Nerf I'm confused o. When you're filling the former for BC, the SSN form is also given to you and it usually comes through the mail in a few weeks. You don't have to go to the SSN office for anything o. Did you just decline to sign the SSN form? Anyways, they mailed my daughter's and my nephew sent it to me intact. But I still put zeros on her passport application

I think Houston is different from Chicago

For Houston at least fort bend county you do have to tick on a column when filling the Bc if you want it, no going to Ssn office for anything

Nerf and Modath are you sure the thing don't come and they hid it from you undecided ...just joking tongue tongue

Vcole I hear you sis

Enizo Mehn no idea what money they are going to collect o, maybe something else cuz they don't need to 'go' to 'collect it'

I had my last in Chicago o. I filled it when filling the BC form ( I just don't remember if it was the same form or different forms) I'm also thinking what you're thinking and I'm not kidding.
If I remember correctly BC for and SSN form usually go hand in hand unless you specifically decline (I'm not even sure you can do that).

OMG! OMG!! OMG!!! Arrived USA today. So here's my story.... Got B1/B2 visa in Dec, travelled 4 vacation in Dec. Returned 2 Naija n sent Notification of intent to embassy to which i got a general response. Began gathering all my burden of proof. Had 2 change hosp from NJ to Philly coz of cost and proximity, so i began hosp n doctor search all over again. Got necessary correspondences finally. Then PTA search began....opened acct at Stanchart n Stanbic, awaited call from stanbic.
Here's d testimony......Did not get any call from Stanbic so i went wt hubby on d day of my trip. Got there ard 9am n d lady said no funds!!! Hubby said let's go buy from aboki n i said Heaven No!!! Not spending xtra 500k just to get $4k, God is ABLE!! So we sat awaiting a miracle....we began hearing of a Mr Femi who helps (n i rbred i had read abt him on here) n i started believing God to bring him in. Long story short, God brought him, we approached him n in abt an hour, we got our funds. Jump to trip....Delta did not ask 4 FTF,got placed on fast track n sky priority all tru my movement at MMA (God's favor). Booked wheelchair but stated use at ATL only. 12 hrs later, got to ATL POE....wheeled straight to CBP.
CBP: Morning, why are u in d US.
ME: Childbirth.
CBP: How long do you intend staying?
ME: 2.5months.
CBP: How much do you have?
ME: $4k cash n $5.5k in chase n extra funds in Naija acct. (Cash wsnt counted, statements of acct not requested)
CBP: How far gone are u?
ME: 34wks.
CBP: So abt 6wks to go?
ME: Yes......Takes fingerprint n pics, stamps in for 6months. NO SECONDARY INSPECTION, NO BAGGAGE CHECK. Straight to next gate for connecting flight. Indeed it was God all d way.
Thanks to all the info i got on here, i was an avid reader and though no doc was requested, my prep wt d info i got on here gave me much confidence.
Hello dear I already have a visa like last year so I need to send notification to embassy intend for delivery kindly advice pls.

Well...there are several school of thought on this. Did u get it for delivery? If yes, no need to send the letter. If you got it for tourism and did not declare to be pregnant coz u weren't then , then you need to send a letter. To this, if you got it for tourism but did not use it for that purpose and will be using it for the first time for birthing, then you should send "Change of intent" letter. If on the other hand, you used it for tourism already and now want to use it for birthing, you can send "Notification of intent" letter to be on the safe side. BUT.....if you got it for tourism, was pregnant and you were asked if you were pregnant but you denied.....that's a different ball-game entirely. Can't help out on that

My 2cents....others can contribute too if i left something out.

I'm sure I didn't apply for the SSN. I made sure not to. When baby reaches 18 she can go and get it herself. I don collect blue pali. My work is done. I don't understand how SSN works, 18yrs is a long time to be afraid

