barackohandso:let it be known that I'm not deriding Pep's effort when he was at barça, I really like him but sometimes you just have to take a look at the bigger picture. if Enrique has taken his place and prolly thrived immediately he (Pep) left, then the revolution you talked about would have aborted my point. Tito battled with cancer till he passed on, team performance was subtly above average. Tata's fiasco handed him the pink slip, team performance was nothing to write home about. Its a fact that team was almost in tatters when Enrique was hired. I could go on and on about numerous things Enrique had done. sleep on it sir. 1 Like |

The Brazilian defends his game Alves: Dani Alves gave an interview to several British newspapers including 'The Guardian' and 'Sportsmail'. The Brazilian defended his game and said that he hoped to keep winning titles. Here are some of his answers. On the FIFA Gala: "I'm not Messi, but he has to take me with him every time he attends the Ballon d'Or gala because I'm in the FIFA Team of the Year. Maybe it's because I have a friend on the jury but I have three of those trophies (Team of the Year). I keep telling Messi: "You have to keep taking me to this gala because every time I go with you, you win". On his game and silverware: "I've lasted nine years at Barça without being able to defend properly. Imagine what I could have done if I were any good. Maybe it's just easier to win things at Barça, but it's also harder to stay in the team here, or at least long enough to win as much as I have". On the possibility of playing in the Premier League: "I don't know when, but I'd like to play there to get a taste of what I've seen so many times from the sofa. The way they live the game in England. The fact that they cheer a corner like it were a goal. I've always said it was something I'd like to do". Brazilian has supposedly agreed terms with Catalans Barça may have Marquinhos in the bag |

Former Arsenal player wary of nearly comeback kings Vermaelen doesn't think it's Gunner be easy Marca Menú HomeLa LigaHiguaín operating at Cristiano's level Real Madrid FootballFormer Real player draws level with CR7 on 27 goals Higuaín operating at Cristiano's level Updated 14/03/2016 19:15 CET En Español Shared 1 Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuaín are two of the leading goalscorers in the European leagues. Teammates at Real Madrid until three seasons ago, prior to the formation of the BBC, they are now in a three-way race with Barcelona's Luis Suárez for the Golden Shoe. The Uruguayan was resting this game week and couldn't improve his figures, but 'el Pipita' scored the penalty in Napoli's victory over Palermo and is now on 27 goals. That's the same number of goals in the same number of games (29) as Cristiano Ronaldo. Higuaín's stats in the Serie A this year are much improved on recent seasons. In his first season in Italian football the forward racked up 17 goals in 32 games (average of 0.53 per game), and in the second season, he bagged 18 goals in 38 games (0.47), but this season he's close to scoring a goal a game (0.93). Higuaín is just one goal away from breaking his personal record for goals in a league season. In the 2009-10 season, when he still played for 'Los Blancos', he finished the season with 27 goals from 32 games. That season he managed one more than Cristiano, who bagged himself 26 from 29 games. 2nd trio in history to each score 20+ Liga goals MSN achieve 20/20/20 vision AFP Updated 14/03/2016 12:14 CET David Pecker Shared 2 Neymar's brace against Getafe took him on to 20 La Liga goals for the season, making him the third Barcelona player to reach this tally this term, after Luis Suárez (26) and Leo Messi (22). That means the MSN as a whole are on 68 league goals for the campaign. This is only the second time ever that a team have contributed three players who have each bagged at least 20 goals in the Spanish top flight. The trailblazers on this score were Real Madrid's 2011-12 vintage, when Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuaín and Karim Benzema netted 89 La Liga goals between them: 46 for the Portugal international, 22 for the Argentine and 21 for the Frenchman. |

Dani Alves: Being famous is s*** Mar 15, 2016 02:34 The Brazil international has opened up about his disdain for many aspects of a footballer's life, suggesting that "the more money you have, the more problems" Dani Alves is one of the most recognisable defenders of his generation, having enjoyed a trophy-laden career at the top of European football, but he insists fame isn't all it's made out to be. The list of honours won by the Brazil international with Sevilla and Barcelona includes five Spanish league titles, three Champions Leagues, two UEFA Cups and four Copa del Reys. But in an interview with the Guardian, Alves insists he doesn't understand why people crave the stardom his career has bestowed upon him. “Now, everyone’s on their phone, no one talks to anyone, they’re all looking down [at social media], seeing what others are saying about them,” the 32-year-old said. “[But] the more you know the world today, the more it disappoints. I don’t understand why everyone fights for power, money, fame. Has no one stopped to think that fame is s***? That the more money you have, the more problems?” Having spent nearly eight years at Camp Nou and signed a new contract last summer, Alves has earned millions as one of world football's premier right-backs. READ MORE | Alves still eyes PL move But while Alves acknowledges that his wages allow him to buy luxuries only few can dream of, he is a firm believer that money doesn't evoke true happiness. “Everyone wants, wants, wants... and when they have, they feel desperate. Money’s a necessary evil, there to give you moments,” he continued. “It gives me things I couldn’t have, nice things, but happiness? That’s a not a question of money and fame. Quite the opposite. If you’re famous, people are there: ‘Look, look, the famous guy.’” The former Sevilla full-back added that he would rather not be labelled according to his wealth and status. “I play football, you’re a journalist, you’re a photographer, but we’re all people,” Alves said. “Yet there are labels: famous, normal, rich, poor ... for me ‘rich’ isn’t having lots of money; rich is having loads of things in your head.” Can't help but love this dude's simple kinda arrogance |

They could have been above Madrid by now. 3. Real Madrid. They are nothing but complete disaster. 4. Celta Vigo. They are unlucky to have lost their best player to injury when he was needed most. |
