Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by sugah: 1:43pm On Mar 18, 2016
adelolo just a quick summary of your results, im sure fvine would as usual give you a very detailed response.

Your prolactin levels are slightly elevated but your progesterone levels are indicative of an ovulatory cycle. So it means you most likely ovulated in the cycle you did the tests.

Your HSG and pelvic scan reports both point to the existence of multiple types of fibroids of different sizes and the conclusion of the HSG points to the fact that your tubes are partially blocked by the fibroids.

Go see your doctor with the results for his recommendation.
My first of 3 HSG's had a similar report, but in my case both tubes were completely blocked and no uterine outline was seen. I thank God for his mercies.

And to think of it am not fat at all,am so slim,Noticed I have hairs on my chin which I pluck off and my period are regular like clockwort. My doc placed me on metformin but the side effect is Killin had to stop.na natural approach I need.
Fvine,i need to know how and we're I can get inositol too
My Dear it's not everyone who has PCOS that's overweight. There are lots of Lean women with PCOS too. Which side effects did you get from Metformin? I count myself lucky for now. Today is my 4th day on Metformin and the only side effect I have so far is just Nausea. Although I had terrible tummy runs once yesterday night.

You can get Inositol at GNC shop at Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos or just try big pharmacies wherever you are. It sells for N4,500 for a bottle of 100 Capsules and N18,000 + for a bottle of the powdered form. I have a feeling it will be in big Pharmacies in Abuja. or if you have the cash, go for Ovaboost. It has 2000mg of Inositol and other Vits that PCOS women need. Another alternative to Metformin is Cinnamon. Some women have successfully used Cinnamon Supplement to win PCOS and achieve Pregnancy. It's also available at GNC Ikeja but I don't know the price.

Thanks ooo
UNa Doh
My Benin mamas I salute
Lol. It looks difficult in 9ja settings but very doable. You can eat Yam and Potatoes but just do portion control on them and don't eat regularly. They are good carbs.

Rice, go for Brown Rice (Ofada Rice) or the local rice instead of the regular processed foreign ones. You can also eat Basmati Rice instead but in moderation. Things you can use and cook as rice that are low carb and healthy are Quinoa (Acha by Northerners), Bulgur Wheat.

Swallow: Unripe Plantain Flour, Oatmeal Flour, Potato Flour.

Breakfast & Vegetables: Drink Quaker oats without Sugar or use the Oats to make healthy Oatmeal Pancake. You can also make Fritata ( Mr Biggs Tasty Fiesta) in a healthy way.

Eat Eggs, Fish and Meat. They're healthy and low carb too. Also eat Vegetables they're low carb as well. Pepper soup is also very good but mind the pepper sha.

Beans in moderation though. You can use to make Moi Moi but reduce the oil, Pankara - Akara made without Oil without Oil which tastes as good as the regular akara.

Stews and Soups - Instead of using palm oil, use tomatoes and peppers to colour and sweeten. You can do this perfectly for Okra Soup, Ewedu Soup, All Vegetables Soup
I know someone who uses in all soups but I've only listed the ones I've tried. For your stew, use very little oil.

Fruits : Apples, Pear, Grapes, Paw Paw,Oranges but all in moderation because they contain fructose which at the end of the day is sugar and carbs.

You can go to www.9jafoodie.com for healthy ways of cooking 9ja foods. The lady who owns the blog has used healthy cooking to lose weight and her before and after picture is on the blog too.

You can also visit www.africanweightloss.com for healthy cooking recipes of 9ja foods for those trying to eat healthy and/or lose weight. I've posted 3 Week Sample Menus from africanweightloss on the Weight Gain/Weight loss TTC Thread. They have a forum where people interact just like here on Nairaland.

Hope this helps.

Can be cooked jollof, pudding or in form of swallow.
Nne Fio- Fio- is different from Achicha. Achicha is optionally used in cooking Fio Fio, just like you can also add Yam to Fio Fio. Enugu people even add it to Abacha agwolu agwo ( African Salad). Fio Fio is very healthy and proteinous and also suitable for diabetics when cooked and consumed alone. Achicha is cocoyam (Ede) that is cooked until its Brown and then it's sun dried and used for cooking Fio Fio.