Sorry my lovely e-love family with much love i write my missionary journey story thou its coming late
Birth in woman's hospital of texas in houston. Used a nice sweet doc buh she ended up not taking my delivery because she wasnt on duty wen i went into labour. And im glad cos it was in my prayer point always that any doctor that will be inpatient for me to push or have my baby my way should not be around, as am a VBAC candidate nd the risk involve is scary that they will discourage u at d end nd send u for c section. But God be praised as i met a calm, sweet, nd patient doctor nd my nurse oh no!!! Nurse bri God grant her her heart desires she was amazingly great nd sweet.. Kk back to d story God used them both because i went into labour nd it all happened fast nd specially because baby was big 4. 7kg which was on d 8th of feb Nd d doctor on call that took d delivery God bless her says if my doc was around i wld have been a c.s candidate but God be praised baby was checked immediately out nd everything went fyn with her. I had 2nd degree tear thou buh she stitched me as if she be tailour for her former life. Lolz,
Had wonderful nigeria nurses there after i was taken to my room they where nice nd amazing they made shure i was comfortable nd satisfied nd was always checking up on me. They where family as they made me felt at home. My baby's nurses where amazing too, i received every freebies in double because they where amazed with her weight for a norm delivery they even gave her a nick name. Sorry for the long post bill's as follows:
Test done plus ultrasound- 300 my Doctor says nija test wasnt genuine enuf mind u i was a csection candidate before, so she wants us to be on d safer side had to do other tests that she wasnt convinced about.
Doctor's fee- 1800
Hospital fee- 4681 2days stay
Pediatrician fee-320 for both test and 2days visit after delivery because baby had lil jaundice
Passport fee-165
B. C -23 collected only one in vital statistics 8000 north stadium drive Houston went 5 days after delivery so was able to get the main one.
Etc with mrs Stella i took d number here- 320 she was wonderful got it sent within 2days.
I left the US 2weeks after delivery as every documents was ready for us to leave. Collected my zero balance letter from the hospital. Love to birth in Womans hospital again.
Used uber all tru. Buh hospital, pediatricians office, nd doctor's office is on dsame street on fannin where my hotel was, was jus strolling in anytime i have appointment so uber was for shopping. It ended in praise im back home with heat treating us roughly. Thanks to my mentors on this forum dnt wanna start mentioning names u guys rock rock nd rock. Love u all.

@priscai, ill go with what @nefertitiram has said since you have used it severally. However if you are the fidgety type like me, you can take the risk and send the letter, doubt if your visa will be canceled coz of that. I used my tourism visa only once for tourism, sent the letter 2months after because i wanted to be safe than sorry and would rather be denied in naija than deported for lack of informing the embassy but my visa wasn't cancelled. Follow your heart and God's leading. However as earlier stated, you have used yours severally so u might skip d letter thingy. Diff strokes for diff folks. Overall i think what matters most is your burden of proof and poe

Hi everyone,my POE story.
Came in yesterday to dallas fort Worth via frankfurt
In lagos,i was asked for fit to fly by the lufthanza staff but that's the only place I was asked .
Arriving in dallas, people with b1/b2 visa do automated custom check but if u have food or over 10k( which I did) u will be sent to an officer.
The officer stamped me in for 6 months after asking how long I wanted to say n I said I wanted to give birth.no questions about receipts from previous birth and all.i was quite scared cos last time I came to gv birth I didn't say.
It was all breezy and I think dallas is a very good POE.
Meanwhile is there anyone in dallas to give birth right now? Pls pm me

Hi dear I'm in Dallas, send me a pm

Goodmorning beautiful people.
i just want thank God for a successful visa interview that took place on friday in Abuja. I also want to thank God for this forum... y'all have been informative cos i am a first time mom never travelled out befor.

My transcript:
VO: why r going to the state
ME: i will like to have my baby in the US
VO: ok, have you contacted a doctor?
ME: yes and i gave him d correspondance of Dr F and my statements of account
VO: where do you work?
ME: i work ××××
VO: where does you husband work?
ME: he works ××××
VO: what do u do for ××××
ME: i am ×××× for ×××
VO: ok, what does your husband do for ××××
ME: he does ××××
VO: how much do u earn
ME: ××××
VO: how much does your husband earn
ME: ××××
VO: starts typing and then drops his eyeglasses and said from my calculation your income and your husband's income wont be able to pay for this. How Would u pay without using medicaid?
ME: we actually made up our mind in december to have this baby in the US and from that time till now we have bn able to save ×××× and i still have bonus and allowance that will be paid befor and while i am away.
VO: impressive. (He started typing) and said congratulations your visa has been approved.
ME: thank you.

Lots of ppl with fantastic income were denied. Infact some guy said he earns 560k monthly. I looked at him, his shoe and family he really dint look like he earns such shocked cry
i was almost tempted to quote annual income when i dint quote that in my application.
My take: stick to what u filled in your form. Dont panic when you hear people's response. Be truthful.

Merci beaucoup!

I got the generic response.

Here:
Thank you for your inquiry.

Please note that there is no legal requirement to inform us that you are seeking to give birth in the United States or that your purpose of travel has changed. The Customs and Border Protection, a branch of USCIS, determines a traveler's eligibility of entry to the U.S, you should be prepared to demonstrate to the immigration officer at the port of entry why you are seeking medical treatment and that you have logistical and financial plans for the treatment.

We recommend that you review the regulations on non-immigrant aliens entering the United States for purposes of childbirth at https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/882/~/visit-the-u.s.-while-pregnant-and-the-risks-involved and plan accordingly. Please you should not stay in the U.S. longer than you are permitted by Customs and Border Protection at the port of entry. The Department of Homeland Security at the port of entry will determine your eligibility to enter the United States on any travel.

If you choose to give birth in the U.S., we advise you to bring evidence of payment, both when you enter the U.S. on this visit, and at your future U.S. visa interviews.

Sincerely,

Correspondence Unit (TOO)
US CONSULATE GENERAL
