HIV has retroviral drugs that can prevent it from becoming AIDS unlike a sickle celled that must live with that pain, agony for the rest of his/her life. Hope you got it now?

Like HIV isnt already bad in itself ..You cant compare the two

Sickle cell is not cancer/degenerative/contagious/infectious and there is actually a cure for sickle cell

U Nigerians need to stop stigmatizing ppl with ss

Maybe YOU need to do research and figure why you would compare a contagious/infectious/degenerative disease to a genetic disorder

u did not get the massage we are trying to put across. the level at which people disregard advice given to them to cross-check their genetic compatibilities before marriage is annoying. By comparison, HIV anti retrovirus drugs are common these days, nd it can halt the virus and make one look good. but my brother, the rate at which a sickler suffer by taking constant drugs and yet looking malnourish, unhealthy and knowing fully well that u will die of the same illness is bad. u made mention of genetic disorder how does that sound to you? A genetic disorder or avoidable infectious HIV & AIDS?
And again, to Africans HIV & AIDS is an embarrassing illness while sickle cell anaemia is more appealing to us than the formal so therefore, most of us judged it by the impression.
