The security working with former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside have opened fire at Chief Emeka Woke, the chief of staff to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
According to a security source who spoke with The Trent, Chief Woke was driving along Forces Avenue, Old GRA, Port Harcourt when the vehicle he was driving in was shot at by security agents attached to Dakuku Peterside on the evening of Sunday, March 20, 2016.
In order to escape his attackers, Woke speed into the compound of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) which is not far from the scene of this attack. The DSS serves as Nigeria’s secret police.
There is panic as the gunshot were heard within the estate and the new GRA. Reports from residents were sent to The Trent about the gunshots, prompting an investigation by our reporter.
At the time of filing this report, there is no information on the condition of Chief Woke.
Just this week, Dakuku Peterside was appointed director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA by President Muhammadu Buhari.
