Porto Defense is a mess... Chidozie seriously looks like the only one working... They just threw away a 2 goal lead.

Chidozie almost kept it out, but he can't work alone.
#FCPorto caught out twice now.

@FCPortoGlobal Saw Chidozie having to cover the right too many times. Another great game for him. But he needs another great CB at his side.

Yeah... Against Musa Mohammed's high flying Istanbul BB.
Aminu is quite hot at the moment. He would have even gotten a hattrick.

Musa Muhammad is not a factor in that team. He does not even make the bench.

Yep, not a factor "yet".. Wasn't on the bench for the game. Hasn't been for a while.

With this guy (we know Siasia has always been chasing after him), Chikatara and Aaron Samuel being U23 plus the inclusion of Odion Ighalo, I am begining to fear for Isaac Success' chance of being in Rio.

Yet someone here once concluded he is our best Right back option for the Super Eagles.

We need to see him start playing games first.

I still believe Success will make it to Rio because of his natural ability.

He is not striking at Granada, so we do not get to see the true force of the Beast.

When they get to camp for Rio and Coach Siasia plays him in training as a striker, his ability will flourish.

Remember, Coach Siasia will make his decision from performances in training.

You forgot Iheanaco in your U23 attack list.

Hmmm.. Natural ability. What if the other lads I mentioned display better natural abilities than him. Sure u know Aaron Samuel is a proven Super Eagles player. Aminu Umar is among the foreign based players invited for the Egypt clash. And Chisom Chikatara, u saw his natural abilities at CHAN. He scores goals even from quarter of a chance. See, my brother except we want to attach sentiments, Isaac Success' place is threatened.

As for Iheanacho, he not a natural CF and I would prefer Siasia plays him as an Attacking Midfielder (number 10) in a 4-5-1 or as a Supporting Striker in a 4-4-2 formation.

I am not saying these guys are not terrific finishers. They are. I believe in Success instinct in front of the goal. It is as if everything slows down for him to finish. Chikatara has that ability but not in the Height of Success.

I think the Granada team slowed the guys growth but in camp, training in his usual No.9 role, I see him outshining the rest.

I see Success picking up and showing more promise in camp than these guys. That is where the final pick will come from. Not club performance.

As for Nacho. He trains regularly as a striker with City. I feel playing him off position will inhibit the benefits of his training.

We also have Obinna Nwobodo, Usman Mohammed, Ifeanyi Mathew in midfield to play a deep passing midfield formation. This will be like a Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta midfield. Giving room for a three man attack set up with Success, Nacho and S. Moses.

I think a 4-4-2 option will suit the team. With Nacho and Success up front. This will consist of two guys with electrifying finishing instinct. (Chikatara also has this but I feel these two are sharper than him in the box)

However, the midfield will suffer because we will play Azubuike behind Iwobi, leaving Matthew on the bench.

Simon will play on the left.

Who do you think will be our best right wing player?

If Ighalo is available for the Olympics I think he would be the overwhelming favorite to start as CF. That makes us have 2 more CF options to pick from Isaac Success, Aaron Samuel, Aminu Umar, Chisom Chikatara, Sadiq Umar, Junior Ajayi, Imoh Ezekiel, Taiwo Awoniyi and wonder kid Victor Osimhen. The first 4 I mentioned to me are the front runners.

Iheanacho I believe would coming into the team as an AM. He stands a better chance of starting a game from that position. As I said Ighalo would be the preferred CF option.

With the exception of Odion Ighalo, Isaac Success, Aminu Umar, and possibly Chisom chikitara, No one on this list is "mature" enough for the sole CF role.

Mark my words, Siasia would never pick Kelechi as a CF. I share the fears of Icon4s, as weeks go by, Success is playing himself out of reckoning. Ighalo was the final straw. He will be the automatic choice and since Success plays on the wings, I seriously doubt Siasia would put him in front.

With the avalanche of talents available, not too many highbrows will be raised if Success is omitted from the squad. That's my take.

Coaches these days are usually more comfortable with starting with a 4-5-1 formation.
One of the benefits of this formation is that the team can intermittently shift formation to 4-3-3 (if u field 2 players with striker's instinct in the midfield), 4-4-2 (if u field a player with strikers instinct in the midfield) or 5-4-1 (if u field a midfielder with defensive abilities).
In such cases a coach does nt necessarily need to make substitutions to switch formations. Just to pass across information usually in such a way as not to allow the opponent know of such switches.

Now, the team can adopt any of those formations depending on the nature of their opposition which includes:
-the strength of opposition
-the formation the opposition typically adopts
-the weakest link in the opposing team
-the strongest link or most dangerous pair in the opposing team
-the result you want to achieve

Iheanacho will play a major role in the frame of things as regards which formation the coach would adopt.
Let me take our minds a little back to the last FIFA U20 WC in New-Zealand. Nigeria vs Brazil.

Manu started with a 4-4-2 formation with Awoniyi and Success upront. Yahaya, and Iheanacho started with the AM roles. However, the attacking instinct in Iheanacho naturally changed it to a 4-3-3 formation making the midfield very lean and the defense was exposed a good number of times. U know the result of that game. In the subsequent games Manu switched over to 4-5-1 dropping Success, Yahaya and Iheanacho to the bench. Sokari and Bulbwa who were Midfielders with defensive abilities were brought in while Yahaya and Iheanacho who were Midfielders with attacking instinct were dropped to the bench to suite the coach's defensive tactics.

The mistake Manu made was he had so many star players and he wanted to accommodate all of them in the team's starting 11 at once.
He did the inevitable and benched some of the Star players; a tactics that didn't go down well with Nigerian football followers.

Now, coming back to this Olympic Team I see another similar situation. Siasia has been blessed with some of the best young players in the world. but how does he combine them?

Going back to your question of who would be the best Right wing option:
See how I would set-up my attack:

Iheanacho......Iwobi........Simon
.................Ighalo

Playing a pacey left footed attacker from the Right always poses trouble to the opposing defenders. This is a front-line for a 4-5-1 formation bt can easily be converted to a 4-4-2 with Iheanacho joining Ighalo upfront.

The bolded I doubt will take place. Ighalo would be Siasia's preferred CF option. You think a 4-4-2 formation would suite the team because of Iheanacho. Rather than u playing Iheanacho to suite the Team u are setting up the team to suite Iheanacho. That is what I see. If u say Iheanacho is a striker and practices as a striker in Training at City then he should be ready to sit on the bench in Rio.
