folks are fond of commenting on an issue without first understanding it. Buhari told Apc govs to try n build the houses.not that he-buhari would build them for the states. Its like a party affair or party manifesto issue and he was telling them to try and do it.

You got it mixed up. Buhari told his party leaders to keep one of their campaign promises, how is this pdp's problem? Buhari couldn't have made it a broad issue since he doesn't know what pdp campaigned on. What if pdp didn't have plans to build houses? If Buhari had said all states must build xyz housing units, you same people would still have either called him a dictator or Hitler. The president has the right to address his party and hold them to account on their campaign promise.

APC today can be a PDP state tomorrow. APC residents today can for one reason or another be tasked for housings need in a PDP states. These things are fluid, just like interstates roads networks. If you're partial to one section, every sections will eventually suffer the inconveniences.

In the years of abundance (under Jonathan ) fashola with about 4trillion revenue in 8 years couldn't achieve 10,000 homes in his entire tenure but Baba is advising the current crop of APC governor who are all either owing salaries or pension remittances to build 250,000 homes a year. Thank God for a visionary leader like Anambra state governor Willy Obiano whom had embarked on a massive housing projects with private partners to bridging the housing deficit gap in Anambra state on the arrangement, one particular partner entered into arrangement to build ten thousand housing units while the other partners put together will build five thousand units as it stands now fifteen thousand housing units projects memorandum of understanding had been signed,so what ever picture the president is trying to paint governor Obiano has already set the ball rolling in that direction, God bless Anambra.

What the states can do is to make adjustments to that housing policy based on their local peculiarities. We shouldn`t be making simple things difficult because of party allegiance. Buhari was elected to govern Nigeria not APC states only.

Now PDP supporters want APC govt to build houses for them.

Why did they not urge the PDP govt to build them houses during the previous 16 years?

In any case Buhari wants all states to build houses from they allocation, he is only urging APC states to try and fulfill APC manifesto promise on housing.

All I see is talk, talk and more empty talk.

Fuel is still selling at N150/ltr, exchange rates have gone to the dogs, economic indices have all gone South except the inflationary rate which trailed exchange rates and price of fuel.

The C-in-C claiming to be the Petroleum minister doesn't know what to do while the Finance minister has engaged Ghost Mode and gone underground even in the face of worsening conditions.

There is this state that received N6m as FAAC allocation for the month of February. Belongs to the same party that Buhari mandated its states to build so so thousand houses. See why I said he's just yapping away?

Even the construction of mud houses of that number would not be possible in these current fiscal environment.

You are making a mistake. Federalism allows for separation of Powers but doesn`t prevent the President from initiating a housing policy for the federation. Education is not on exclusive list either, is it? A Federal Housing Policy imposes an obligation on the states which can not be ignored without a reason.

Is it only apc states that have housing shortages?
The problem is national. Since his party agendas won the national consensus as demonstrated by their electoral victory, their agendas should be the national agendas..
If for any reason any states , wether apc or pdp decide to opt out of the programs for their own better conceived one, that will be left for them and their resident citizens. The basic opportunities offered by the ruling party must be for all citizens regardless of parties affiliations. That's national leadership instead of being a sectional leader.
