intent) In your case i'm sure you had to prove to the VO why your hubby wasn't travelling with you. 101 times I've heard how family applications are granted easier than that of a single/loners'! In fact, on my interview day 98% of all the granted interviews i experienced were Family or the old or celebrity, it was just I and one other guy that seemed to be single that got granted. Although, all of these are not cast in stone. Travelling with your family shows you are all gonna return back, It exhibits the true intent of the traveler, It shows financial strength, and it's always sweeter if they've got family travel history. 1 Like |

Exactly. And again, families get denied. My friend and her husband got denied. Just pointing out the fact that a married man must NOT travel with family. |

My first application was based on vacation to attend a graduation. I'm learning and understanding you all. You're wonderful. Thanks Seyewest, LadyG, Beniyoha. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Beniyoha01(m): 3:43pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere: True LadyG.... But if he's married and travelling, it should be bussines/work/Seminar related.... If he's married and going for vacation with is family, COOl, If going alone, he must have a good reason... All in all, them go still deny anybody irrespective of how, who, when or how much you get! |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 3:49pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere:I know but I believe it's part of the reason they denied him. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by Nobody: 4:13pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
seyewest:uncle seye you said there is nothing bad in reapplying immediately?? Even those reasons you mentioned no reach make person reapply immediately training, seminars are not reasons enough, secondly if the v.o is swaying towards the travel history side to approve visa, Ghana Benin an UAE are not good enough travel history abeg, go to a better country and allow time pass and see if dem no go give am visa, no need to be a haste to reapply please. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 5:35pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
chloe7:Abeg I will disagree if the conference/seminar/workshop is once a year do you think it's wrong for me to show desperation? This is about improving myself personally and career wise anyway my colleague re applied after 2 weeks and he was fortunate to get a date in less than a month after he was denied. Guess what he was given that visa... and the V.O said you came for interview few weeks back and he said yes that it's important he participate in the Seminar and he granted him the visa. I think we don't know it all and everyone of us is a learner because we got the visa does not mean we are better than those denied who have genuine reason just like us who were granted.
